It's a lovely home, probably the best I've ever been in! It's warm and bright and has large rooms and there are very any smells everyone that lives here is treated with love and respect.
The staff are to be commended.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My partner has been at Hampton Grange for over eighteen months now, having previously been at another local care home where he was very unsettled. He is now content and has a lovely room with outlooks over the treetops to the river below. This is his world as he does not mix easily with other residents
and never joins in any social activities, but the staff respect this. I know he is safe and well looked after and the Grange will always contact me if there is a problem. The home is clean and welcoming; staff are attentive and friendly if a bit thin on the ground at times. My only criticism is that training levels could be improved where personal care is concerned. Teeth and dentures are not always cleaned and finger nails left uncut and dirty. In conclusion, I have to say that I have investigated many other local Care/Nursing homes and very few come up to the standard of Hampton Grange. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

Overall I am pleased with the care my mother receives but I have a few minor niggles.
1. Items of clothing often go missing.
2. Overall the care is good but sometimes depending on what staff are on duty, it can be poor.
3. Would really like coffee/tea facilities for visitors but understand this could
be a hazard.
4. Would appreciate a private room if a few people are visiting as there is nowhere to sit and no privacy.

Staff always helpful my mum is so happy, it's clean and always smells fresh in the home. My mother is a smoker but no covered area to go outside and smoke which is a problem when wet or cold. Car parking can be a problem at certain times of the day. Overall I am very happy with Hampton Grange staff
and care my mum receives.

I was the main carer to my lovely Mum who's personality changed due to dementia. I ended up exhausted and only wanted somewhere nice for a week or two to give me a break. Due to her health deteriorating it was advised she went into care permanently. This was an upsetting time but Hampton Grange Staff
helped us both and I became her daughter instead of her carer. They sang with her, invited her to activities and to the theatre. Her memory was poor and to help her, they provided a memorabilia (photos) which enabled her to communicate.
The home provided a 'person-centred care plan', and the staff involved not only mum but her family too. This identified her 'likes' and 'dislikes', meals, care, TV programmes, Music and entertainment. (all activities of daily living). My mum received quality care and we were all made to feel welcome and able to visit at any time. When Mum passed away, they were very sensitive and kind.
Thank you to Hampton Grange staff.

The home is excellent although paying a month in advance is a harsh ask.
Accounts department at headquarters are difficult to deal with, very trying at times, especially when there are continuous mistakes.

My Nan is currently a resident in Hampton Grange nursing home. Whenever possible I try to visit her at least once per week. She always seems very happy and well cared for and mentions the day activities to me and about how she enjoys them.

Care is excellent and her special dietary needs are met. The Home is clean and tidy. All the staff are friendly and helpful with respect to my mother.
However, the Accounts Department in head office is not very efficient and not very helpful when there is a problem. I have given up contacting them
directly and speak to office staff in Hampton Grange.

I've always found the staff very approachable and friendly and they seem to look after the residents very well. I think they do a difficult job very well. The food seems good, facilities good, I do often wonder if there are enough activities going on though.

As far as I can see, given the amount of staff there, the care is very good. Often understaffed which is disappointing. The food is excellent. Now and again the cleanliness isn't perfect but I think this is due to the staffing.

I worked at a care home for years and it wasn't until I visited Gwen Walford House that I realised that this is the way people should be cared for- second to none care for my uncle. We are always looked after each time we visit too!

My Grandfather is very happy at Hampton and whenever we visit we are always made to feel very welcome. We also feel that we are involved in his care and any questions we have are always answered very quickly. It was hard for my grandfather to go into care but he couldn't be happier. He is getting
a level of care that we simply couldn't offer him at home and he is improving all the time. Thank you to everyone at Hampton.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (10.000)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (10.000) out of 10 for Hampton Grange Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Hampton Grange Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (240 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 240 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hampton Grange Nursing Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
