Our mother was a resident at Hazelhurst Nursing Home for nearly 8 years before she passed away recently. During her time there, she always received consistent first-class care and we will always feel indebted to everyone, across the whole staff spectrum, for enabling our mother’s life to be the best
it could possibly be in spite of her illness and for their warm support for her and for us, the family. Knowing that our mother was so well cared for and in such good hands was a great comfort to us and we will always remember our time at Hazelhurst with much gratitude and affection.

After a period in hospital followed by several daily visits from carers, it was good for my mother to move into a home that can care for her at all times. Being close to where she grew up and spent most of her life Hazelhurst Nursing Home offered a beautiful and comfortable location where she could
be visited by old friends. Her health has improved in the six months that she has been there, a good sign that she has settled in well.

My mother was admitted to Hazelhurst Nursing Home at the end of April after a very thorough admission process. She has settled well and likes all the staff. She looks physically the best I have seen her for a long time. She lives with dementia and could be quite agitated but now appears calm and contented.
Communication with the office is excellent, it could not be faulted in any way. This is very reassuring as I live some distance away. When I do visit I am made to feel very welcome and the staff are friendly and attentive. Her room has her own possessions to hand, so it feels like a home from home. Overall I am very happy with Hazelhurst.

My mother was a resident here for only a short time before she passed away. During her time there she was looked after well by the staff. The staff continued to keep me informed to any changes to either my mother or visiting arrangements. I was able to contact them with any queries or concerns about
my mother and they responded accordingly and in a timely fashion. I always found the staff to be friendly and helpful and I was very pleased with the care she received.

Staff are all caring and thoughtful in the ways they support both residents and family. Food in the restaurant is fabulous, varied and nutritious. They have always changed tyres of food to meet the residents needs and accommodated special requests readily. During this difficult time, all the staff have

I almost feel duty-bound to continually convey my sincere thanks to the staff here at Hazlehurst. My wife is currently a resident in receipt of palliative care, which by default, is incredibly challenging for the staff.
The care staff meet these daily and nightly demands continuously with due diligence,
tenderness, attention to detail and absolute sheer professionalism.
Whenever I leave following a visit, I am comforted in the knowledge that my wife is absolutely safe and that to me is paramount.
Being around this lovely house and its gardens bring an ambience of calm and reassurance
Cleanliness and attention to detail are simply a given here, as opposed to an expectation.
Communication and interaction between auxiliary services such as our NHS, social services etc are clear and precise, which results in gold standard administration.
I would proactively recommend this establishment to other families who may be navigating the difficult decisions for a loved one.

I cannot thank every member of staff enough for the dedication, commitment and love they have shown to my Mum throughout the very challenging past twelve months. As a family we too have been supported and found comfort in the knowledge that Mum is being exceptionally well looked after. We have been
encouraged to telephone as often as we like to speak to Mum and regular FaceTime chats have been entertaining! When it has been possible to see Mum, visits were warm and friendly, comfortable and not rushed and the measures put in place to keep Mum safe were very thorough.

Every member of staff is dedicated to the resident's welfare. They are also very aware of the distress to their families during the last 3-4 months. I have received phone calls, cards and letters from staff assuring me my wife is well and safe. The fact the residence was locked down 10-days before the
government's decision to lockdown has prevented and incidents of covid-19; an outstanding result as the local area has been hit hard and badly. Words cannot express the gratitude and love I feel for the "angels" at Hazelhurst, they are heroes and merit recognition for the outstanding care and love that they have shown my wife and me for the last 15-months.

Because of the virus at the moment I find it difficult to state a month to refer to but I am so grateful my partner is in such a special place and being so well cared for. I have no anxiety knowing the management and staff are so fantastic in all respects. As I can't visit at the moment I speak to the

Hazelhurst is an excellent care home which I would not hesitate to recommend. All the staff are extremely kind and thoughtful, managers, administration, nurses, carers, cleaners, activities staff, chefs, kitchen staff, housekeeper and gardener! They all work together as a team to provide the best possible
care for each resident. The home itself and the garden is lovely. My mum is very happy there and loves the fact that it is like living in an expensive hotel.

My mothers-in-law's care at Hazelhurst is exemplary. During the coronavirus crisis, we have been unable to visit her - the home locked down earlier than others, for which we are very grateful as the home has remained virus-free. We know that mum-in-law has been happy and safe throughout, due to the
efforts of the exceptional staff, who have enabled regular contact via video calls. The staff go above and beyond at all times, and we thank them for all their efforts.

My parents have been treated with the utmost dignity and respect. This made the last few months of my father's life very happy and fulfilled. As my mother transitions to the world of widowhood and lockdown, she continues to receive kindness, and the family keep in contact through Skype and phone calls.

My mum went to Hazelhurst Nursing Home end of January 2020 after spending three weeks in hospital.The care prior to Covid-19 lockdown was excellent. However, the care since lockdown has been absolutely "brilliant". My mum and the other residents have been looked after by the staff in such a great way
to protect them from the virus, it has really taken the pressure off me. I can only offer my heartfelt thanks to all the staff for their dedication and support for the residents and their families. Best wishes.

My mother has lived at Hazelhurst for the last two years. We have been very pleased with the level of care shown to her, all staff always showing her respect and maintaining her dignity. For us as a family, highlights include spending time in the glorious garden together and also the family “dining
in” nights. The staff take the time to organise activities that take into account the interests of each individual. More recently, during the lockdown, the efforts taken to help us maintain contact have been excellent. My mum couldn’t cope with seeing me on a video call. The staff worked to find a solution, and I now watch her regularly via WhatsApp as she interacts with the staff, unaware that I am watching. Just one example of the way the staff care for the individual and the family.

Set in picturesque countryside close to the Wye, with superbly kept and extensive grounds Hazelhurst has a safe and secure homely atmosphere. The care and support staff are always available for a chat on how Mum is doing day to day and the management team his highly professional and of course, knowledgeable
in implementing a regularly updated care plan.
There is a great range of activities, and the food is terrific!
In my experience, there are care homes and there are CARE homes – Hazelhurst is emphatically the latter.
