Review of Charnwood Country Residence from Andy N (Son of Resident) published on 12 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum has only been at Charnwood for a short time, but the difference it has made already is clear. The transformation in her outlook and overall wellbeing has been remarkable. It has been wonderful to see her settling in, meeting new people and taking part in so many activities.
The daily social media updates are fantastic, as they allow me to see the activities she has been enjoying and give me real peace of mind and reassurance.
She was understandably apprehensive about leaving her family home and moving into care, but as her dementia progressed, she knew it was the right decision. Thank you to everyone at Charnwood for making such a positive difference to Mum's life and for supporting us through this transition.

I hope she has many happy years ahead in her new home.

Reply from Lindsay Hagley, Manager at Charnwood Country Residence

Thank you so much for such a meaningful and heartfelt review. It so nice to read that our values and vision at Charnwood can be seen and felt by the residents and families as soon as they walk through the door. Our vision is to be more than a care home, to be a family, community, where everyone belongs. I will share these positive comments with the team.

Review of Hazelhurst Nursing Home from D M (Son of Resident) published on 6 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Hazelhurst Care Home provided exceptional care for my mother during her short stay, and I'm truly grateful for the support they offered. From the moment she arrived, the staff were welcoming, attentive, and compassionate. They took the time to understand her needs, her routines, and the little things that helped her feel comfortable.

The team were consistently patient and kind, treating her with dignity and respect at every step. Communication was excellent - I was kept informed, reassured, and always felt confident that she was in safe hands. The environment itself was clean, calm, and well-organised, which made a noticeable difference to her comfort and wellbeing.

Although her time at Hazelhurst was brief, the care she received was thoughtful, professional, and genuinely heartfelt. I would happily recommend Hazelhurst Care Home to anyone looking for a supportive and caring environment for their loved one.

Review of Highwell House Nursing & Residential Care from J M (Power of Attorney of Resident) published on 31 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Staff are very caring, kind and compassionate - nothing is too much trouble. The home is very clean, bright, cheerful and beautifully furnished. Superb views. The food is fantastic with all tastes catered for. Visiting hours are unlimited and visitors are made very welcome.
Staff to resident ratio is excellent, with several registered nurses available at all times.
There are regular outings arranged - shopping, garden visits, church and theatre etc. A separate building houses a wellness centre, with beauty treatments, chiropody and amazing art and craft room. Physios and fitness instructors visit regularly and the home works well with the local authorities..
An ever changing list of events - excercise classes, gardening, cooking, music, singing - truly something to suit everyone.
The attention to every resident's specific needs is amazing, as is the electronic logging system.

I cannot stress how wonderful Trudi and her team are.

Review of Hazelhurst Nursing Home from T H (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 30 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
When my mother-in-law arrived at Hazelhurst on very short notice for end-of-life care, our family was overwhelmed with worry and sadness. But from day one, the extraordinary staff put our minds at ease with their exceptional tenderness and warmth.

The level of care she received went far beyond standard duties. Everyone went out of their way to ensure she was comfortable, peaceful, and treated with the utmost dignity in her final days. The compassion you showed not only to her, but to our entire family as we navigated this goodbye, is something we will cherish forever. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your beautiful care-we are eternally grateful.

Facilities are excellent at Dulas Court. All staff and management are outstanding and all go way beyond what is expected. They all really care. The rooms and communal areas are always kept to a very high standard and attention to detail is exceptional. The food is out of this world, better than any restaurant, we eat with our mum on a regular basis and it is 1st class. Thank you Dulas for everything that you do.

Review of Charnwood Country Residence from Catharine B (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My parents became residents in February 2026 after moving from another care home in Hereford.
Both their care & support has been absolutely fantastic since day one, we couldn't have asked for a better care of them both.
All of the staff are extremely supportive & friendly from the moment you step through the front door- couldn't ask for a better team than Charnwood.
Unfortunately we lost my father a few weeks ago, I can not praise Lindsay, Bev & all the staff enough as they went above and beyond, showing full dignity & respect for my father in his final moments. They have given full care, respect & support for my mother in the last few tough weeks.
Bev, the activity co-ordinator is fantastic with all the residents, whether it's minibus trips out, weekly bingo or arranging daily activities, there is always something going on for the residents which shows on social media posts & communication with family members.

All the residents are treated like one big family, always happy & smiling.

Thank you for your kind words, its lovely to read that our values of belonging, kindness, understanding, trust and joy are embedding into everything we do every day. Review of Coldwells House from Andrew N (Son of Resident) published on 2 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Friendly & efficiently run care home. A great family feel to the house from the moment you walk through the door. The staff are always going the extra yard to ensure my mum, who suffers from Dementia, is safe and feels wanted. The daily entertainment is varied and excellent. It is clear a great deal of thought goes into entertaining the residents. A beautiful secure garden is a real bonus. A choice of many areas for residents to explore offering variations of interactions and peace and quiet. From a visitors perspective, the staff go out of their way to ensure myself and my four legged companions are felt extremely welcome.

Staff at Coldwells looked after my mum for end of life care in February 2026. Their care and kindness was exemplary for both my mum and her family at such a difficult time. There was regular liaison with hospice and GP teams. This reflected the compassionate care throughout my mum's stay at Coldwells House since 2018.

I chose this home for my elderly friend for a two-week respite stay after he came out of the hospital. I looked around the home first and was very impressed by the kindness of the staff. All the patients look well cared for and happy. My neighbour stayed here for a couple of weeks just before Christmas and was really well looked after. The staff were so kind.

Review of Charnwood Country Residence from A B (Son of Resident) published on 30 March 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
We moved my mother and father into Charwood from a completely different care home provider three weeks ago. The individual care and attention given to them since their arrival has been superb. They have differing needs but the attention to detail and genuine warmness from all the staff means that I really feel Mum and Dad are "cared for" as opposed to being just "looked after". I feel very confident that we have made the right decision.

It's evident that the manager, Lindsay, sets the example that is followed by all the staff. Her communication to us as a family is excellent and her dedication to the residents in her care demonstrable.

Reply from Lindsay Hagley, Manager at Charnwood Country Residence

Thank you for your kind words. We are so pleased to welcome them both to Charnwood. Our vison is to be more than a care home, to be a family and a community where everyone belongs, is heard and is supported to live with purpose and joy. I will ensure your review is shared with the team.

My mum was very well cared for and shown so much respect and love while she lived in Coldwells House. Everyone was friendly toward her and made sure they spoke loudly so she could hear them, especially important as mum had limited sight. Sadly Mum passed away on 2nd January but she was looked after before, during and after her death. Lovely people were with her all the time.

Review of Hazelhurst Nursing Home from Marilyn S (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mum has (since becoming a resident approx 4 years ago)and does receive excellent care from all the staff at Hazelhurst.
She is happy and content at the home and describes everyone who work there as very good and that they take care of her extremely well.
She has high praise for the excellent meals they provide and if she isn't feeling particularly hungry on a certain day they will make her an omelette or jacket potatoe with cheese which she will sometimes ask for instead. This shows me as a family member that they will go out of their way to ensure she is catered for and provided with an appropriate meal to suit her needs at particular times.
The cleaners do an excellent job in keeping mum's room clean and the entire home is kept clean and well maintained - I particularly like the way they set out the tables for meal times, they are laid out beautifully.

As her daughter I am happy with all the care and support mum receives from the home and would not hesitate in recommending it
