You're reading this review because you're thinking of Highwell House for your loved one. My advice is DONT THINK about it, go ahead, book a visit, you wont regret it.
Life at Highwell is exceptional, my husband sadly passed away recently but the kindness shown to both my husband and myself throughout
his time there was remarkable.
I will be forever grateful for the memories I have of us enjoying tea outside on the patio one last time. The consideration shown to us by the staff, enabling us to have our time together, was so thoughtful.
My husbands complex care needs required visits from additional healthcare professions, Highwells team worked skilfully together with them and always kept me informed.
In the latter stages of my husbands life he experienced challenges linked to his illness, but the team at Highwell managed these with kindness, professionalism, and always dignity.
I cant praise everyone enough,
Thankyou for your compassionate care with kindness.
So book your visit today

My mother was a resident of your wonderful home until she passed away. Throughout her time with you, almost three years, you have looked after her to the highest possible standard. My brothers and I feel so grateful to you all - everyone I have been lucky enough to meet has been, without exception,
caring and kind. My mother's wishes were always respected and her last weeks were wonderfully and patiently cared for. I am sure the outstanding status is richly deserved and I cannot thank you enough

Highwell House provided a calm and relaxing environment for my late uncle during his stay and I cannot praise the team highly enough. The facilities are outstanding, but it's the staff members who truly make this place special.
In particular, 4 members of staff went above and beyond their duties. Their
care, empathy and genuine authenticity were second to none. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Kindness and professionalism were constant and consistent.
The open-door policy at Highwell House reflects the home's honest and transparent approach to care.....what you see is truly what you get. It was a kind and amazing experience for my uncle and one for which my family and I will always be deeply grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review. We were honoured to have cared for your uncle, and I'm so glad you chose Highwell House in what was a difficult time for you as a family. You were a tower of strength for your uncle when he needed you most, I'm so glad we were able to support you personally and we were able to work in partnership with you focusing together on the care he needed. It was lovely getting to know you both. Sending all our love from Highwell House to you.

My father has been a resident at Highwell House for nearly 3 years. This week, 14 members of our family visited to celebrate his 90th birthday. We had arranged to meet him in their magnificent new entertaining suite and when we arrived we found it decorated with fresh flowers and lots of balloons. The
very well equipped kitchen area was available for us to use and iced water, coffee, tea and milk and fizz glasses were set out ready for us. This was an example of how the management and staff go over and above to enhance the lives of their residents and we feel so grateful to them that we were able to have such a happy, memorable afternoon and for their continuing high quality care.

Hazelhurst Nursing Home

The team at Hazelhurst are wonderful! My mother was sent there in November 2024 for end-of-life care. She was bedbound and dying, having lost the will to live. The care team were kind, encouraging and loving and did all they could to make her happier. They saved her life and rehabilitated her, gently
and thoughtfully. She's walking again with a rollator and is even strong enough to go on excursions in the minivan. Her recovery is miraculous and would not have happened without the staff at Hazelhurst. The care, wellbeing, catering, cleaning, maintenance and garden teams work together excellently!
Mum thoroughly enjoys the food, praises it highly, she loves the flower gardens and the views across the beautifully landscaped 19 acres. Seasonal events are made special for everyone and she enjoys the various activities that are organised and has made new friends.
Having worked as an agency carer in various homes myself when I was young, I can honestly say that Hazelhurst is the best ever!

Highwell House is a very special place. All staff are friendly, caring and go above and beyond to make sure the residents and visitors are looked after in a friendly and professional way. The accommodation is to a very high standard very homely bright and very relaxed the bedrooms are also to a high
standard clean and airy . The food is excellent great choices and freshly cooked. Activities for the residents are enjoyable with all encouraged to join in. Highwell is a very good run place from the managers to cleaners and laundry which is always clean and fresh. Thank you Highwell for looking after my wife so well.

Hazelhurst Nursing Home

What an extraordinary home with an extraordinary staff! I originally found Hazelhurst while in the USA visiting a dear friend who wanted to return to England for Hospice. He didn't have any family who could accommodate him yet they all very much wanted to see him and spend time with him.
Honestly?
Hazelhurst could not have been a better place for him and all of us to spend his last days! The staff (including the doctor) were universally warm and loving, the room was spacious and comfortable, the grounds were simply BEAUTIFUL -and much to his surprise my friend (and all of us visitors) also loved the food!
I read the reviews before applying for a bed for my friend and just prayed that the reality would be as great as they were. And guess what? It very much was! Across the board. If I could award Hazelhurst six stars out of five I would. Highly recommended!
Reply from Karen Rogers, Provider at Hazelhurst Nursing Home

Thank you so much for this lovely review. What an absolute honour it was to support you to make it possible for your friend to return to England from America, it was incredible that we made this happen. Thankfully we had some gorgeous weather and he was able to enjoy the beautiful gardens with you and his family. I hope you will have happy memories of these special days. Your review will mean so much to the team. Thank you

My mother in law came to Dulas for some respite care following quite a traumatic fall at home. The experience from the moment she entered Dulas to leaving was just wonderful. Mother-in-law is living with dementia and can get quite confused at times, needing support to re-orientate. The team at
Dulas are amazing and quickly understood her needs and helped her to feel safe and well looked after. This gave her a sense of security and also reassured us as her family that she was safe.

Mother in law quickly made friends witin the home. The wellbeing of her and others was supported, and she enjoyed several activities and entertainment both inside and outside the Home.

The team at Dulas are incredibly friendly and approachable, readily available to answer any questions and provide assistance. They made us all feel welcomed and valued. Exceptional.

My mother received exceptional care from Coldwells staff in the final days of her life. Staff were so kind, caring and attentive. They made sure Mum was comfortable, kept a close eye on her, attended to her gently and with respect. When the end came, she was never left alone and was in no pain. Staff

Slow to answer bell call. Mental health patients need more supervision and care. Night staff inadequate for number of beds.

It was lovely to chat with you this morning and to hear how much you love living at Coldwells House and how kind you find all of the staff. We discussed the review comments as I was keen to understand your comments. You explained that you thought the number of cars on the car park at night indicated the number of staff. I explained that some staff walk and others use a bike but we always have the right number of staff. We also discussed call bell response times and I was pleased to show you that all your calls were answered with 2 minutes and that we log and monitor call bell response times. It's always a pleasure to chat with you and thank you for completing a review card. All the staff and management are outstanding, they all take the utmost care of every need catered for, are very courteous to visitors, and nothing seems to be too much trouble. The nursing staff treat you like family. Sadly my best friend has spent her final days there and was treated amazingly well.

All I can say is wow! What a fantastic, clean and friendly home Coldwells is. My father came here after we were not happy with the previous care home he was in. Coldwells all staff go above and beyond all our expectations of care and dignity given to dad. He is so much happier here, has made lots of
friends and loves the staff. The facilities are fabulous, a bistro where we can have coffee and cake with dad, we can go and have dinner with dad which he loves and all for a donation. Fantastic and would highly recommend.

The team at Coldwells was caring, attentive and proactive in their care of my mum over the last 22 months. The management team were approachable, communicative, forward thinking, always finding time to discuss matters of care or to hear of a request. Mum entered her end-of-life phase in Coldwells. During
this time Mum was cared for with warmth, compassion and respect and we always felt her comfort and dignity was uppermost in the carers' minds. The Team Leads were always available at the end of the call bell for us and responded to every situation with calm and caring professionalism, knowing when we needed a comforting word or reassurance and when it was time for a nurse to be called. Sitting with Mum we could hear the team in the corridor, interacting with each other and the other residents, and never once heard any inappropriate comments, only respectful and caring interactions. I am very grateful for the way Mum was looked after by everyone. Coldwells is a wonderful home.
