Astley Hall was acquired by a small local group, Heritage Manor, in May 2012 and underwent an internal refurbishment of the Grade II listed building and its gardens. The most recent refurbishment of the lounge and dining areas was in 2024.

Set in a country house with wonderful views out over the valley, Astley Hall provides nursing and residential care, and there is a dedicated part of the building to look after those people with dementia.

The team provides homely care which promotes independence at every opportunity, in accordance with the aims of the Worcestershire dementia standard for care; this is care that does not impede upon residents' chances of building a satisfying day-to-day lifestyle, in a calm and welcoming social atmosphere.

The chef at Astley Hall has just won the best chef award at The Great British Care Awards for the West Midlands 2024 and now goes through to the National Awards. A senior carer was also a finalist at The Great British Care Awards for the West Midlands 2024 in the carer category.

Many activities and hobbies are available for occupants to enjoy, and the concerns of loved ones and relatives are taken seriously. Alternative health professionals are regularly consulted over personal developments.

I visited my husband's aunt at Astley Hall on 27.02.22. I felt apprehensive as I always find these places depressing and smell funny. I was so impressed with the care, facilities, ambience, sunny aspect, even a hotel feel to Astley Hall. I actually enjoyed the visit. It's sad for our aunt's health but
couldn't be happier where she is and it makes all the difference knowing her environment is so lovely. Beautiful, thoughtful room too, pretty wallpaper and curtains. Great job to the staff.

The organisation was efficient, helpful, attentive and considerate. The manager clearly has an excellent relationship with his staff, which makes for a very good atmosphere. The location was excellent and beautiful. My mother enjoyed the views and listening to the birds singing. The rural setting was
very peaceful but still easy to access by car. The care, professionalism, attitude and interest of the care staff was absolutely brilliant. Without exception, they all put heart and soul into looking after the residents. I would highly recommend Astley Hall Care Home.

My mother required nursing care following a fall at home and treatment at A&E. Astley Hall managed to accommodate my mother immediately, providing all of her care requirements. The staff were very helpful and professional with all of the arrangements. This was reassuring at a difficult time. My mother
was very content at Astley Hall, she was welcomed immediately into the 'happy ambiance' and made some new friends. The care provided by all of the staff is greatly appreciated.

Dad was only at Astley Hall for the final 5 weeks of his life, unfortunately. He had been in hospital prior to this, where his health deteriorated, becoming very frail and requiring considerable care and support. The Team at Astley Hall were wonderful, managing all of Dad's needs and always making time
to talk to the family – quite the opposite to our experience with the hospital system, where talking to someone was a real challenge. We truly appreciate the love, support and care given to Dad during his time at Astley Hall. The Team did a wonderful job during these difficult and challenging times – thank you.

Obviously, in these times I was really happy to see the staff taking temperature readings for anyone that entered the premises, and I immediately noticed the amount of protective safety equipment and sanitiser stations on every level and it was great to see all the staff in masks. I wasn’t sure what
to expect as I’ve not spent much time in any care homes, but I was really impressed. I found the manager, and the rest of the staff extremely caring and sincere, and I briefly spoke to the manager and he told me they were about to do some engagement activities with the residents, and that they often do, I was really pleased to hear this as my grandmother is a resident and I was so pleased to see the actual manager and some of the staff involved whilst I was visiting, it made me feel extremely happy for my grandmother and I really wanted to let other people know. Keep up the fantastic work everyone here.

Mum came to Astley in a very frail and depleted state. With excellent care, though, she actually rallied surprisingly well for some weeks. The availability of staff to talk to us if we had concerns made a difficult situation much easier than it could have been. We were always very impressed by the commitment
to make her life as comfortable as possible, catering for her particular culinary tastes and encouraging her to eat and drink, trying to try to lift her morale, encouraging her to take part in activities when she felt able, or just sitting and talking to her if she didn’t. Seeing for ourselves the way that their priority was to keep Mum free of pain and distress in the inevitable final stage I know is going to be a massive comfort in the weeks ahead. When Mum finally slipped peacefully away in late September, we felt so cared for ourselves by the staff. With heart-felt thanks to all the team for all you did for Mum and for us.

My partner was only at Astley for just under two weeks after being in 2 hospitals. Due to COVID-19, we couldn't visit at Astley, but my partner was very happy there. On our video chat, she told me the care, staff and food was very good, and she likes the view from the window. Nothing was too much for
the nurses or carers. When she passed away (not COVID-19), the whole team were very supportive to us as a family (sent sympathy card) and can't thank Astley enough. I would have like to put excellent for everything, but due to COVID-19, and Astley keeping residents/staff safe, was unable to see for myself.

The staff and management are very compassionate and truly are what carers should be; friendly and compassionate. My friend was well taken care of with all his complex nursing care being met. The food was great, and I was invited to stay for lunch one day that I visited. The rooms were clean, and they
took extra care for my friends woollen jumpers, making sure they did not shrink. There were lots of things to do, and my friend really enjoyed the back garden; we would often sit out in the garden for a visit. If I wanted to know if he needed anything; all I would have to do is ask, the management would sit and chat over my concerns. All in all, a very nice place to be.

Although my mother was only at Astley Hall for 10 days because her condition deteriorated rapidly and she sadly died, all the staff looked after her with care and compassion, not only for mum but also for me. I was very happy to leave her in their care.

The staff show great compassion. The rooms are clean as well as all public spaces. There is always something to do with the activities staff. The manager is always available to have a chat about the residents current needs or even just for a chat.

Thank you to all of the staff at Astley Hall for looking after mum so well in her final 3-months of life. She was cared for with love and dignity even though she was unable to do anything for herself. Carers and nurses always spoke to her gently about any treatment they needed to administer to make
sure that she understood what was being done. She was kept clean and warm at all times. Staff sat with her when she was frightened or distressed so that she never felt alone. She was protected and kept safe throughout the Covid-19 shutdown, and staff maintained extremely high professional safeguarding standards.
They took great care of us (her family) to make sure that we felt supported and were well informed. Any changes in treatment or her condition were reported as soon as possible, and permissions were gained if needed.
Grateful thanks to everyone at Astley throughout a very emotionally challenging time for us all. You were a beacon of light in the darkness.

My mother was admitted to Astley Hall in April 2020. She was in a very poorly state both physically and emotionally. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, we have been unable to visit her in person. However, all of the team have done an excellent job to ensure she is well cared for and to support our family
with regular updates and arranging skype calls with her so we are able to stay in touch during these difficult times. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the team, no matter how busy they are and they always go above and beyond. As I have not yet been inside the home, it is not really possible to rate some of the facilities/services, so I have rated these as good at this stage. But based on the care Mom is receiving and the wonderful dedicated care team, I cannot fault it and would highly recommend it. My mother has also said how wonderful the staff are and that she is happy at Astley Hall which is the most important thing, so we are delighted.

Dad's care was excellent, and the staff were very kind to him and myself when visiting. They made every effort to let him spend time with Mum whenever possible and their continuing care for her after his death has been wonderful.

I couldn't have asked for a better place as a final chapter for my mother's life, I just wish it had happened sooner and longer.

Found home welcoming to service users and visitors. Activities for service users so important for stimulation, music playing is a memory jerker and music and movement. Drinks encouraged, good to see. Cleaners do their very best to keep odours at bay. Carers very friendly and kind. Menu excellent. Service
users treated with respect. Doors knocked before entry. Senior staff kept me updated on service users settling in and behaviour. Photos and homely touches in room so important. Laundry and housekeeping good.
