Overall Experience

My lovely mom was a resident of Moundsley Hall nursing home for 5 years with vascular dementia and various other problems and always received very good care. However, on the 4/9/18 Mom had a stroke for which she was hospitalised, it soon became apparent that there was nothing more they could do for her so she was sent back to Moundsley for end of life care. I cannot express in words our heartfelt gratitude and thanks for all the kindness and compassion shown by the staff to my mom in her last few weeks of life. They were so gentle while washing and changing her and made sure she was always clean and comfortable, always professional and caring. They made us feel welcome even when we wanted to stay over with Mom in her last days. Mom sadly passed away on the 7/10/18.

My wife was admitted to the Moundsley Hall Unit of the Moundsley Hall Care Village in April 2016.
As well as having mixed dementia, she is unable to walk. I visit every day and it has been a privilege to witness what is a thoroughly professional operation.
I cannot fault it.
Adequate numbers of well-trained carers are always on hand.
Two events coordinators ensure residents are kept as active as possible.

A qualified nurse is always on duty. This nursing home must be an example of 'how it should be done.'

My Sister-in-law has lived here for the past 18 months. I was initially impressed with the cleanliness, the place smelled fresh and clean when we walked in. I am pleased to say, 18 months on, every time we visit, usually once a week it is still the same. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the overall feeling I get when visiting is that of a comfortable, well run home.

Mum became a resident on 18th February 2011, initially in Clarence House and then Kensington House, until her death on 26th April 2018. More or less, as soon as Mum moved in the weight of the world came off her shoulders and she relaxed and enjoyed the camaraderie and facilities. As time went by and the dementia took a great hold, when more nursing care was needed, Mum was treated with great love and respect.

My brother has been at Buckingham House for 14 months his life and ours have changed for the better.

We can now go away and know he will be well looked after. The staff are polite, courteous, welcoming and respectful. They treat my brother with respect and dignity at all times. I have also noticed that the staff team stay the same and nobody ever leaves so that proves it is a happy place to work. The management is good they have good routines which keeps my brother feeling secure and safe knowing there won't be any changes to cause anxiety.

Moundsley Hall Care Village is set in a beautiful, superbly landscaped well-maintained grounds for resident and their families to enjoy.

Kensington house is purpose built with lovely spacious rooms all with well equipped en-suite wet rooms to respect and maintain residents privacy and dignity. All the staff (office, manager, team leaders, cares, nurses, activity, maintenance and kitchen) are approachable, professional and very friendly. The main lounge and dining areas are extremely spacious and not "crowded". There is also a smaller quieter garden lounge for residents to enjoy. The residents present happy, clean and well cared for. Cost is the only downside. This home is far more expensive than most of the other homes in the area.

My wife has been resident in Moundsley Hall for three months now, requiring nursing dementia care.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this unit to any family looking to place someone somewhere where they can be confident of ongoing care with dignity.
All staff, whatever their particular job, take the time to talk to residents on first name terms, giving a calming and reassuring environment.

Group activities with music are enjoyed by all.

I researched care homes in and around Kings Heath and drew up a shortlist. I rang Moundsley Hall and was put through to the Finance and Payroll Administrator who was handling admissions, and from that first phone call my gut instinct told me this could be the one. When we went to visit the home the reception from the Buckingham House Manager and her staff was exceptional. My mother-in-law moved in and although her stay was on short the care she received was second to none. I can't rate the home highly enough for the service they gave. Thank you so very much.

Overall my experience has been satisfactory. There have been issues which have been dealt with as they arrive. The permanent staff do a very good, although difficult, job, I would like to see less use of agency staff as the permanent staff have a relationship with my husband which is so important.

My Nan is well cared for, and is happy and content living in Buckingham House of Moundsley Hall.
The staff are lovely and there seem to be plenty about when needed.
Nothing is too much trouble for them and my Nan speaks highly of the staff as well as the home.
Everyone seems well trained, and the home has a very 'homely, safe' feeling.

I enjoy visiting my Nan, although we live 100 miles away! Well done to you all.
