St George’s Park Nursing Home offers exceptional nursing, palliative and specialist dementia care to residents from across the West Midlands.

The home is located within the peaceful residential area of St. George’s, but is also close to the popular town of Telford with a bustling high street and many nearby amenities, many of which can be easily accessed as St. George’s Park is on the local bus route.

The 2 individual units within the home are split across 2 very specialised floors, ensuring that every resident receives the exact level of high quality care they require 24hrs/day, regardless of how specific their needs are. St. George’s Park has a real person-centred approach and the dedicated care team support individuality, allowing each resident to achieve their potential and enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle.

Accommodation throughout the home is luxurious yet practical, with care having been taken to make the individual bedrooms, and the communal areas, comfortable, appealing and stimulating. To ensure that residents feel at home and settled they are also encouraged to bring items of furniture and treasured possessions to personalise their surroundings.

St. George’s Park has a very welcoming atmosphere and friends and family often join in with the host of in-house activities which have been designed to cater for existing hobbies and interests – and to stimulate some new ones too. There are well-established links with the local community and the home often receives visits and concerts from the neighbouring schoolchildren and services from the local churches for those who want to join in.

Flexibility with meal types, sizes and even the location where they are eaten means that the home can allow for the wishes and dietary needs of every individual, regardless of their condition. Always fresh and of the highest quality, the meals and snacks are enjoyed by residents, friends and family alike.

My mum sadly passed away at the end of November 2022, this was so unexpected by ourselves and the staff at St Georges Park.
All staff members are amazing and dedicated to their job, at the time of our loss everyone in the home gave my dad and I comfort and much-needed support.
We spent three years
visiting Mum on a daily basis and every visit was a pleasure, a loving warm welcome as soon as we walked through the door.
St Georges Park Care Home has become part of our family.
We cannot thank you enough for the love and care, Mum, Dad, myself, family and friends have received.
Reply from Chelsie Hammond, Home Manager at St Georges Park Nursing HomeNadine, we are so sorry for your loss and feel very honoured that we could make such a difference during her last few precious years. The care and well-being of every resident is our number one priority and it is rewarding to have such positive feedback.

I was initially concerned about a rushed placement to St Georges and worried that my brother may fall and break his hip again. However, people all managed carefully, and difficulties between residents do not result in harm, as situations are avoided or defused. Staff are sensitive towards my brother
and understand his "collecting" behaviour. They are also patient with his fear of personal care and his personal space in his room. My brother loves his room and has settled very well. I have been very welcome and enjoyed doing activities with my brother. The nurses are nothing short of heroes for managing my brother's diabetes, which is hard to stabilize. Thank you!

The staff are inattentive as residents are not checked on a regular basis as I found other residents sleeping in my wife’s bed in her room. Also, the room had not been cleaned for several weeks as I found rotting food in her bin that had been there for seven days and I had to report it to staff and
check the following day it had been removed. The door would not latch shut and in the visiting room, the window safety wire had the PVC covering worn away and the steel wires were sticking out which could injure the residents. Many of my wife’s items went missing and they lost three pairs of glasses of which I had to replace at a great cost to a pensioner. They give the impression they are caring when they are not as when I tried to claim for the lost glasses they stated that in their contract they are not liable for anything so in that case if you need to have someone go there, send them in with nothing.
Reply from Francesca Jaskolski, Head of Marketing at St Georges Park Nursing HomeWe are sorry that you felt this was a suitable forum to continue these accusations. We have already provided evidence that contradicts your defamatory claims.
During the time referenced Covid19 was only enabling visits in our outdoor specifically constructed pods, which were built to a very high standard.
Furthermore, your wife was admitted to the home with one documented pair of glasses, which her current facility has verified she still has in her possession.
We are disappointed that your challenging actions led us to, unfortunately, having to enlist the assistance of the Local Authorities to terminate your wife’s stay with us.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (10.000)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (10.000) out of 10 for St Georges Park Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for St Georges Park Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (238 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 238 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Georges Park Nursing Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have worked at St Georges for over 5 years and have loved every minute of it. I endeavour to provide a broad-ranging activities programme for those we support, which are person centred and include lots of musical entertainment, holistic therapies and social events within the home, as well as out in the local community.

My days are spent making sure that the residents in the home have an interesting and active social programme to enjoy each day. Residents' individual preferences are always considered, and I welcome feedback from loved ones too.
