It primarily provides nursing care but also offers residential care for self-funding residents.

Difficult to comment in the current covid 19 climate due to restrictions on visiting until the very recent weeks. Hopefully once restrictions become relaxed things will improve and more activities etc will be reinstated.

My mom was diagnosed with 2 brain tumours and needed 24-hour nursing care, she had never been away from home on her own in the 51 years she was married. The staff at Autumn House were amazing in making her feel at home, helping her with all her needs (not just medical help but emotional care as well),
giving her hugs and love at a time when we as a family can't visit due to Covid. Not only do the staff look after my mom but they always have time for me and to answer any questions.

Very difficult to review as have not been able to enter the home until this month, but it does appear that Mum has been very well looked after and entertained well. The home has some excellent, reliable, and devoted staff who deserve our sincere thanks. I don't know about the food and drink as I don't
see what she eats. Hoping to be able to have more visits soon and to be able to bring in her new great-grandchild and dog.

Dad arrived at Autumn House from hospital during Covid in 2020. We weren't allowed to visit or settle him in. The activities staff were amazing and ensured we had regular Skype calls so we could monitor him. The nursing staff updated me when there were any serious issues and I have always felt comforted
by the overall approach of the admin staff. I had to put blind faith in Autumn House but they seem to have delivered in these very trying, difficult times.

Mum was placed here from hospital and was placed on the residential floor at first. She was very unsettled at first but then was moved up to the nursing floor where she settled down straight away. The care she has had has been very good so far. The only problem is that she's had a few falls. I've been
kept informed of any health concerns most of the time. A few niggles but the staff are very helpful. In particular, the activities coordinator who sadly left.

Mum was brought to Autumn House for her end of life care. I cannot thank the care staff enough for the kindness, compassion and dignity they showed her in the short time she was there. My husband and I were also treated so well. The kindness we were shown was beyond any expectations. I'm sorry Mum could
not have been at Autumn House for a longer period of time as it was an absolute pleasure to visit there. We will miss the staff there, in the short period of time there we made special friends.
Thank you all so very much, you are very special people and Autumn House is a very special place, you are all worth you're weight in gold. Bless you all.

What a wonderful place. Having moved my mother here from another home, let’s say this is like a five-star hotel. She has a lovely room with her own toilet which she didn’t have before. The care is excellent there are plenty of staff on and always at hand if she needs anything. She is kept clean and
tidy and is treated with dignity. She is in a safe and happy environment and well cared for. Well done and thank you to all the staff.

My mum had to go in for respite, her diet was very poor and the catering staff were very good at catering for her needs sometimes, cooking special meals for her. The care staff were very supportive and helpful and information was passed to me promptly if I asked. I would highly recommend this home.
The new owners are making great leaps in getting the home up to a very high standard and are on hand to talk to.

My sister, a wheelchair bound stroke victim, always feels safe here: she says on returning and seeing familiar faces of staff and residents, "Ah, home again!" Earlier this year she was listened to in a difficult situation when, because of her disability, her views might have been discounted; the same
goes for when she speaks up at Resident and Staff Meetings.
Now she is terminally ill, she has expressly stated her wish to spend her last days here. Her care is professional but personalised; it is careful and loving. I, as her next of kin, feel great confidence in Autumn House.

Under her leadership, she successfully transformed the home from a “Requires Improvement” rating to “Good” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), a testament to her strong leadership and passion for raising standards.


With 26 years of experience as a manager in the care industry, Julie has built an excellent reputation along the way. Her extensive knowledge and hands-on approach to management have made her a trusted leader in the field. Julie is passionate about ensuring that every resident receives the highest level of care and that the home operates with compassion, dignity, and respect.
