A professionally operated establishment which delivers a high level of nursing care, accompanied by respect for the patient.

My mother's quality of life has noticeably improved since she moved here.

My mom came to the home for respite care after being neglected by carers in her own home.
She was made very welcome and has been very well cared for since.
The staff are lovely and so kind.
I cannot thank them enough for their compassion and genuine interest in mom.
I personally have also benefitted from their sincere empathy and kindness.
I hope mom can stay here now as she is happy, safe and cared for at last.

Thank you so much.

I liked it as soon as I came into the home. The nurse was very helpful when she showed us around.
Location is good, I can travel by bus as you have a bus stop outside the home.

The deputy manager has very helpful with financial advice and has lowered our stress levels.

Called the home for my mother's emergency respite. The deputy manager was amazing. Do not know what I would have done without her amazing care.

They accommodated my mum that night, fantastic.

I was very worried to let my husband go for respite but the first day I was pleased with everything. The welcome was so tactfully done and he was made to feel special. I have not had to worry and wish I could have him there but I want him to be in our local town for full care.

My father has been in Branston Court for 10 years plus. The staff are always friendly and helpful. My dad is happy and content. I've never had any issues with the home. Staff are really supportive to my dad because he can be difficult at times.

Dad had a hip replacement and needed respite care due to me having a holiday pre-booked for a special occasion.

Dad received good care. The food was good accommodating his vegetarian diet. The only problem was the majority of residents had dementia and dad felt a little isolated. The staff were very kind and caring.

My Father was given excellent care during his stay at the end of his life. The palliative care was exceedingly respectful and he died with dignity. The staff are very caring in a professional and friendly manner. The accommodation is like a high-quality hotel. So grateful that my Father was able to experience such excellent care.

Whilst the weather has been very good for the last few weeks I would like to see the resident who can walk or be pushed in a wheelchair be taken out into the garden area.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Branston Court Care Home

Thank you for your positive feedback. All colleagues at Branston encourage and assist residents to access outside space and the garden whenever possible. Unfortunately, in recent weeks, during the very hot weather, the garden has been less well used. Health agencies advice has been to keep our...

I'm very pleased with the care given, if I have a problem I go to the manager and it gets dealt with immediately.
I would like to see residents taken into the grounds for fresh air when possible.

The staff work very hard I'm sure you really need extra one on duty to be able to do this.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Branston Court Care Home

Very satisfied with all aspects of the care home but do feel the prices are high (and confusing). I acknowledge that this is not always the desire of the care home but outside influence. The staff have always been lovely and have spent many a chatty moment discussing a number of topics with residents and carers. They always make sure the resident is included.

The level of care at Branston Court Care Home compared to other homes my mother has been a resident in is second to none.

Very caring and attentive staff who in my opinion go over and above the call of their duties. I feel my mother has been very well cared for and is very comfortable and settled in one word "Excellent".

Branston Court has been an excellent home for my mother who suffers severe dementia. The staff are very caring and the home is well run. The rooms, food and surrounding are also very good.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?

“To me, it means being person-centred and caring for residents both individually and holistically.”

As a Registered Nurse and specialist in Adult Nursing, Ruth has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.

Having worked in the care sector for many years, Ruth closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.

When asked why she originally chose to work in the care sector, Ruth said:

“It was because I love caring for people. It’s something that started when my grandad was poorly when I was eight and I needed to help put his socks on, I took real pride in caring for him. I’ve never worked in any other sector.”

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Ruth remarked:

“I enjoy leading my team and encouraging them to create great things, plus I love working in a family-friendly environment”.

Ruth has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievement being a mother to two sons. Outside of work, Ruth enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys, especially taking them to play for their football teams. She also enjoys watching Derby County.
