An excellent nursing home. I cannot fault them. Passionate owners and staff who have the residents care and best interests at heart. The new build looks lovely and the unique addition of a pub is popular with residents and offers them a lovely social aspect to being in the nursing home. Staff were polite
and helpful. The home was clean, well kept with some beautiful gardens which some of the resident enjoy sitting out in, in the summer.

This is an excellent care home. Clean, efficient and well run with caring staff. We always felt my Mother who was in Audley Ward was treated with dignity until she passed away and all the staff were excellent. We were always consulted and all our needs and requirements were met. I cannot praise Bradwell
Hall Nursing Home highly enough at a very difficult and emotional time for the family.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.680)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.680) out of 10 for Bradwell Hall Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.983 for Bradwell Hall Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.983
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.697 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bradwell Hall Nursing Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 127 registered maximum number of service users is 25.4. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 25.4 = 0.197
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Care Home Manager Joined: 2023

My name is Karen, and I am the Home Manager at Bradwell Hall, where I have been in post since December 2023. I have dedicated my career to the care sector, beginning in 1998 after college and completing my nursing qualifications in 2007. Since then, I have worked extensively with adults with complex needs, including formal mental and physical health diagnoses. By 2009, I had progressed into my first leadership position, where I began honing my skills in care management.

Throughout my career, I have remained passionate about providing individualised, person-centred care. My approach is to support each individual based on their unique needs and abilities, rather than focusing solely on diagnoses. As a manager, I believe it is essential to know the ladies and gentlemen who reside at Bradwell Hall personally; we are like a family. I also maintain strong clinical oversight of their care, which allows me to ensure that my team has the support they need to deliver the highest standards of care to every resident.

Hi, my name is Clare and I’m the head housekeeper at Bradwell Hall Nursing Home.

My role is assisting the housekeeping team on a daily basis with all general duties of housekeeping, including carpet cleaning, laundry, deep cleans, maintaining the cleanliness of bathrooms and communal areas and making sure residents’ rooms are turned out to a high standard. Due to the nature of my job, I assist on 8 units across the home and get the chance to get to know all the residents and have a daily catch up, which puts a smile on their faces. I get great pleasure in assisting the care team and always happy to help.

Job Title: Audley Suite Manager Joined: 2024

Hello, my name is Michelle Wooding, and I am the Manager of the Audley Unit here at Bradwell Hall Nursing Home. I grew up in the beautiful Isle of Man, and I’ve had the privilege of working in the nursing profession for 29 years. I started my career as an auxiliary nurse and worked my way up, gaining experience in various roles. Over time, I progressed to senior care, then completed my nurse training, and became a Clinical Lead. I’ve also held roles as a Deputy Manager and Home Manager at another nursing home.

However, I decided to step down from my managerial role to become Unit Manager at Audley so I could work more closely with the residents. I truly love my job, and the relationships I build with both staff and residents are what make it so fulfilling.

I’ve been told by staff that I’m kind, caring, a good listener, friendly, and always willing to help. I pride myself on going above and beyond for both the team and the residents. One of our residents once said I’m “an angel without wings,” which touched me deeply and reinforced my passion for this work.

Being in a leadership role allows me to create a caring, supportive environment where both staff and residents feel valued. I’m proud to be part of such a dedicated team, and I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact at Bradwell Hall.
