My mum has so far been living at Fauld house home for about 3 years.
She first moved there needing full time care, but was able to mobilise with help. She has Alzheimers.
At that point she was encouraged by staff to participate as much as she wanted to, with home activities, buy if she wanted to just sit and moan, she could.lol.
Now mum is bedridden full time, with no speech, mobility, or continence. I am fully confident that the care staff will make her life comfy and clean through til the end.

They allow visits 24/7 and don't require advance notice.

Staff are wonderful, the care is very good. Great food and activities. Lots of social activities for residents and relatives to join in to do together. Both of my parent have been residents and when my dad passed away in April everyone was so caring and respectful. From the manager to the cleaning staff. My mum has been well cared for and indeed loved.
The only down side to the home is that the communal areas could do with a little TLC
and a lick of paint When visiting, space is limited for families to get together and toilet facilities for visitors are in dire need of an upgrade.

Having said that the atmosphere and staff make up for those shortcomings.

Reply from Laura Mosedale, Care Home Manager at Fauld House Nursing Home

Thank you for your kind review. Comments regarding upgrade of the home and visitors toilets are noted and will be passed onto the Directors for consideration.

I can't praise all the team at Fauld House enough. My Mum became a resident here back in May this year. She has quite advanced Alzheimer's and has been really struggling with this terrible disease. It's heart breaking to see her slowly not becoming Mum anymore, but the team are all so patient, kind and loving towards her. Her room is always clean, lovely meals and lots of fun activities. Everyone is attentive and offers support for the families as much as the residents. All the staff at Fauld House are a credit to the owners and we can't thank them enough for everything they do x

Thank you for the lovely comments. It's always hard to make the transition into a care home, not just for the person in question but for the loved ones that remain at home but we always endeavour to do our best, hopefully alleviating loved ones fears. Moving into a care home can be a daunting time for all involved, so our main priority is to be open and transparent with families and all involved.

My mother is in the best place as far as my brother and I are concerned. The staff are fantastic and the manager is second to none.

When we visit mom, they are there to answer any questions, and greet us as family. We are glad we were recommended this particular Care Home.

What a fabulous caring team of nurses and carers with an excellent management team. My Dad has had the best care with lovely people, great food and so clean in every area.

Anyone thinking of placing their loved one here will not be disappointed.

My Father got dementia very quickly and it proved to be very challenging to manage his cognitive issues. I couldn't have wished my Father to be in a better Nursing Home than Fauld.
The staff are extremely caring, and they constantly keep the residents entertained, or if they want quiet time they have that choice.

After a very challenging six months my Father is now settling into his new home. I can't thank them enough.

As a family responsible for a 96 year old widow with dementia, we recently had the unenviable task of having to find a new care home and navigate our way through the system regarding local authority funding including the lottery of 'brokerage'. Thankfully, the process put us in contact with Fauld House and ever since our first discussions and face to face meetings, we have nothing but praise to say about the care our mum has received.
The carers and all of the staff made mum so welcome from when she arrived that she has never once felt frightened or worried about the change. It simply could not have gone any better.

Every time we visit, we are made to feel so welcome and part of the 'Fauld House family' in a matter of weeks. We could also quickly tell by speaking to other residents and their visitors that the level of care provided is exceptional. We obviously hope that our positive experience continues although we have no reasons to fear that it won't.

It is our absolute pleasure to care for your mum. Putting one's trust into another person to care for a loved one is not the easiest, and Fauld House endeavours to make the transition as easy as possible.

I feel the care and treatment of my mother has been excellent. There is always someone around to talk to when needed. Information about my mother is passed on quickly and honestly. It has been a very difficult decision putting my mother into care but the staff and management has made it much easier to deal with.

My mother had been a resident for 6.5 years and mum was always treated with respect, love and care. The staff have continually made us feel welcome, we as a family always knew mum was looked after by loving, caring and professional staff at all times. We lost our dear mum on the 30th December 24, we would like to thank all the staff for looking after our whole family whilst we said our final goodbyes to our dearest mum over the last weeks of her life.

Everyone made my mum feel so welcome and cared for. All staff and environment have the residents in mind. My mum became a resident just before Christmas and it was lovely to be invited to join mum for Christmas dinner - making great memories. I have nothing but praise for the staff and home. My father has just joined Fauld Care home as a resident. He was admitted at very short notice and the welcome, care and professional way in which he was greeted on arrival was exemplary. He was made to feel valued and treated with dignity and empathy. Similarly I was made to feel very welcome and time taken to ensure that I was fully informed. His room is lovely, warm and welcoming.

The care he has received during his first week has been faultless. I have have been able to leave him, knowing that he is safe, comfortable, warm, well fed and that all his care needs are being met. The staff are patient, understanding and caring.

Above all, the engagement of all the staff with the residents is a real strength and taking time to interact and talk to them ensures that they feel valued. I am extremely grateful to have found such a 'home from home' for my dad.

My sister had been in this care home for the past 11 years when she passed away in Dec 2024. She was treated with such compassion and dignity when she passed away in Fauld House Nursing Home. We her family were talking about her after her death and we said 'that she had really been in one of her happiest times in her life being there' the staff are really amazing always smiling and interacting with all of the residents, and we the visitors are made very welcome too. I thank them all for the care that was given to her in her past years there.

My mother went into respite whilst my dad was in hospital, she never came out as she was diagnosed with dementia and my dad wouldn't be able to look after her . The care that has been given to her has a amazing, especially when she hasn't been at her best. The staff make us feel so welcome, especially my dad, always makes him a coffee when he visits mum, and always asks myself when I visit with her granddaughter. The staff always keep me updated with how she has been and when I want to ask anything all the staff are happy to answer my question or they find out the answer. Mum will obviously get worse and I feel that she is in the best place for all of her needs, they all do a fantastic job and I have no worries with the care that mum receives.

This wonderful nursing home offers the very best of care. My mum and dad were safe, happy and treated with dignity at every stage of there time at Fauld. The cleanliness and food was really good, rooms lovely, plenty of stimulation and activities provided sadly not observed very often allowing residents to disappear, in one known incident with not a good outcome, this does need resolving.

Couldn't wish for nicer staff, everyone from the domestic staff, maintenance, kitchen, office, activities, carers, nurses, nurse in charge and the manager all make my parents and us as visiting family and friends feel we are part of a big extended family. And they take pride in their role. The manager and nurse in charge are so dedicated, it is more than a job for them, and that must rub off on the other staff.

It is an honour to care for your parents. We love our job and always try our best to go above and beyond to make the transition from living independently in their own homes to then residing in a care home as nice as it can be as we understand this can be difficult for both service users and their loved ones.

My grandma has been a resident at Fauld House for just over 2 years. She has complex needs and has at times struggled with behavioural issues due to her dementia. The staff at Fauld have always been so compassionate and professional and not only made my grandma feel safe and at home but also made us as a family feel at ease knowing while she can't live at home, Fauld is a home away from home.

I walked into Fauld House Nursing Home and was introduced to the home manager. Immediately I felt that she and her team were the correct choice for my mom. I had tried to care for Mom at home but as her mobility became compromised I relived that skilled care was required.
The manager and her team are exceptional. They demonstrated empathy towards Mom and me.
Mom was extremely grateful for the care she received and the interaction between herself and the team was evidently relaxed and mutually respectful. Mom resided at Fauld for twelve months. In that time she was immersed in many stimulating activities which she really enjoyed.
I’m a recently retired nurse. I witnessed exceptional kindness from all grades and teams.
The kitchen staff do an amazing job, food is exceptional.
The laundry is excellent and the clothes are ironed, good to see Mom looking smart.
Activities were many, quizzes, flower arranging, craft activities, going out for fish and chips etc.

Thank you to all.
