I have been here a couple of months. Whilst staying at Wheaton Aston Court I have been surprised at the excellent care and the kindness and generosity with the staff within the home. It has been a pleasure to stay here. The home is clean and excellent with cooks and fresh food on offer daily and always
options. The activities are on offer 6 days a week and all the residents enjoy them. I have been to a few.

I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. I like the way they ask my mom's consent first before they do anything with her. The food looks appetizing and healthy. The kitchen staff are enthusiastic and generous. The staff nurses are willing to talk at any time although they are super busy.

Having left a previous home which was in special measures (CQC) and then closed, Wheaton Aston Court was a breath of fresh air.
Introducing some handicrafts to activities would be good.
Mum was happy there and we were happy with everything about the place.
Mom (and other residents) complained to
me that the pastry was never cooked properly and the cakes were very dry. They didn't want me to say anything as they didn't want to get anyone into trouble. But that was the only complaint I heard from anyone.
The home, the staff and everything about it was fantastic.

From the initial phone call to moving Dad in, I have found the staff to be so efficient and helpful, making what has been a traumatic time as a family less stressful. All of dad's needs have been taken into account - even down to what colour he would like his room as it was being redecorated. Most importantly,
it has given us peace of mind knowing he is being so wonderfully cared for. I cannot thank them enough!

During mum's stay in Wheaton Aston Court, the care that she has received has been fantastic. Her progress has been amazing, even in the first week. The staff and management are all very friendly and professional, always having time to talk to mum and family. It's great to see that everyone has a positive
attitude. Food always good and exercise and social groups for all. Highly recommended.

My mum was transferred here from hospital. I wasn't sure what to expect at first but was reassured as soon as I visited the first time.
Staff are lovely, can't praise them enough for the care and time they are giving my mum.
Food is lovely, everyone is so welcoming and nothing is too much for them.
Highly
recommend this home!

My mum has been here 6 weeks. I have found the staff to be very co-operative and friendly. Wheaton Aston Court seems a very pleasant care home. Not a criticism of anyone here, but a little far out of the way for us. When my mum came in she was struggling to walk, and due to the care she has received,
has come on a long way. Hopefully, she will be able to go back home soon, but her stay has been very good for her rehabilitation.

Absolutely fabulous care home, so welcoming. Very clean and friendly. I am able to make myself a cup of tea and piece of cake when I visit my dear friend who is 94. (Something that you never hear of in care homes).
I would recommend this care home it's a shame I didn't know about it when my own father
needed respite.
Well done to all management and staff here.

I take my hat off to all the care assistants and nurses they have lots of patience, time and care as she is not an easy person, to say the least. Very demanding always pressing the buzzer for assistance even when nurses have just left. They are all amazing I can't praise them enough. I would recommend
the home to anyone.

I approached the care home for respite care for Mum. She was later diagnosed with cancer and became a permanent resident. The process of admittance was excellent and all information was explained to us fully.
Mum was made very welcome and assisted to settle into her comfortable room. We took in some
personal items for her room. During her stay, Mum was treated with care and dignity and her medical needs met to an excellent standard. The staff/carers were cheerful and happy to help Mum, visitors and family. They were hard working, approachable, polite and dedicated. The home was clean, pleasant and well maintained.
The range of entertainment activities was good - the Christmas party was well organised and attended.
The food was always well presented and varied. Mum's end of life care and the support given to family was excellent. Once my sister in law and I were talking to a Sister about Mum's care and the alarm bells went off. The rapid response of the staff was amazing. Thank you.

My gran was admitted to the care home in September 2017 after a couple of months of decline in her health. We were visited as a family - myself, mum and gran by the manager who did her initial assessment. She was very thorough and answered any questions we had. Gran was admitted a week later and her
person-centred plan was put in place. However, news came to light that gran had cancer - which had become quite aggressive and now needed palliative care. This was organised quickly and efficiently and she was made as comfortable as possible. The staff are always friendly, smiley which helps at such a difficult time.

I knew as soon as I entered Wheaton Ason Court that this was the place where my husband would receive the comfort and nursing care that he needed. The home is bright and fresh and airy, with fresh flowers everywhere. The staff are all so friendly and caring and nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere
is full of laughter and the residents are like one big happy family. A real home from home.

I am made to feel welcome every day when I visit my husband and it gives me great comfort to know that he is looked after so well.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.403)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.403) out of 10 for Wheaton Aston Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Wheaton Aston Court is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.403 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wheaton Aston Court is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.2 = 0.278
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
