Woodford House is a friendly, happy house, acknowledging all carers. Obviously, there are occasions when, due to the mental state of some residents. There are tears which cannot be avoided, but staff do their best to overcome the situation. All rooms are kept as clean and tidy as is humanly possible. The carers and supporting staff are excellent; they attend to any major or minor incidents that occur or are on the point of occurring with the same professionalism. You see them watching residents and move immediately to prevent an incident happening. They are good at talking people out of situations.

The care that my dad has received since he has moved to Woodford has been excellent. There is a welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk in, and the staff are always trying their best to entertain everyone. Food was one of dad's comforts when he lived alone. Woodford does their very best to cater for his random requests, going out of their way in their own time to get him what he wants.

I can only thank everyone who cares for my husband. He has settled and receives the utmost care under difficult situations at times.

My dad has been at Woodford for over a year and it is apparent how loving, caring and nurturing the staff are to all of their residents. They have taken the time to get to know Dad on a personal level and have provided him with a multitude of activities in and out of the home, which has supported him in maintaining some sort of normality during the later stages of his dementia. During his residency, he has visited the Grand Theatre and the local pub for his lunch, which I know he thoroughly enjoyed and has been on many walks. Communication at Woodford is incredible, with the staff being continuously proactive, supportive and informative in person and over the phone. The home has put on various events throughout the year which are always incredibly enjoyable to attend. It is evident how much effort and time the staff have for their residents and it is so reassuring to know that my lovely Dad is receiving the care that he requires and deserves. Forever grateful to the staff at Woodford!

My dad has been Woodford House for 2 months and we have absolutely no issues. We noticed immediately the number of staff on hand to help support the residents and this continues to be the case. I appreciate that there are better looking buildings but ultimately the question that needs to be asked is 'what does my loved one need?' We looked around many homes and so glad we chose this one. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, both in their help to dad as well as support to family members. I would list them all but limited on word count. The experience from ensuring everyone is moving regularly, snacking, eating, drinking regularly, encouraging engagement, the timing of activities, nursing experience, empathy, the list goes on. There is also a good mix of young and more experienced and I've experience of other homes in the past but they could definitely take a lesson or two from Tina and the team. Thank you to all and my advice, look at the people not the building.

The only inconvenience is that there is no public transport. Apart from that its well done Woodford House.

The Christmas party at the care home was truly heart-warming and thoughtfully arranged. It was clear how much care and effort the staff put into making the day special for the residents, particularly those living with dementia. The decorations created a festive yet calm atmosphere, and the music was familiar and comforting, which really helped engage the residents. Our mom seemed relaxed and happy, and it was lovely to see her smiling and responding to the songs and activities. The staff were attentive, patient, and genuinely kind, taking time to include everyone at their own pace and ensuring no one felt overwhelmed. As a family, it meant a great deal to see our mom enjoying the occasion and to feel confident she is in such caring hands. We are very grateful to the whole team for creating such a meaningful Christmas celebration and for the ongoing dedication they show every day.

Woodford house has been home for my dad for three years and words cannot describe what a wonderful place it is, to show how happy we are with the care it became my uncle's home eighteen months later and he remained there until his death. The care they show not only to the residents but to us as family is amazing. They threw a little party for my mums birthday earlier in the year and for my recent birthday they sent me a card from my dad complete with his fingerprints. Putting a loved one in a care home is one of the most difficult decisions to make but the peace of mind that comes when you know they are so well cared for is unparalleled. The staff are truly amazing and we couldn't be more grateful for the care they give.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback and kind words. We are truly delighted to hear that you are pleased with the care and support provided. Our team works hard to ensure everyone feels safe, respected, and cared for, and it means a great deal to them to know their efforts are appreciated. I find Woodford House Nursing Home meets current government legislation and guidelines for the care of the residents in their care. However, I find a major problem with communication between some management and staff. Also following up and providing feedback on complaints is very ad-hoc I find there is confusion when booking appointments for visitors or hospital consultations and errors regarding paperwork. When I have complained formally regarding this I received a corporate verbal apology not written and an assurance this will not happen again. It does happen again and yet another apology. I have concerns regarding health and safety in certain areas and have addressed these concerns with the manager. I feel the building and security is reminiscent of a 1980s institutional centre and has not really come onto the 21st century regarding vision, scope and development for the future needs of the residents and client needs.

Lisa was officially appointed as Care Manager in June 2024, following her thriving performance in the Acting Care Manager role since 2022, whilst the current Manager was taking an extended period of Maternity Leave.

Charlotte was promoted to Senior Nurse in June 2023, whilst still working at sister home Perton Manor. She was the first Nurse to be appointed to the newly implemented role, bridging the gap between Nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
In January 2024, the opportunity arose for Charlotte to transfer to Woodford House, supporting the Nursing team in a senior capacity. Her day-to-day duties include supervision, guidance and mentoring of the Nursing team, liaising with external professionals to complete client assessments and reviews, medication management, rota management, auditing and tending to the well-being and clinical needs of all clients within the home.
Charlotte’s career began as a Nursery Nurse for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). She soon developed a desire for higher education, and in 2006, qualified as a Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD). Working as a Registered Nurse for just over a decade, Charlotte discovered her passion for further developing her skills by exploring other fields of Nursing. In December 2017, she approached Capulet Care and was successfully appointed as a Registered Nurse with the company.
Expanding on her knowledge and skills, Charlotte has since completed a Practice Assessor & Practice Supervisor course via Wolverhampton University. This enables her to mentor, assess and sign off competencies for new Nurses, or Student Nurses who are working at Woodford House on placements.
Charlotte continues to build on her skill set, growing with the role and looking forward to what the future holds.
“Since joining the organisation, I have had the pleasure of developing my skills across 2 of Capulet Care’s homes, working with a varied client group living with a multitude of different mental health and complex care needs. I continue to enjoy further personal and professional development with the company and within my role as Senior Nurse.”
