Very good set up, it does what it says on the tin. I found the people there very caring and professional and has changed any negative views I had on care homes, due to the care with my mother and late father. Thank you.

I am extremely pleased with all aspects of my husbands care. It has been a very challenging time and the staff have worked very hard to keep everyone safe whilst trying to make everything is normal for them. We have been able to make video calls and window visits and, more recently, use the Covid safe
pod to remain in contact. I am very grateful to all the staff for a job well done under very difficult circumstances.

My sisters and I are very satisfied with the care given to our mother. She is treated with respect, love and friendship. Her physical needs are taken care of with dignity in mind. The staff keep us updated as to any issues relating to our mother, and we have complete confidence in them.

I am very happy with the care my dad is receiving especially during the current pandemic with all the staff working very hard to keep all the residents safe. We have been able to keep in touch via Skype, window visits and more recently pod visits, all of which has made extra work for the staff and they
have done an excellent job for which I am very grateful.

My wife was admitted from hospital. She received the utmost care and attention anyone could hope for. I was not allowed to see her, due to current restrictions, but every time I phoned to enquire about her, nothing was too much trouble and the staff gave me a number so I could get through quicker and
I was so grateful for that. Unfortunately, my wife's dementia got worse, but the staff passed on my message of love to her, this I shan't forget. She received the utmost care, she was brought home on 27th November but got progressively worse and passed away on 5th January. I do apologise for late response

My mum had the privilege of spending her 6-week dementia assessment with Kenilworth grange. During her stay, she was extremely well looked after. She was encouraged to take part in all activities and was even spoilt on her birthday with a surprise birthday cake. A very special place with staff that
are like "angels!.

My sister has been at Kenilworth Grange Care Home, Kenilworth for a number of years. As a family, we have great appreciation for the quality of care given.
We have always felt able to discuss her care with staff at all levels.
They contact us when necessary. Staff are respectful and friendly. Her
room is well cared for her.
I always feel confident that she has the best of care. She is safe and treated as an individual.
The food is good and attractively presented.
She is fortunate to be in such a good home.

My partner came here as he couldn't do anything for himself. Now he is eating very well and feeding himself. He has come on so well with all the help he is getting from this home. He is so happy here and my mind is at rest as the care is wonderful.

My nan has been a different person since moving to Kenilworth Grange. She has vascular dementia and was extremely withdrawn/anxious and unhappy living alone, had many falls and I found this very worrying.
The change in her is amazing. The staff at Kenilworth Grange are kind, caring, professional and
above all treat my nan with complete dignity. There are various daily activities and staff are always available/visible to talk to at any time to check on her progress.
The food choice is amazing and mealtimes are in a calm environment, encouragement is given if needed.
I can’t thank everyone at Kenilworth Grange enough – my Nan is so happy and well looked after, which in turn gives me complete peace of mind.

Thank you.

My husband seems to be settling in although we thought he would not do so because he has always been so close to his family.
He does need a lot of help, especially at night when he doesn't sleep a lot.
I do admire the patience and kindness of the staff with him.

Mum has resided at Kenilworth Grange since July 2017. She has been treated with the utmost respect, kindness and care.
The facilities are very good, all bedrooms ensuite, dining room/lounge, outside gardens. Hairdressing, and chiropody also available.
Menus are varied, the food looks appetising.
There is various entertainment daily, which residents are encouraged to partake. Mum is in a unit where there is a good ratio of nursing and care staff. Our family visit at different times and on different days, so see how the residents are treated by the staff. Their care is faultless, they have the utmost patience, kindness and professionalism and are always friendly and obliging with us too when we are there. The administration staff are always available when we visit and nothing is too much trouble. There is currently some renovation work going on, us as relatives were given advance notice of this, a nice touch. We know that Mum is safe and well cared for in Kenilworth Grange.

If anyone is looking for a care home in the local area this is definitely one to choose. It is always clean and the staff are always happy and smiling, the food is fantastic and there is always plenty of it. Teas and coffees seem to flow in abundance, along with cake. But most importantly, the residents
are well looked after and cared for. I have no worries about how my mother is being looked after. She is in very safe hands.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.414)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.414) out of 10 for Kenilworth Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.414 for Kenilworth Grange is calculated as follows: ( (205 Excellents x 5) + (106 Goods x 4) + (26 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (8 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 350 Ratings = 4.414
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kenilworth Grange is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I joined the team at Kenilworth Grange in October 2011. I’m a Registered Nurse, and I’ve continued my nursing education to achieve a master’s degree in nursing, as well as midwife and social and health care qualifications.

To do this role well, you need to be analytical and a team player. It’s important to be an effective communicator and a role model who can lead the team. You also need up-to-date clinical skills and the ability to manage the home.

I have a good rapport with my colleagues and enjoy managing the home as a unit. My favourite part of the day is ensuring the team's skill mix is just right. Contributing to health and safety training has been a highlight of my career, and I take great pride in empowering colleagues through clinical competencies.
