My brother has been in the Care Home for over 5 years. He is fortunate that the Care Home arranges trips to various shows which meets his passion for live entertainment - even went to see the ABBA show in London. The most reassuring aspect is that he is happy where he is located. From recent past experience, the Care Home kept me informed when he had a short spell in hospital. Visiting is not a problem but encouraged.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, your kind feedback means a lot. I'll share your comments with the team. Best wishes.
My brother has now been at Newlands for over 3 years now. I would not want him to go anywhere else as the care is exceptional! The carers are always warm and friendly and the home is a pleasant place to be with a good atmosphere. The home do so much with the residents including trips, parties and entertainment. I am always kept up to date with my brothers care through chatting with carers when I visit and the portal is always useful to log on to.
Thank you so much for leaving us a wonderful review. Your feedback means a lot and it's our pleasure caring for your brother. Best wishes.
I have been visiting Newlands since my friend moved there in 2020. The staff have always been welcoming to myself when visiting. They take very good care of my friend who now has complex needs and great difficulty communicating. When attending her care reviews I am always reassured by how well they know her, her needs and personality. Thank you to the whole team at Newlands
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us - we really value your feedback. Kind regards.
I have been a trustee for a long term disabled lady who has resided at Newlands for many years. I have always been impressed by the kindly care and attention that the home has shown towards the lady who is dependent upon a wheelchair for mobility. She has her own room with ensuite facilities and is professionally supported at all times. She is extremely happy living at the home but is able to travel into the town of Kenilworth on her own in the special mobility chair provided by the council. She takes advantage of this on most days and has developed a wide circle of friends both in the home and around the town.
The home's dedicated transport is available for longer journeys to nearby shops and restaurants. She has also been able to visit concerts, shows places of interest with an attendant carer.
It is comforting to see that she is so happy in the environment of Newlands.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review and for your wonderful feedback, it means a lot. I'll share your comments with the team. Best wishes.
My cousin has been at Newlands for nearly 3 years and has been very happy and content since she arrived. The staff are brilliant nothing is too much trouble. They put lots of events on for the residents . Very welcoming when you visit no matter what time of day you go. They certainly put the residents health and wellbeing first

I like that the entire area is on one level so the residente in wheelchairs have freedom to move around the home. My brother is able to freely go out if he wishes and also the home has a resident minibus which enables them to take people to shows or events.
Thankyou to all the staff for doing such a wonderful job x
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for the kind words, it means a lot. I'll share your comments with the team, who I'm sure will appreciate hearing your feedback. Best wishes.
She engages in a variety of activities both within the care home and on external visits.
During a recent spell in hospital the staff ensured that they continued to support the family and our cousin always acting in her best interest until thankfully she was able to return back to the care home.
The place is always, bright welcoming and it's a pleasure to visit.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us - we really appreciate your feedback. It's our absolute pleasure to have your cousin living with us.
As a relative,I feel my son is happy with everything at Newlands .He seems to be happy when we visit. His room always looks clean and in good decorative order. The staff are always friendly and have time to talk .My one concern is the shower in his bathroom. He only has the use of one hand therefore how does he wash himself and hold the shower? Could he not a have shower he can stand under as he's over 6 ft tall, may I respectfully request a rain shower or something similar so he can stand under it.
Thank you for leaving a review us. We really appreciate your feedback. I'd be more than happy to discuss your shower proposal next time you visit and what's possible. Kind regards.
The home provides three wholesome meals a day with drinks facilities in the day rooms. There are plenty of activities for those residents that require them and television facilities in the rooms. Visitors are made very welcome and there are always helpful staff available to discuss and resolve any concerns.
I am very grateful for the ease of communication and the welcoming atmosphere that the staff at Newlands always provide. Thanks!

I have always found Newlands to be an excellent place to visit. The staff are friendly, efficient, and helpful and all the residents seem very happy and well cared for. It is a very happy place where everyone is made to feel valued and special.

He really enjoys it there and calls it 'home'.
The staff make lots of effort to ensure he's well cared for and happy and communication is always good.
The home always makes sure my son can get to special family events and the odd surprise. We particularly like the new Hub area as it's very family-orientated.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us. We're incredibly pleased to have our new cafe and Hub which have given residents and the community a new space to enjoy together.
Despite the considerable physical challenges my brother has he always appears happy whenever we visit. This is due to the wonderful care, understanding and professionalism of the staff. The last time we visited the home was nearing completion of its refurbishment and it was looking great. I know my brother gets the best possible care and would like to thank the staff for the great job they do.
Thank you so much for leaving us a review. Your feedback means a lot to us and it's our pleasure looking after your brother. Best wishes.
My husband has been in Newlands since 2017 after looking at a large number of care homes and from the beginning the caring and friendly atmosphere is outstanding. They have supported us on this difficult journey many times when emotionally our family have found life difficult. I will be forever grateful for their care and understanding.
Thank you for your lovely feedback - we really appreciate you taking the time to write a review for us. Very best wishes.
My son has a particular interest in music from the 1970s/1980s and likewise, a member of staff also likes this genre of music. The staff member is happy to find gigs for my son to attend accompanied by him as his career.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us. We really appreciate your lovely feedback and I'll share your comments with the rest of the team. Best wishes.
My husband has been in Newlands since the end of January and I’ve found it very nice, if I’ve had any problems they have been dealt with and they’ve only been teething problems as my husband has gbm4 and for 6 years I’ve cared for him so finding it hard to let go of caring for him still, there’s been a few carers that have been agency and quite honest really don’t know why they went into care but it’s all been dealt with. I find it a very approachable place the residents that I’ve met seem happy. Lots of work is being done inside the building and it all seems exciting. We went round a few care/nursing homes and Newlands was a place myself and my children liked from the first time we walked into the place.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us - we really appreciate your feedback and we're always here if there's anything you'd like to talk to me or the team about. Best wishes.
From a concerned relative's perspective, I am continually in awe of the care team and the managers. The atmosphere in the home is so relaxed and friendly and when things do not go as planned e.g. an enforced hospital admission, I have always received timely and appropriate communication from the team to let me know what is going on.
I'm always made to feel welcome when I visit and am relaxed in the knowledge that my big brother is in great hands, is getting the very best out of life and importantly, is happy.
Thank you for your lovely feedback - we really appreciate you taking the time to write a review for us. Very best wishes.
Newlands Care Home is run in a very professional manner and the care of the staff is very caring and considerate in all aspects.
My neighbour is always happy when staying with Newlands and always looks forward for further stays.
Friendly and very homely.
The manager of Newlands is very professional and very helpful.
Excellent care home, highly recommended.

The care at Newlands is very high. I never worry about my brother there; I know he is in a safe pair of hands. The staff are very friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. My brother is very happy there and loves his trips out.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It's always lovely to have positive feedback about what we do. I've shared your comments with the team. Best wishes.
My niece broke her knee and has needed extra care because of her disability and the staff have been especially kind and considerate during her recovery.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us, we really appreciate your feedback. Best wishes.
Since my sister has been at Newlands home, she has been in the best of care of all the staff, with who she has a fun-loving and lovely relationship with. We couldn’t have asked for a better team who are kind, supportive and provide a person-centred approach at all times for all of the residents. The team have been brilliant in their approach during covid and organising visits in a safe way to see my sister as I recently got married and moved away. They have always been so supportive and welcoming to me, my husband and family, especially during celebrations such as my sister’s 30th and my wedding. They go above and beyond to suit the individual needs of my sister and family. The home manager works so hard to look after the staff and residents to ensure the best care is provided at all times. Thank you for all of your amazing care; it really is a place where my sister can call home and we couldn’t have wished for anymore.
Thank you for leaving such a kind review for us - it's our pleasure to look after your sister. I've passed on your lovely feedback to the rest of the team. Best wishes

Meet the Team (1)

I’m the Home Manager for Newlands and have been with WCS Care for over 20 years.
I started at Newlands as an Enabler/Carer for a year, before learning more about care delivery and leadership as a Senior Enabler. After returning from maternity leave, I developed my frontline experience as a Night Enabler before overseeing and leading our resident-focused care as Care Co-ordinator, Deputy Home Manager and then Home Manager.
What I love about being at WCS are the connections I've had with many of our residents. I’ve been at Newlands ever since joining, so I’ve been able to build special relationships with the people we’ve been caring for over the years.
I also love making sure my team are happy and aware I'm always there to listen and support them when needed.
Outside of work, I like going to festivals with my son, relaxing in nature and baking special occasion cakes for friends and family.
