Richmond Villages Bede is a vibrant and integrated retirement community designed to enhance the health, happiness, and wellbeing of its residents. With a wealth of services and facilities available on-site, the village offers a lifestyle that promotes independence, comfort, and connection.

Richmond Villages Bede is an award-winning retirement village set in established grounds located on the outskirts of Coventry, a cathedral city in the heart of the West Midlands.

At the heart of the vibrant retirement village is the care home, with 47 en-suite bedrooms (9 of which are newly refurbished residential dementia rooms), providing first-class residential dementia, nursing, respite and convalescent care and care for the young and physically disabled.

The retirement village features excellent on-site facilities that include a restaurant with a terrace, a number of relaxing sitting rooms, hair and nail salon, free Wi-Fi, activities areas, plus landscaped gardens and an orchard.

All rooms are tastefully decorated by a team of specialist interior designers and feature electric profiling beds, a range of furniture, TV, telephone, en-suite shower room and Wi-Fi access.

The village is run by a village manager and a dedicated team of employees who are trained to deliver only the best possible care to the residents.

Unlike traditional care homes, Richmond Villages Bede uses its carers and nurses solely for the purpose of caring and supporting residents, whilst fully trained hospitality and housekeeping staff look after meal preparation and cleaning.

To further enhance the well-being and enjoyment of residents, the village also has a dedicated activities team. The team provides a daily activities programme that includes day trips where transport is provided by Richmond Villages Bede's own vehicles and dedicated drivers. The village also offers independent and assisted living properties.

Very sadly mum passed away in April of this year. Up until April, she had received unbelievable care from every member of the team at Bede Villiage, from the cleaning staff, restaurant and caring staff you could not have wished for better. Since her passing everyone at Bede has been quite wonderfully
supportive to me. In trying to sell mums apartment the 2 members involved have been so helpful and caring. All my thanks to everyone who has helped me and of course my lovely mum.

We visit our friends here and are always impressed by the cleanliness, friendly smiling staff, general atmosphere, care provided, opportunities to participate in stimulating activities for residents. The building a beautifully furnished environment, always attractive, modern, well decorated. It is welcoming
and looks efficient and well managed. Only one suggestion/ comment - maybe there could be more time spent chatting/engaging residents in conversation? Then - perfect!

The care of our daughter has been excellent.
Good nursing practices alongside a caring GP practice has prevented her from frequent hospital admissions.
The Nursing Home has a happy, friendly atmosphere and staff listen to patients acknowledging and providing for their needs.
They also listen to relatives

I cannot think of a better place to stay. The cleanliness captured by the attention of myself and my wife (since deceased).
The atmosphere is pleasant.

I could not ask for better care. The staff are magnificent. Everybody goes out of their way to say hello and have a little chat with me. I enjoy the facilities and look forward to my weekly hair appointments. The activities are varied and interesting and are the highlight of y day. I enjoy singing along
with the choir, particularly at Christmas. I appreciate the warm welcome Bede village affords my sisters, each time they visit from Ireland.

I don't need to use care or support. I am disabled with spinal arthritis and also arthritis in my hands (as you will see from my writing). I don't use the activities because of my condition. The only activity I use is Holy Communion, once a month. This I can manage because I don't have to sit for long
or stand at all. Also, I am a Christian, I want to partake.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. I found it very relaxing, everyone was very cheerful and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, the food was excellent. I was disappointed that the activities were not attended very well, perhaps a little encouragement would help. The gardens were beautiful.

I am very pleased with living here. I am very independent so don't always need to use all of the services provided but the ones I have used have been great. The day trips set up for the home are a great way to interact with others and get out to see different places and the food in the restaurant is

A very pleasant and friendly village. Excellently maintained gardens. Very pretty and colourful. All staff are very helpful and friendly, regardless of department Sometimes problems do arise but are quickly addressed and solved by management. Excellent place to live.

Management and staff very efficient and friendly. Mum does not always want to join in activities, but when she does, seems to enjoy them. Seems to enjoy the food but sometimes does not eat much. Her appetite is a bit up and down. Mum seems to be settled OK at Richmond Bede.

My dad was accepted into Bede Nursing Home after a rapid decline in his health.
Staff have taken good care of him and ensure he is comfortable.
Staff are open and honest about what is happening at all times, which we appreciate.

Tina Lawton

Job Title: Care Home Manager Joined: 2007

I joined Bede in 2007 as a Registered Nurse, in 2012 I had the fantastic opportunity to take on the role of Care Home Manager. In 2022, I was successful in becoming the Deputy Village Manager alongside my current role and I now support the Village Manager with the day to day running of Bede.


I love working within the Team at Bede, I am focused on providing compassionate and effective care for our residents and their families. I also thrive to bring the best out of my staff to ensure that we all work to the highest standard possible. I strongly believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality, person-centred care and support and love that I can be part of this.


Outside of work I enjoy Pilates, spending time with my family and ticking off my bucket list at any opportunity I get.

Job Title: Domiciliary Care Manager Joined: 2014

I joined Richmond Bede Village in August 2014, as the Domiciliary Care Manager.


Following university, my working career started with people with learning disabilities for Coventry City Council, as a Day Centre Officer and a Residential Social Worker.


This was proceeded by 15 years of working in Children’s Services within the Youth Justice System. As a Head of Care, I became accustomed to working within the constraints of the CQC, Ofsted and other similar regulatory frameworks.


Seeking a new challenge, yet wanting to remain in people services I have sought a diversified career in working with a more mature population – hence my application to Richmond Bede Village.


I am looking forward to new experiences and the challenges ahead.

I am the Village Manager at Richmond Villages Bede and have been part of the team for 16 years. I started my career at Bede as a Senior Administration Manager and took the position of Village Manager in June 2022.


Before joining Bede, I worked as a Finance Manager and Management Accountant so, I have a great understanding of the operational side of businesses. I have a wealth of experience in all aspects of our business and oversee all day-to-day functions to ensure the village runs to the standards expected. I am dedicated to my staff, residents and villagers and want to make sure they have the best experience possible here at Bede.


Outside of work, my passion is my family, and I love to spend as much time with them as possible.

I have worked at Richmond Village Bede for 2 years, but it felt like home after 2 weeks.


Having spent 25 years working in the property sector, combining property with retirement and care seemed like a natural progression.
