I reluctantly moved Mum into Richmond Bede Village as a frail 96-year old in August 2021. I need not have worried. In the five months that she was a resident and eventually bedbound in the Dementia Unit, the care was absolutely excellent. She was treated with the utmost dignity by staff who were kind, gentle and caring but professional, carefully monitoring her health and well-being whilst being encouraging and chatting to her at every opportunity. I visited regularly and found the general atmosphere was always friendly, the surroundings were always clean and tidy and the gardens lovely. A big thank you to all concerned from a very happy family.
Thank you so much for leaving such a lovely review, it was a pleasure to know and care for Mum and to get to know you all. I will pass on your words to our team.
Our Mum was a resident at Richmond Bede Village until she sadly passed away in October. We can't thank the staff enough for the exceptional care our Mum received. She was treated with respect and dignity always. She would often comment on how wonderful everyone was and that people were always popping in to see if she was ok. She felt very safe and well looked after, which made us as a family very happy. Thank you so much for taking care of her.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review for us. It was a pleasure to know and care for your Mum. I will pass on your kind words to the team.
I couldn’t be happier with the care and service my mother-in-law receives at Bede Village. Last week she celebrated her 90th birthday and all the staff went to great lengths to make it a special day despite the Covid restrictions. We had a wonderful lunch on the sun-filled patio and everyone had a great time. Many thanks to all at Bede Village.
Thank you for leaving us this review. We are glad that your mother-in-law enjoyed her birthday.
My mum is very happy here. Just loves the place. Caring staff and management. So well looked after. It’s perfect for her. I love the fact that I can rest knowing she’s happy and cared for. Great food in the restaurant. And in these difficult times, all residents have been looked after and cared for. Gorgeous gardens to enjoy too. I hope I can find a place so nice when I need to!
Thank you for taking the time to leave this lovely review for us. I will pass on your review to the teams.
The staff here are wonderful. I was treated with great kindness and care. They catered for all my whims - nothing was too much trouble. They treat us with great dignity. You can also have fun and laughter with them. I was lucky to have an absolutely splendid room overlooking the beautiful garden - planted with lovely bushes. I could walk around and watch nesting birds. Morning activities kept me occupied.
Thank you for leaving this lovely review for us. I will pass on your kind words to the team. It was a pleasure having you stay with us. When we are able you will have to pop in to see us.
My dad is really carefully supported by the Bede Team and cared for with compassion and dignity. They have his trust, and mine and have earnt it over and over. They are expert and courageous in pushing forward what is best for him with wider health partners and help the family support him in many ways. For the role they have played for him during the pandemic (almost everything!), we will be forever grateful. He couldn’t live anywhere better.
Thank you so much for leaving us such a lovely review, I will pass this onto the team, although it has been a difficult year it has been a pleasure to care for Dad and hopefully as things improve we will see more of our families.
In 2020, my father got Covid-19 whilst in hospital, so that he now needs care home support. At a very difficult time, the support from everyone at Bede Village has been excellent in arranging the transfer from hospital, sorting a nice room, supporting external physiotherapists and easy contact with the family despite not being able to have normal visits. When restrictions have permitted there have been activities including singers etc and the effort made to enable him to celebrate both his 90th birthday and his granddaughter getting married have been amazing - more than going the extra mile! I would thoroughly recommend Bede Village to anyone considering a move to a retirement village - don't leave it too late!
Thank you for your kind words and such amazing feedback. I will pass on this lovely review to the team. Although it has been a tough year for all it has been a pleasure getting to know Dad and becoming part of his family. Thank you again.
After such a dreadful year we wish to send a huge thank you to all the staff at Bede Village. Mum has been at Bede for 18 months now and we have never doubted that we made the right decision. Not only is it a lovely place, but the care is also second to none. The staff are extremely compassionate and always at the end of the phone whether it be Management or the nursing team to answer any questions and put our minds at rest and always keep us in the loop with any decisions with Mum's care. The regular face time calls during covid when visiting has been restricted have been so appreciated to reassure us that our loved ones are being well cared for. We cannot thank you enough for going over and above what has been expected, during such a very difficult time for everyone. All of the staff no matter what their duties have become Mum's family and we take such comfort from that. Anyone with the same decisions to make, please feel reassured that your loved ones will be in very safe and caring hands at Bede Village.
We are so grateful for your kind words. Thank you for sharing your review with us, we really appreciate the positive feedback.
My Nan's health deteriorated, she had spent two periods of respite in Richmond Bede Village and decided to make it her home. The staff were amazing and made her feel so at home and welcome. Care was individual and they always went the extra mile so she was comfortable. As a family, we knew she was well cared for and very happy, communication was really good and they ensured she was pain-free and settled. Can't thank them enough for everything they did.
Although the global pandemic obviously added to the stress felt in our family I cannot speak highly enough of the dedicated staff, nothing was too much trouble. Due to the circumstances, only one person was permitted to visit and I was privileged enough to be with my mother in her room for nearly two days. During that very difficult time, I felt cared for myself and was able to observe the consistently high level of care given to my mother and to other residents; some of whom had quite challenging behaviour.
Thank you for your review, we send our sincere condolences for your recent loss and thank you for taking the time to share your experience of Richmond Bede Village, particularly at such a difficult time. Your feedback is important to us, as is the care and well-being of all of our residents. We...
Very efficient, caring and friendly. All needs, whether medical or otherwise, taken care of.
Very sadly mum passed away in April of this year. Up until April, she had received unbelievable care from every member of the team at Bede Villiage, from the cleaning staff, restaurant and caring staff you could not have wished for better. Since her passing everyone at Bede has been quite wonderfully supportive to me. In trying to sell mums apartment the 2 members involved have been so helpful and caring. All my thanks to everyone who has helped me and of course my lovely mum.
Following an operation and then a fall at home, I decided that I needed some care in order to restore my appetite and strength. I spent 5 weeks at Bede Village and quickly restored my independence.
We visit our friends here and are always impressed by the cleanliness, friendly smiling staff, general atmosphere, care provided, opportunities to participate in stimulating activities for residents. The building a beautifully furnished environment, always attractive, modern, well decorated. It is welcoming and looks efficient and well managed. Only one suggestion/ comment - maybe there could be more time spent chatting/engaging residents in conversation? Then - perfect!
Good nursing practices alongside a caring GP practice has prevented her from frequent hospital admissions.
The Nursing Home has a happy, friendly atmosphere and staff listen to patients acknowledging and providing for their needs.
They also listen to relatives and friends - empathy is part of their care.
My mother has always been happy here.
No complaints at all.
Thank you for taking the time to feedback, your views are very important to us.
The atmosphere is pleasant.
A bit pricey; may be hard to justify. Not enough professional entertainment.
A fantastic team who provide excellent care. The team are like a family who welcomes everyone with a smile. The premises are kept very clean and tidy. The gardens are very nice.
My daughter was looked after whilst on respite and is now a resident.

Meet the Team (5)

Debra is the Village Manager at Richmond Villages Bede and has been part of the team for many years. She started her career at Bede as a Senior Administration Manager and took the position of Village Manager in June 2022.
Before joining Bede, Debra worked as a Finance Manager and Management Accountant, so she has a great understanding of the operational side of businesses. She has a wealth of experience in all aspects of our business and oversees all day-to-day functions to ensure the village runs to the standards expected. Debra is dedicated to her staff, residents and villagers and wants to make sure they have the best experience possible here at Bede.
Outside of work, her passion is her family, and she loves to spend as much time with them as possible.

Tina joined Bede in 2007 as a Registered Nurse, in 2012 she had the fantastic opportunity to take on the role of Care Home Manager. In 2022, Tina was successful in becoming the Deputy Village Manager alongside her current role, and she now supports the Village Manager with the day-to-day running of Richmond Villages Bede.
Tina loves working within the Team at Bede. She is focused on providing compassionate and effective care for the residents and their families. She also thrives on bringing the best out of my staff to ensure that everyone works to the highest standard possible. She strongly believes that everyone deserves access to high-quality, person-centred care and support, and Tina loves that she can be part of this.
Outside of work Tina enjoys Pilates, spending time with family and ticking off her bucket list at any opportunity.

Maggie joined Richmond Villages Bede Village in August 2014 as the Domiciliary Care Manager.
Following university, her working career started with people with learning disabilities for Coventry City Council, as a Day Centre Officer and a Residential Social Worker.
This was preceded by 15 years of working in Children’s Services within the Youth Justice System. As a Head of Care, Maggie became accustomed to working within the constraints of the CQC, Ofsted and other similar regulatory frameworks.
Seeking a new challenge, yet wanting to remain in people services, Maggie has sought a diversified career in working with a more mature population.

Carol has worked at Richmond Village Bede since 2022, but it felt like home after 2 weeks.
Having spent 25 years working in the property sector, combining property with retirement and care seemed like a natural progression.
Working in a village environment gives Carol the opportunity to advise on different types of accommodation to suit different lifestyles and care needs.
It’s a unique place to both work and live.

Louise joined Richmond Villages in 2005 and still loves her job after 20 years! Her goal is to help our customers realise the high-quality lifestyle they deserve by joining our thriving community.
Louise and the team enjoy planning, organising, and facilitating a range of activities designed to promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of elderly or vulnerable individuals receiving care at Richmond Villages Bede.
