Richmond Villages Bede is an award-winning retirement village set in established grounds located on the outskirts of Coventry, a cathedral city in the heart of the West Midlands.

At the heart of the vibrant retirement village is the care home, with 47 en-suite bedrooms (9 of which are newly refurbished residential dementia rooms), providing first-class residential dementia, nursing, respite and convalescent care and care for the young and physically disabled.

The retirement village features excellent on-site facilities that include a restaurant with a terrace, a number of relaxing sitting rooms, hair and nail salon, free Wi-Fi, activities areas, plus landscaped gardens and an orchard.

All rooms are tastefully decorated by a team of specialist interior designers and feature electric profiling beds, a range of furniture, TV, telephone, en-suite shower room and Wi-Fi access.

The village is run by a village manager and a dedicated team of employees who are trained to deliver only the best possible care to the residents.

Unlike traditional care homes, Richmond Villages Bede uses its carers and nurses solely for the purpose of caring and supporting residents, whilst fully trained hospitality and housekeeping staff look after meal preparation and cleaning.

To further enhance the well-being and enjoyment of residents, the village also has a dedicated activities team. The team provides a daily activities programme that includes day trips where transport is provided by Richmond Villages Bede's own vehicles and dedicated drivers.

A wonderful care home offering numerous services. We decided on an apartment with an 'Assisted Living Package'. The apartment was in exceptional order offering a good size lounge, bedroom, walk in shower room and a kitchenette. The services provided were many, a beautiful restaurant, bowling green,
hairdressers to name a few. The staff were very caring. Eventually, we had to make use of the nursing home for a brief time and again the staff were very caring and gave us all the support we needed. I have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

I would like to thank All the staff at every level for the exemplary care given to my mother and father over the past 5 years + in which they resided in Richmond Lodge, Bedworth. My mother recently died having lived there for almost 5 years she was cared for in a professional, caring and kindly manner.
All the staff showed her the greatest respect and in her final days, she was cared for with privacy and dignity. We, her family were also looked after, we only had to ask for some refreshment and it appeared, our comfort and welfare seemed as important as mums. Tina and her nursing team showed professionalism, sensitivity and compassion when caring for mum. We were shown support right up until her funeral. My father who died 4 years ago this week also experienced excellent care, he was truly made to feel special. You have helped us as a family make our parents last years the best it could have been under the circumstances, your care has been second to none and we, her family thank you.

The perfect retirement village, I wish I could move it to Devon. Excellent staff from gardeners, carers, cook, nursing staff and management I would be proud to work with them all.
The care my mother had over the past four years in her own apartment then the nursing home has been superb.

For approximately 3 months, my husband was a resident at Richmond Bede Nursing Home. The care he received was wonderful. All the staff treated him with kindness, compassion and respect. The staff also made sure I was being looked after and became an extended family to me.
The home was spotlessly clean,
bright and a pleasant place to be. Everyone there - the cleaners, kitchen staff, carers and nurses were first class. The managers were always approachable and made time to talk if I needed reassurance. Thank you to one and all.

Excellent facilities, care staff are very motivated and caring, the overall appearance of Bede is clean, tidy and welcoming. The meals provided are of an outstanding quality with a varied menu catering for all individuals. The management is approachable and offers support to all.

My close friend was resident in Richmond Bede Village for the last six months of her life. She went there from hospital having been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. As you can imagine never to go home again was a shock because her illness was totally unexpected. In her first few weeks there she
was not helpful but the staff at Bede were patience itself. They just made her feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. As time progressed she settled in and her every need was catered for even down to her favourite food which was always available. The carers without exception are round pegs in round holes and seem to love what they do. Any dealings that I (as power of attorney) had with the management was on the whole dealt with quickly and efficiently. As my friend's illness progressed and she became less able to communicate the staff took the time to be sure as to what she wanted and that was not easy. In my friend's last few days her care was second to none. A friend who was with her said that she had not seen care like that before. Not only was she cared for but her friend as well. When my friend passed away it was with dignity, love and care. At all times when I was there over those last six months never once did I see her room needing cleaning, her washing not done, or anything that was asked for not given to her. This was also the experience of all of her visitors of whom there were many. The public areas are lovely and the fact that you can get a cup of very good coffee and freshly made cakes from their own kitchen is a bonus. In my view, this is one of the best nursing homes around and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

As an entertainer working for Richmond Bede Village, I not only find it 100% satisfying and welcoming, the hospitality shown to us is second to none. I have been in many five star hotels during my career and there are not many that have the same standard of cleanliness, food hygiene and staff hospitality.
Care
is always paramount to their residents with a smile on their faces, staff clearly dedicated to their individual roles but working closely as a team to ensure the clockwork running of this establishment 24 hours a day. We will continue to return to entertain the residents and staff as required and recommend it highly to other entertainers in the industry.

My friends uncle was residing at Bede Village. He had an excellent experience and when he passed away, his wishes were to hold his wake at the village. He also requested for any donations to go to Bede.

I joined Bede in 2007 as a Registered Nurse, in 2012 I had the fantastic opportunity to take on the role of Care Home Manager. In 2022, I was successful in becoming the Deputy Village Manager alongside my current role and I now support the Village Manager with the day to day running of Bede.


I love working within the Team at Bede, I am focused on providing compassionate and effective care for our residents and their families. I also thrive to bring the best out of my staff to ensure that we all work to the highest standard possible. I strongly believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality, person-centred care and support and love that I can be part of this.


Outside of work I enjoy Pilates, spending time with my family and ticking off my bucket list at any opportunity I get.

Following university, my working career started with people with learning disabilities for Coventry City Council, as a Day Centre Officer and a Residential Social Worker.


This was proceeded by 15 years of working in Children’s Services within the Youth Justice System. As a Head of Care, I became accustomed to working within the constraints of the CQC, Ofsted and other similar regulatory frameworks.


Seeking a new challenge, yet wanting to remain in people services I have sought a diversified career in working with a more mature population – hence my application to Richmond Bede Village.

Before joining Bede, I worked as a Finance Manager and Management Accountant so, I have a great understanding of the operational side of businesses. I have a wealth of experience in all aspects of our business and oversee all day-to-day functions to ensure the village runs to the standards expected. I am dedicated to my staff, residents and villagers and want to make sure they have the best experience possible here at Bede.
