Burton Closes Hall Nursing Home is a converted Grade II building, offering grandeur, beauty and style from the moment you set eyes on it. This decadent home consists of sixty-five en-suite bedrooms and is the home of choice for those wanting that extra special place for their loved one.

Of course the beauty of the home and gardens are just the beginning and are excellently complimented by the care offered to each and every resident in the home. The service is focussed on specialist care delivery, with its own residential dementia unit, an Elizabethan style nursing unit and a young physical disabled unit.

Carers offer residents and their families the support they need during what many find some of the most trying times of their lives. Families are truly grateful for the personal support they receive, when faced with one of life's very difficult decisions and the team pride themselves on continuing that support to residents and their families from the moment they contact the home throughout the whole of their stay and beyond.

The approach to care is simple - look after the person and not the ailment/condition alone - Carers want to get to know their residents and their families, thus enabling them to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand. Staff get to know their clients, who they are, who they were and how they have come to be at the home. Carers get to know their families too and like to understand the dynamics within the family setting and how best they can support these as they build a relationship of trust. I cannot thank Burton Closes Hall enough. My father was admitted for end of life care and after viewing the homes Chesterfield Hospital sent me to I was beginning to think he would have to live out his brain tumour in a hospital ward. Luckily I came across this fabulous place and I owe the manager and
her amazing team a precious few months with my dad. We felt at home there, like family and I just can't express how much easier they made such a distressing time for us all. A home isn't really about how shiny and modern it is, it is about the staff and the people in it. I will be forever grateful to them and cannot recommend them enough! I would go and visit but it's too soon for me, one day I will!

Don't be put off by first impressions of this building. The manager kept us informed regularly regarding Dad and his treatment; she has made some great changes over the months we have been visiting here. Dad was on end-of-life care here for five months. The carers went above and beyond, and you could
tell they all loved their work; they were so very kind to our dear old dad, and he didn't have a bad word to say about any of them. Dad was very happy in his last few months and loved that he could tell all of his stories to everyone there, even the made-up ones. (I'm framing his medals, if you know you know).
Highly recommend this wonderful care home to everyone.

Mum has been at Burton Closes Hall for nearly a year. It was not an easy start as some covid restrictions were still in place and they had just had a new manager. It did take quite a while for Mum to settle and get to know the staff there and for them to get to know Mum but now when we visit they are
all like family. Everybody is very friendly and welcoming whatever time you visit. The manager is very approachable and supportive. There has recently been a meeting for families of residents to get together which was great for support and to share experiences.
Mum is well cared for and she feels safe.

My father was admitted for end of life care. His admission was an emergency but handled very well by the manager and her team. He was shown respect and dignity to the end. We were treated very well, despite the necessary Covid regulations.

My father has recently been staying at Burton Closes Hall for a respite period. The home is set in beautiful grounds and looks very welcoming. The staff that I have spoken to have been lovely and my father is over the moon with staying there. He was a bit worried about going into a care setting but
he expresses it’s more like a hotel to my delight, this has put my mind at ease. The manager has been marvellous to deal with, she’s so pro active and positive, she is a real credit to the home, as are all the staff. My father has told me that he wouldn’t stay anywhere else apart from Burton Closes Hall. I can’t thank the staff enough for all they have done. They should all be proud of themselves.

My mum was admitted to this beautiful care home after a bad experience in her previous residence. From the moment Mum moved into Burton Closes Hall, she lit up from within in total happiness and contentment. This is a testament to all that work at Burton Closes Hall to their hard-working and caring

My niece is living at Burton Closes Hall, although I have not been able to visit due to the virus, I do know how she feels about Burton Closes. She is very happy here and all the staff are very caring and she is treated with dignity at all times especially in these difficult times. We would like to

Due to the situation with COVID-19, I have not been able to see inside the care home, but according to friends who have, conditions are very good, as are the meals and staff. From my very first contact with the management and staff, I have had a good feeling that I am dealing with people who care and
have time for both the residents and relatives. When I phone for information, I am greeted with a confident, yet friendly and happy voice. Thank you.

My brother has been resident for 18 months at Burton Closes Hall - he is not an easy individual and sadly now has terminal cancer. The home has been exemplary in his care and of me. Can't fault them. So relieved he is there.

The care and treatment of my mother is of an extremely high standard. The staff are friendly, attentive and professional. The support and administration has improved remarkably in the last year. Cleanliness is generally very good but I do wonder whether occasionally the residents' toilet needs attending
to more frequently. Too smelly sometimes.
