Thank you for your comments you have expressed in the care and support that your father felt whilst living at Moorland House. Your father was a very special person and staff ensured that he was looked after and cared for in the best possible way. It was a pleasure to have known him and know that we made him feel safe and secure. He will be sorely missed and our thoughts and best wishes are with you and your family. Take Care and Keep Safe.
Thank you for your review. We are very pleased that you returned to us for respite after staying with us during November and over Christmas. I’d like to reassure you that the staffing levels are appropriate for the amount of residents in the home. However, due to adverse weather conditions and some sickness we did utilise our resources by using all three managers at the home to work on the floor to assist with the mealtime experiences and activities. I am sorry that you did not have sight of me but I do try to make myself visible to residents and relatives and operate an open door policy should you ever need to visit me. We are pleased that you are still joining us for daycare and look forward to seeing you in the future.
Although my aunt did not have a great appetite, meals always looked and smelt delicious, there was always fresh fruit, biscuits and snacks freely available and residents were offered cold and hot drinks throughout the day.
When visiting the home we always found it to be clean, tidy, free from offensive odours and we were always made to feel welcome.
Thank you for your compliments of the facilities of the home and moreover the quality of care that your aunt received from our very dedicated team. As a new manager at the home it is always good to hear when we have made a difference and allayed any concerns when moving to a new environment like your aunt did and that we made her transition a smooth one, gaining the trust from the staff. I am pleased that we were able to support your aunt's needs without her losing her independence. She was (as all our residents are) a special person in every respect.
Thank you so much for your review. Your Mother in Law was a wonderful person and everyone loved her. We all loved to listen to her stories from her younger days and that she had always been an inspiration to people throughout her life. She will be sadly missed.
My 20 year old son commented on how all the staff he saw and spoke to, were always smiling and great with his grandad.
Everywhere was clean and spotless.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Moorland House to anyone.

The staff are caring and welcoming and after over a year we're all on Christian name terms and I'm told I'm one of the family (the home team) which is quite

My family are so grateful to the all the staff at Moorland House for looking after my dad and all of us so well. All the staff – care staff, kitchen, cleaning, laundry and maintenance, admin staff – are kind, welcoming
We all felt ‘at home’ coming to Moorland House. It is easy just to pop in at any time of day and share a meal, activity or simply spend quiet time together. The staff will always change their schedule to suit visitors and you always get offered a cup of tea or coffee.
During Dad’s last hours and following his death everyone has been so helpful and considerate – I still pop in to have a chat.
Thank you for your kind words. It has been a pleasure to care for your dad. As a team, we aim to deliver a first class service and everyone is welcome at Moorland House. Your father was a true gentleman.

I have worked in the care sector since 1998 after completing my university studies. Initially working with Children in Care then I moved to working with older people and this is where my passion is. I have been part of the MHA team since February 2017 and worked at Queenswood in Nottingham first then moved to Moorland house 2018 and I love the home, residents and we are blessed to have a wonderful staff team. I am married to Bri and I have 2 sons Adam, Tim and 2 grandchildren Ophelia and Cosette and daughter in law Sophie. I live in Chesterfield and my interests are reading and watching dramas and movies this helps me to unwind. We recently adopted a dog (pug) called Alfie that we are trying unsuccessfully to train. I enjoy going on all types of holidays and spending time with my family and extended family.
I have been in the care industry for over 10 years now and worked in numerous care environments such as Residential, Assisted Living, Domiciliary and also training. Since the age of 21 I have always had a job role in a senior position. I have learnt a wide range of skills and knowledge in the care sector throughout the years, and I have always been passionate in providing the highest standards of person-centred care. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming which to me, is what makes Moorland House so different to previous homes I have worked in. The staff team who I work alongside with are an absolute credit to the home and MHA as a whole. My favourite part of the job has always been interacting with the residents, hearing their individual stories or just simply seeing them smile. I have worked at Moorland House for over 2 years now and I’ve never been happier! Outside of work, I’m usually spending time with my 7 year old daughter and going on adventures together with our Labrador puppy, Harley.
I have worked at Moorland House in an administrative role for 17 years, being promoted to Administration Manager around 4 years ago. I am passionate about ensuring that residents and staff have the best possible experience of living and working at Moorland House. I think Moorland House is special, because we provide our residents with a ‘home’, not a Home. Our friendly family atmosphere is one of the first things that visitors to the home notice, and I am incredibly proud of that. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and walking in the beautiful local countryside with my two dogs, Nev and Aggie.
I started working here as a Chaplain in August 2020 and I had such a warm welcome from staff and residents. As part of my job role, I work alongside our amazingly talented Activity Coordinator getting involved in activities participating with residents and spending quality time with them all such as playing scrabble every Tuesday and also arts and crafts. I carry out a midweek service every Wednesday morning and also hold a prayer group every Friday morning. I am always available to talk to anyone, staff, residents, relatives as a listening ear. I spent over 20 years working for the NHS as a Pharmacy Technician in hospitals in London and Essex and more latterly at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. I am very involved at St. Thomas’ the local Anglican church where amongst other things I help lead the Home Bible Group for the older folk and help run ‘Young at Heart’ once a month where we get together for a cup of tea, a piece of cake and plenty of chat.
