Morton Grange is a Local Authority quality premium provider and AQP provider for Continuing Healthcare funded by the Integrated Care Board (NHS)


Self-Funded nursing clients will qualify for Funded Nursing Care from the NHS (currently £254.06 per week from 1.4.25) which is NOT included in the above nursing rate.


Local authority funded clients with Dementia attract a Dementia premium which, like FNC, would be factored in to the above fee rates.


Cost of hairdressing (available weekly), chiropody (as required), newspapers (delivered daily as requested) and spending money for trips and toiletries we provide are not included. You are welcome to arrange any of these things your self if required.

Friendly staff, cannot do enough for you. Varied meals showing photographs of meals so the resident can see meals if unable to view the daily menus. Resident dressed cleanly/smartly. Nursing staff all hands on. Day trips to take residents to places of interest so more interaction. Rooms kept tidy so
no falling hazards. Would recommend the Grange for their level of care and cleanliness and friendliness towards residents.

Very pleased with the level of care my Mum receives. She is well fed, well cared for, has a pleasant room and there are activities on a daily basis. The staff are friendly and approachable.

My father was nursed at Morton Grange from hospital discharge on end of life care. He was treated with the utmost dignity and respect during his three-week stay. Our family visited daily, finding Dad always clean and comfortable.
The staff got to know him well, therefore, always respecting his wishes.
There is a clear, care pathway for end of life care, which is well-documented. We were always consulted with aspects of his care and updated regularly.
Dad passed in peace, knowing he was loved by all involved with his care. Thank you.

My husband was a resident for over 4 years. He suffered from Alzheimer's disease and oral cancer. He was well loved, cared for and looked after. He was part of an extended family. I always felt assured that he was safe. The care, end of life, was as expected. Caring, loving and tender. The whole staff
always went the extra mile. I cannot praise them enough.

My mother has been a permanent resident at Morton Grange since May, previously she visited for respite. I visit daily and assist with eating and bedtimes. She is content but has bouts of challenging behaviour, which the staff deal with stoically, they treat her with care. consideration and gentle
persuasion. The Home is spotlessly clean. Her clothes are changed when necessary/laundered daily (she spills - because of a tremor, and throws - because of temper). The quality, selection and variety of the food are very high and her eating issues (dementia-related swallowing issues) have been resolved in that her food is blended to the extent that it can be liquidised to a soup so she can drink it. The nursing staff are informative. supportive and willing to discuss issues and solutions. Care staff are friendly, attentive and address needs regularly and efficiently. Activities are varied, entertaining and frequent. The whole team work together and supply quality of care that is second to none.

I have only been visiting Morton Grange since June 2018 but not only are residents looked after very well but so are family and friends.
I visit five times a week at different times and everyone is always looked after.

My Mum spent the last 7 ½ years of her life living at Morton Grange, where we regarded as her home.
Throughout this time, Mum had always been cared for with love, kindness, dignity and respect by all members of staff, this enabled her to feel safe and relaxed.

Everyone gets involved, including owner at Morton Grange, we cannot praise them enough, for just under the 4 years dad was resident.
After the normal teething adjustment when he first lived there, since then they made it his home and treated him as part of one big family.
Only when looking back
through newsletters do you appreciate how much activities and entertainment, as well as day trips out, meals out, just a ride round in minibus to see the seasons, they do with residents.


Towards the end of his life, from the owners, the matron, numerous carers, down to laundry and kitchen staff were second to none, so supportive, caring and understanding.
Not only there for dad, but for mum and myself. They made his last years enjoyable, cared for and loved.
For that, we thank them and give praise where praise is most definitely due.

My mum was in Morton Grange for 2 weeks at Xmas. My family and I were highly delighted with the care she received, the interaction with staff and the residents was excellent nothing too much trouble for them.
The meals were very good with varied choices each day.
I was able to relax at home and know
my mum was safe and being properly looked after
Mum will definitely be going back there next time she has respite.

He has been treated very well and with respect. He has only been here for 2/3 weeks but we feel he is being looked after really well. All the staff are marvellous and cannot do enough for he or my husband. He is kept clean and tidy, having a shave every day. We feel he is in good hands.

I have had many conversations with management and various staff and found them all to be very warm and welcoming to my husband and myself. I was very impressed by the family feel of the wards/rooms and the atmosphere of a real home. Nothing seems to be too much trouble with all the resident's needs
being met with all medical needs put in place for any emergency. In all, I feel so relieved that I can leave my husband in such caring and comfortable hands and I too feel part of a big and happy family.

My wife has been in Morton Grange for three and a half years. Although there have been changes in staff over that period, I cannot say I have disliked any member of staff.


I visit on average twelve times per week and I have never seen anything that disturbs me. Patients are taken at frequent times

to the toilet. If my wife wants changing at any time, her needs are promptly dealt with. (I have no complaints).

The care afforded to my dear elderly friend was exemplary. Sadly she only spent a relatively short time at Morton Grange but settled in very well and happily. The personalised care offered to all residents was so good to see and the care and attention and the interest the staff took in those in their
care was wonderful.
Staff took a great deal of time to find out as much as possible about my friend, her family, interests, hobbies etc and then most importantly did their best to follow up on those interests through their daily activities whether it was joining in the in-house activities or going to a garden centre, shopping or just being in the gardens enjoying the fresh air.
The nursing and personal care were professionally and kindly administered - so refreshing to see staff who really cared about the residents.
I was always welcomed as a visitor whatever time I visited - thank you.

I looked all around Matlock and Chesterfield for a suitable home for my very active aunt aged 96. When I went into Morton Grange and spoke to the owner, manageress and staff I knew it was ideal. They were dedicated, caring and enjoyed there work. The owner advised I also look at other homes but none
matched Morton Grange.


Sadly my aunt was not there very long but throughout her stay, the staff, service and care exceeded my initial impressions. I could not fault anything. I know that because this is an owner run home there is a dedication to care and services. I am still in contact with the home and would recommend it for all the care they offer.

Not only were the nursing staff very good but everyone from administration to management were attentive and welcoming to the family.

I have worked at Morton Grange since 2002 and this is like my second home. I am a nurse by profession and have completed a Masters Degree in Dementia. I am a member of the Social Care Nursing Advisory Council and also the Chair of the Registered Managers Network for Derby and Derbyshire. I have won awards in Dementia care, Dignity in care, the Chief nursing officer award as well as a National Award for Registered Managers. I was also honoured with an invite to Buckingham Palace recently for my contribution to Social Care.


My door is always open and I work late into the evening meaning you can always come in for a chat with any questions you might have. I love my job as it feels like being surrounded by your family. My residents and staff are part of my family and together we are making lots of happy memories here.
