I was very hesitant about my husband coming to the home, but I've been pleasantly surprised. From the moment I visited you could feel the calm, friendly atmosphere. He is being really well cared for, all the staff have been welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. He is especially fond of the food which is lovely.

Whilst I was in the care of Aspen Court I was treated amazingly. The staff got me from being bedbound to walking on my own again. The staff were very helpful, anything I asked them to do was no trouble at all. Also, the food was extremely good throughout.

My Mum always swore that she would never go into a care home. She came here for recuperation after breaking both her legs - she now doesn't want to leave.
She's very happy here and says that the staff are like family. She is very well looked after by all the marvellous staff.

It is a very big relief to my sister and I that she is happy and very well looked after. Thank you.

The transition from home was very good. Very good room, personal belongings in the room before arrival, so more like home.

Very caring staff who always have time to talk/answering questions. Patient well looked after, clean and comfortable. As the patient has only been here for a short time, he is happy as one can be when away from home.

We visited Aspen Court whilst looking for a nursing home for our elderly mother. We felt Aspen had a nice feeling, we liked the bedroom and wide variety of activities and location was ideal for visiting on the East side of Derby.
Mum was admitted on 11th Nov and very poorly but all the staff went out of their way to make Mum and the family welcome.
For Mum's 93rd birthday the staff made a lovely birthday cake and helped us celebrate that wonderful achievement.
My sister and I found the nursing staff and entire team to be friendly, caring and considerate and helped make our lovely mum's stay to be as comfortable as possible in her final days. Sadly our beloved mum passed away on 23rd.

The staff showed enormous compassion and support for which we are most grateful.

I found this establishment to be seriously lacking in 'Customer Care'.

I completely understand that my Father was admitted as part of his end of life plan and that my Mother seriously needed some respite from the Care she was providing for him, but his last few days of life were 'tainted' by the extremely unprofessional way in how his death was dealt with.

I believe that some of his belongings are still at Aspen Court even though we requested that they were left for collection.

There is still a sense of 'non-closure' with respect to my Father's last hours as we have received no feedback/communication whatsoever.

Dad now requires palliative care so it has been a stressful situation for both him and us. Aspen Court Care Home have been excellent both at putting dad and I at ease and making dad feel settled. There are always nurses on hand and doctors visit regularly. The staff have done everything possible for dad's comfort and have treated him with dignity at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Although the actual home looks a little tired the ambience and friendly staff make up for it. The home ensures that residents are stimulated on a daily basis by providing an entertainments member of staff who rotates a good selection of activities. The food always looks very appetizing and plentiful. Although I have not witnessed the level of care, I feel it is satisfactory but not excellent.

Mum appears to be generally well looked after and most of the staff know her needs and treat her well. The majority of staff are very pleasant and listen to what the family what for Mum. The facilities are good and the cleanliness is excellent. The activities and entertainment are excellent with a lot of time and effort put into these, which keeps the resident occupied and able to interact with each other. During the day there is a lack of staff or they are too busy to take Mum to the toilet. This happens regularly and she can wait up to 30 minutes before they come which results in her sitting in wet clothes.

My auntie has been to Aspen Court a few times for respite. When visiting, I get a lovely vibe from Aspen Court and everyone (residents and staff) always seem happy. I really like the lady who comes every day and does activities and games with the residents. On a negative note, my auntie always seems to wait a long while to be showered. She's also had items going missing and has, in the past, come home with thrush.

I visited Aspen Court prior to my mother becoming a resident there at the beginning of March 2018. My immediate impressions were how pleasant an environment it was. Corridors and rooms are very clean, spacious, light, airy and well-decorated. Toilets and bathrooms spotless. Well set out communal areas with quiet room, TV viewing room, conservatory looking onto garden and dining room. Plenty of chairs available for visitors. Daily menu providing tasty nutritional food. The staff are very helpful, friendly and respectful towards residents. Calm atmosphere.

Since losing my Father just over a year ago, after 64 years together, my Mum was very lonely and isolated. Although she was receiving home care visits 4 times per day she continued on a downward spiral, she was depressed and often refused to get out of bed, wash or eat and drink. My Mum likes to be surrounded by people and the people as Aspen Court are wonderful with her. She has lots of friends and likes to join in all the activities. She is happy and so am I as I don't have to worry if she's safe. I know she's well looked after.

I feel happy and content knowing my Mum is being looked after by such friendly and caring staff. I know that her medicines are not forgotten like she used to and that there are three, nutritional, meals each day plus snacks and drinks, she only wanted packet meals at home.
