Our family are very happy with the care my aunt is currently receiving at Sherwood (since Feb 2026). Health issues are dealt with very promptly, along with any concerns we or my aunt might have (staff happy to take calls at any time to discuss). The staff at Sherwood try and create an upbeat atmosphere in the Home and go out of their way to engage the residents who want to get involved. Standard of cleanliness is excellent, the food is wonderful (which my aunt looks forward to and tells me about what was on the menu). Visitors are welcome at any time.

The staff are a lovely, dedicated team who have clearly been carefully selected to reflect the home's exceptionally high standards of care. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sherwood to anyone who has the difficult task of finding a home for their relative.

3 years ago I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put both my mum and dad into care, both having dementia. I truly made the best decision putting them in Sherwood Forest. Everyone in there goes above and beyond and love my parents like I do.Unfortunately my dad passed away on the 6th January but the care and love they showed me during this time has been amazing. I cry with them and laugh with them. The activities are amazing and there is always something happening to keep them occupied. If I had to do it all again Sherwood would be the one I would choose. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything I love you all.

We're truly touched that you felt supported during such a difficult time, and grateful that the home brought comfort, laughter and connection when it was needed most. Your words mean the world to the whole team.

My experience of Sherwood Forest is first class all staff are brilliant. They all take care of my wife superbly. When I am not present I know she is looked after and cared for and kept clean. I've not come across one member staff that would not go the extra mile. I would like to thank all staff and management for doing a great job. Thank you again from a very grateful and very satisfied husband and family.

Have always found the staff very professional. Whenever I ask for help on anything I am promptly seen to and any problem is sorted out. Unlike the 2 care homes my wife has been in prior to this the Management actually listen and talk to you instead of down to you. The whole atmosphere is one of caring.

I spent 6 days with my brother at Sherwood .. first of all the cleanliness of the home is to be commended .. the staff are truly amazing, so caring, for these patients.. their needs .. their feelings.. the activities that they do with the residents.. crafts, singing and dancing .. then the outings.. it was so fun to hang out there!!! I wanted to check out of my hotel and move in lol !!!! The ratio of staff to clients seems above average (compared to nursing homes I've been in when visiting clients ) .. the food too.. well prepared and tasty!!! Of course lots of tea..

Highly recommend this facility for your loved one

Cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention that my mum received at the carehome. From the assessment she received to determine if they could meet her needs, her moving in, getting her settled, and ongoing care, every step was handled immaculately. As her condition deteriorated, the support mum (and us as a family) received from the nursing staff and activities team was unbelievable. Nothing was ever too much trouble, we were always made welcome and a part of the "team". Sadly mum passed away recently and we received great support through that process... and 2 staff members joined us at mum's funeral.

Overall a very well run and caring nursing home ....all staff should be extremely proud of themselves.

My husband's stay in Sherwood was a very good experience for him. The carers were absolutely kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good and plenty of it. He passed in December and the staff were so kind. Would recommend it to anybody wanting to place their relative here.

Mum seems happy most of the time although she does have her favourite carers 95% of the carers are amazing with all residents. We have had a few issues regarding laundry and personal care. The manager is very good and approachable and is always happy to help with any problems. Overall Sherwood is a lovely home and well-run. While Mum's happy I'm happy.
