Hinckley Park Care Home, overlooking Queen’s Park in Hinckley, Leicestershire, provides personalised residential and nursing care to older people.

The carefully designed and purpose-built care home offers residents a calm yet engaging living space, complete with two sitting rooms, a hairdressing salon and a sunny conservatory. The enclosed garden, which is cared for by residents, is a great spot for catching up with friends and family.

It is always a great worry for a family when a loved one needs to be looked after in a nursing home. I am so grateful to all staff at Hinckley Park for all they do for my husband and also for our family. We are reassured that the care is exceptionally good. The home is very well managed, staff are kind,
considerate, caring and respectful. There is a happy friendly atmosphere at Hinckley Park. My husband is content and safe. Thank you all so very much for everything you do to make our situation as good as it could be.

We as a family wish to thank all the staff for their devotion and care for the 2 weeks mum was with you, before passing away. Words will never be enough. She loved it here and we will cherish the happy memories of such a beautiful caring home.

Although my father was only in the care home for a very short period we felt that his care was extremely good and the staff very helpful and caring from the first contact with the care home and their staff to the last. We found everyone we came across both professional and supportive.

Mum came into this care home from hospital on December 19th 2019. She will be 100-years-old on June 3rd 2021. Physically she is fragile but mentally she is fine. We visited her every day until the lockdown. In those three months, we had no complaints, in fact, we were all impressed by the dedication
of the nurses, carers and other staff. Since that time, it is impossible to make a full assessment. We have a window visit once a week and a video link three times a week. (The person who deals with this seems to be very caring). When we contact the home, they are always very helpful.

Mum was sent to Hinckley Park care home in December 2019 for end of life care. My experience of the carers and nurses was how professional they all were, both caring and considerate.
After lockdown making contact with her has been difficult, owing to her deafness and being partially sighted. It has
been upsetting knowing her final years have been with little contact with family. Attempts through Skype have been difficult. We feel in her 100th year she is being let down. Whether anything could have been done better, we are not sure.

When our mum had to leave her home following numerous falls and stays in hospital, we didn’t dream that she would move into a care home. But when my sister and I visited Hinckley Park, we couldn’t believe how welcoming all the staff were, even asking us to put a memory book together so they could talk
to mum about her family. Now almost 5 months later, mum is settled, she is eating and drinking again. She even has her sense of humour back!
It’s been tough for everyone during lockdown but we have weekly FaceTime chats with mum which really helps her.
Couldn't ask for more.

All the staff are very compassionate, friendly and understanding. Although my mum was a resident for a short time, she was treated with dignity and kindness. From the first enquiry with one particular lady to the care and nursing staff at the end, you all are a credit to your profession. To the manager,

The management here has been challenged, there have been issues some of which have to been resolved; a simple picture of staff at the entrance with their names so that relatives know who ss agency or not; should have been done - this is still not in place. Access to the building can be difficult, I
have resorted to telephoning whilst the buzzer has not been answered and been left to wait. These are small things and fixable with the right management attitude.
Hickley Park has some brilliant staff who are the backbone of the establishment, and it is the care that they offer that gives the group the edge. Two carers, in particular, go above and beyond every day. They are worth their weight in gold and are real assets. They have been brilliant and extremely helpful, spending those extra few minutes explaining, and towards the end, sitting for hours so that Mum was not alone. Two nurses have been kind, compassionate and have kept us informed every step of the way. This has meant my dad could relax during this Covid period, knowing that although he could not visit, that my mum was getting the right standard of care.
