Overall Experience

We cannot thank all for the care and dignity given to my father. We are eternally grateful. The level of security is fantastic all be on one level. The food was always served on time and always looked delicious and there was always a choice of menu which catered for all people. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing was too much to ask for. I was always kept up to speed on my father especially as l was 36 miles always. Thank you all lovely people.

Review from John M (Son of Resident) published on 7 August 2015 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother was a resident at Bunkers Hill for 8 years from June 2007 until she passed away aged 94, in June 2015.
She had dementia, which for the last 5 years was advanced. She moved from Residential (mobile persons) in 2010 into Nursing, but for the last 5 years was confined to bed, unable latterly to even lift her own head off the pillow. By this stage she had advanced dementia not recognising anyone, including her own sons.
When she passed away, she had had no need for a doctor to see her for over 15 months, and during the whole of her time at Bunkers Hill Care Home, never had any health issues relating to her care there.
In spite of her mental condition, she has always been treated with dignity.
I feel it is a testimony of her care, that she lived so long bearing in mind her mental condition and lack of mobility.

I would like to place on record my thanks to the nursing and care staff for looking after my mother so well.
