How lovely are the staff at Doulton Court? Mum sadly passed away on 30th April 2022 and all the staff were so caring, not just to mother but to all of the family. We were kept well informed of Mother's condition and she was well cared for and kept comfortable right up until the end. We would like to
say a special thank you to one member of staff who truly has a special gift in her vocation. We could not have found a better place for Mother to spend her final days. The passion, motivation and empathy shown to every person by all of the staff were truly touching to see right from the cleaning and kitchen staff up to the management. Thank you all.

My dad was admitted to Doulton Court Care Home after a hospital stay. On arrival at Doulton Court, he was made very welcome. From day one, the carers and all staff treated Dad with genuine care, dignity and respect. We noticed how well Dad looked and how happy he was. Unfortunately, Dad was re-hospitalised
for a short period but was eager to return home, which he meant Doulton Court. Dad is offered a choice at all times and enjoys the variety in his meals.

I visit Mum most days. Whatever time I go, she is always clean and tidy, clothed, hair etc. All of the staff are lovely and really care about their residents. Mum is quite poorly but has said she likes it here and doesn't want to move. I'd like to thank all of the staff for all their care, especially
last year during extremely difficult Covdi circumstances. Thank you.

Well-run care home with good staff and support. Good food was given and any problems were answered quickly. Good activities for the residents. Security could be better as some residents go into other residents' rooms and borrow things, the only problem we have had as wrong clothes have been returned
after washing. Other than that, a good care home which is well-run.

Since the new manager started (12/18 months ago), the running of the care home and the overall performance nursing, caring, administration and team coordination have been very good. When 'corona' struck and visiting has curtailed, hairdressing (previously done by outsiders) was then undertaken by the
staff (including admin), plus many other tasks, which were outside their normal responsibilities. Good teamwork prevails under testing circumstances. Very satisfied.

The nursing home have gone all out in 2020 to look after my mum and try to keep all safe. Only been able to see Mum twice in nine months. Hopefully, she will still remember me, her daughter. Been caring a lot for my dad and he has been not able to see his wife as well.

Mum arrived at Doulton Court over a year ago from the hospital, and end of life was inevitable. I had talks with her doctor about it, but after three to four months of care given to her by the excellent team at Doulton Court, Mum perked up and settled in great. Having Vascular Dementia, she gets very
scared and confused, but the care staff are fantastic and go out of their way to make the rest of her day's happy ones.

Review from Tina (Daughter of Resident) published on 22 May 2020 Submitted via Website • Report

Since the home has been shut down to the coronavirus, the staff at Doulton Court have excelled themselves. They have set up a social media page so we can see our loved ones electronically. The videos they put on for the party for VE DAY were wonderful. The residents really looked as they were enjoying
themselves. I need to take some things round to my mum, so I rang the home and asked if I could drop them outside. The lady who answered the call was lovely and said I could drop anything off for mum when I wanted. Just ring the bell outside and they would take it straight up to mum. In these extremely hard and unusual times it is nice to know that you have people to rely on. Like so many people, I am finding it hard not to see my mum, but at least I know she is in excellent hands and is being very well cared for. I have 100% faith in the staff and I wish to thank them all for everything that they are doing.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.530)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.530) out of 10 for Doulton Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.914 for Doulton Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 4.914
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.616 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Doulton Court Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.2 = 0.366
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
