Mum moved in two months ago and quite frankly this has been life-changing. She has gained weight, is socialising, entertaining and well cared for. This has exceeded anything I could have hoped for. The whole staff team are exceptional, it is like walking into a family home every day. Simply amazing.
Reply from Lauren Green, Office Adminstrator at Grosvenor House Care HomeThis is such a lovely review, thank you it means so much. My wife arrived at Grosvenor House six weeks ago needing nursing care. She has received excellent medical care and is much improved both physically and mentally. We have found all of the staff, without expectation to be caring, helpful and sensitive to our needs. Nothing seems to be too much trouble
and we are very grateful.

My mother has been here 3 years and I think the home has just got better. The staff are friendly, attentive and caring. The home is well-led and deals with anything that needs improving straight away. It appears improvement to the home is constant. My mother is well looked after and carers and staff
go above and beyond. The entertainment is so good and always fun. Manager is very approachable and takes onboard anything raised and seems to be looking to improve all the time. Very proactive.

We arrived to visit Mum and were told that there was a lady going to be singing to entertain the residents.
It was a fantastic morning watching the residents and staff having a good sing-along and seeing the great relationship between both groups of people. As always there were drinks available to
all, ourselves included and we are always made so welcome, my mum has always looked so happy at Grosvenor House and we really do enjoy our visits, it is so professionally operated but with a friendly, welcoming feel.

Having visited quite a few other care home in this locality for family and other friends requiring such services, I can honestly say Grosvenor House is by far the best to date.
In such times of need, it's a great comfort to know your family and friends are receiving the best care possible and the dedication
of staff make it more of a vocation than just a form of employment. Keep up the good work.

My wife went in to Grosvenor House for a week's respite care. From the moment I wheeled her us through the door we were taken over by the welcome, friendliness and care of the manager and her colleagues. Nothing was too much trouble. I was extremely grateful for the care and support shown to my wife.
I was also grateful for the friendliness and hospitality extended both to me and members of my family during our visits. If I myself ever need to go into care, this is where I would want to be. That is my greatest accolade!

Always a very warm, welcoming and friendly home. My dad's bedroom is lovely and we all enjoy our visits here. My dad enjoys the bingo and social aspect of being here and is fond of all of the staff, speaking very highly of them. The family fun days are very good, we have enjoyed attending many of them.
We love seeing all the animals here too. The food is good and we really like the coffee hub.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (10.000)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (10.000) out of 10 for Grosvenor House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Grosvenor House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (382 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 382 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grosvenor House Care Home is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Care Assistant Joined: 2021

Hi, I’m Megan. I’ve been working at Grosvenor House since 2021, when I first joined the team supporting people with video calling during the Covid pandemic. It was such a rewarding experience helping residents stay connected with their loved ones during a difficult time, and it inspired me to progress further in care.

Since then, I’ve become a Care Assistant and achieved my Level 3 in Health and Social Care. I’m really keen to keep learning, developing my skills, and expanding my knowledge so I can provide the best possible support to the people we care for.

I absolutely love my role and take pride in making a difference every day. Making people smile is the best part of my job — whether that’s through a chat, a laugh, or singing and dancing along to some country music together!

Hi, I’m Joyce. I’ve been part of the Grosvenor House family for 25 years, working as a Senior Carer, where I help make sure everything runs smoothly within the home. A big part of my role is getting to know everyone, their routines, preferences, and life stories, so we can deliver person-centred care that is tailored just right for each individual.

Over the years, I’ve really enjoyed building relationships with so many wonderful residents, families, and colleagues, which is what makes Grosvenor House feel like one big family to me. I love being part of a dedicated team and take pride in supporting both staff and residents to ensure the best possible care and environment for everyone.

Outside of work, I love travelling and exploring new places whenever I can, as well as spending quality time with my family.

Hi, I’m Chris. I’m a Registered Nurse and have been part of the Grosvenor House team for 25 years. I’m proud to be part of such a caring and dedicated team, and I love supporting our residents to ensure they receive the highest standard of care every day.

Being in this role has allowed me to build strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues over the years, which makes my job incredibly rewarding. My favourite part of our home is the garden, especially in the summer when we have a BBQ, and everyone can enjoy the sunshine together.

Outside of work, I have a real love for the 1940s era, especially the music and dancing, and I’m also a big animal lover.

Hello, I’m Mel. I joined Grosvenor House 25 years ago at just 17 years old as a Care Assistant, and over the years, I’ve progressed into my role as an Enhanced Night Care Assistant. It’s been such a rewarding journey, and I’m proud to have spent so many years growing with the team.

For me, Grosvenor House is more than just a workplace; it’s part of a wider family, and I genuinely love what I do and the people I work with. Being able to support residents through the night and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for means a lot to me.

When I’m not at work, I love spending quality time with my family and enjoy flower arranging, which I find really relaxing and creative.
