The care given at the home is excellent. The staff are all very kind and considerate. They do their best to meet each individual's needs. Sometimes messages do not always get passed on, especially when they are busy, but that is my only criticism. The care overall is very good.

Reply from Lauren Green, Wellbeing, Communication & Engagement at Grosvenor House Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. One of our core values is the delivery of person centred care, and we are so happy that you have found the care excellent. We are very sorry that you have found that messages have not been passed on in the past. We hope that this has now been resolved, as we have introduced a day and night communication book to ensure that messages reach the relevant people.

Review from P B (Brother of Resident) published on 4 January 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My youngest brother is a resident at Grosvenor House Care Home. He needs a considerable amount of care due to liver disease. Unfortunately, his condition is not curable. He had been living with my elderly mother but his deteriorating condition meant that she couldn’t cope. This was causing untold stress within the family.
We managed to secure a place at Grosvenor and without doubt, this was the best thing that we could have done for him.
Grosvenor is warm, nicely decorated and furnished and has every facility my brother needs.
He is a relatively young man at 50 but the way in which the wonderful staff have helped him settle in and integrate with fellow residents is humbling. The nursing care he receives is exceptional, delivered by skilled and professional staff who meet his every need.
We are particularly impressed with Covid measures which strike the right balance keeping everybody safe and keeping in touch.

The improvements to my brother's life is immeasurable.

My father was at Grosvenor for around 20 months, he had Dementia and Alzheimers. The staff and their care was to a high standard, my Mum was given support and reassurance with regard to any issues about my Dad. Meals were freshly prepared and were organised around what Dad wanted to eat. The home is set in a quiet village, the gardens have been beautifully kept for all residents to enjoy, including the patio area. Dad's room with ensuite was very clean and restful. The home is kept to a high standard. My Mum and myself were very happy with his care.

My mother spent the last 4 years of her life at Grosvenor House. She was unable to communicate properly and was bedridden for all of that time. The staff and care were wonderful and although she couldn't socialise with the other residents they went to great lengths to keep her cheerful and included. It was obvious that all the staff from the cleaners to the nurses and managers cared deeply about the residents and their well-being. I am really pleased that we chose Grosvenor House for my mother's final years.

Mum has been a resident for almost 4 years. During that time she has been extremely well cared for including times when she has been very unwell. I have always been informed of what is happening even though the last difficult months. The home is very clean and modern and all of the staff are outstanding in their care of the residents. They have organised so many activities for the residents whilst our contact with them has been difficult over the last months. All this has given the family peace of mind that she is well looked after and genuinely respected and loved as part of the Grosvenor family.

My mother and her sister became residents about 7 years ago and always have had excellent care.
In recent times during the Covid pandemic, the staff have worked so hard to maintain the safety of the residents whilst allowing some contact with relatives. My mother is 94 and survived Covid this January thanks to the excellent care and careful infection control which I believe minimised the viral load my mother had to fight.

All the staff were excellent at responding to daily requests for updates on her condition despite the significant pressure they were all under. Our family cannot thank them enough.

Hi, I’m Megan. I’ve been working at Grosvenor House since 2021, when I first joined the team supporting people with video calling during the Covid pandemic. It was such a rewarding experience helping residents stay connected with their loved ones during a difficult time, and it inspired me to progress further in care.

Since then, I’ve become a Care Assistant and achieved my Level 3 in Health and Social Care. I’m really keen to keep learning, developing my skills, and expanding my knowledge so I can provide the best possible support to the people we care for.

I absolutely love my role and take pride in making a difference every day. Making people smile is the best part of my job — whether that’s through a chat, a laugh, or singing and dancing along to some country music together!
