Review from Sue C (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 December 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My father came in 6 months ago. He has deteriorated over this time. He is now NIL by mouth (from 29/11/25). The care staff are extremely diligent, making sure he is safe (he has been confined to bed for over 2 months). Washing him daily. At present he is unable to swallow without choking. The care staff are amazing, cleaning his mouth regularly. He is regurgitating his stomach, producing thick bits in his throat. He couldn't have more diligent care. Thank you.

Review from David F (Grandson of Resident) published on 30 September 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The staff in this home are great, the activities co-ordinator in particular does an amazing job, my granddad likes to go out a lot while he still can and she makes time for him no matter how busy she is. The other staff do their best for him and he tells me how nice the food is and how they go out their way to try get them a few extras he likes to make his day. I highly recommend the place. It's quite a small home compared to some of the new purpose built ones but this makes it feel much nicer and because it's right in the middle of town really easy to get to. If I have to say the one thing that stands out to me and grandad is the activities they are varied and she caters to all of the residents preferences. For me and grandad it's one of the best homes in the town and for anyone looking around for a reasonable cost home this one is one to consider.

A welcome relief to see my grandmother so happy and content. The staff are amazing and really do treat each resident as individuals.
Having spoken to the manager, I am reassured that my grandmother is in the best place, not only to meet her medical and nursing needs, but also to social and mental health needs.
It's also really great that family are invited to stay for lunch, when pre arranged.
In short , the home is run like a hotel, with all the comforts of a home

Can't praise the team enough

Fab staff who cared for Grandad, each one gave back his voice and confidence he lost in his stroke. We had peace of mind leaving home knowing he would have support and what felt like friendly faces around him.

Generally service is good. Carers do a sterling job, however, I have concerns about the continous short staff issues. I reported to social services but management blatantly lied over staffing arrangements, when speaking to different carers it became that it is on a regular basis even from a senior member of staff. Only 2-3 carers a night, which is not acceptable as if there is fire patients won't get out. Reported.

Review from M D (Friend of Resident) published on 18 June 2024 Submitted via Postal Card

I was unable to answer the question related to management as I have not yet had any dealings with the managers so I asked my friend/resident, he immediately said competent and helpful, then added friendly.

My only other comment would be to say he would prefer to have smaller portions, especially the mid-day meal, he hates waste. Apart from that he is very happy and satisfied.

Reply from Alison Kilgallon, Registered Manager at Kings Court Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. I will pass this on to the staff. It was a pleasure caring for him, he was a true gentleman.

Review from M K (Sister of Resident) published on 20 May 2024 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My sister came into the care of the home in October 2022. Altogether, she was there for 18 months. During that time she was treated with respect, love and patience. She was encouraged to remain active, her opinion was valued and her medical GP appointments were kept. As visitors, we were always welcomed, felt that all the staff knew who we were and everyone was friendly towards us. We would certainly recommend this care home.

On our visit, we were assured that my sister was relaxed and happy in the care of the staff at the home. She enjoyed all the activities organised, was confident in the personal diabetic care she received and enjoyed regular conversations with the staff. Our thanks to all the staff at the care home for their loving care.

Mum was always happy with such a lovely smile on her face. The carers always had time for Mum, the way they talked, supported and cared for Mum was lovely, very professional, very caring and nothing was too much.
She enjoyed the activities and spending time with other residents. She enjoyed the one-to-one activities such as foot massage, fingernail painting and even the trip to the shops and the local Church.

Kings Court is a happy and safe home.

The care that my father received at Kings Court, was excellent. He spent the last three months of his life at the home. The staff were friendly and caring. They treated Dad with respect at all times, as though he was one of their own. The surroundings are very homely and welcoming. The food was excellent and Dad really appreciated this, whilst he could. Thank you to the manager and her staff. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone.

I cannot praise too highly the staff at Kings Courts Nursing Home. The staff are kind, hardworking and conscientious and the care that my mother received was excellent. Mum had always been anxious about going in to care home but the staff very quickly helped her to feel at home and put her at her ease. As a family, we also felt that we were welcome and the staff were both kind and courteous to us at all times. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kings Court Nursing Home to anyone who may find themselves in need of full time residential or nursing care.
