With my elderly father needing to move into residential nursing care this was a very anxious time not only for my father but our family as a whole, it is a major change and fraught with concerns, questions, worries for all. I have to say from stepping into Eliot House and meeting the manager and staff for the first time, we were immediately put at ease, everybody was so welcoming and clearly understood and empathised with how we were all feeling. We were given a tour of the home and everything was explained to us all, the staff immediately engaged with my father and explained how if he became a resident, it would be his home in which they worked rather than him being in their place of work, they stressed how important it was to them that dad saw it as his home, not a prison, he could make his room his own. My father has now been there for a number of weeks and absolutely loves it. His health, social interaction, mobility and general happiness have improved beyond recognition. Superb.

I am very comfortable here, care is excellent. I would recommend this care home. This care home should be visited by people in Government or someone in authority.

The staff work extremely hard at Eliot House always on the go and doing their very best but are understaffed like most care providers. The staff are approachable friendly and welcoming but as they are so busy you don’t like to bother them but nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The building is getting very tired in places and could do with some modernising.

The staff at this care home are brilliant and go out of their way to help the residents. They never stop working, doing all that they can. Like all care homes, it would be good to have more staff. This care home has just been taken over by a new care group and has already started to update the building.

Where do I start to say my feelings about Eliot House? This place is a little gem. My partner has been here for about three months now. The care that is given to the residents is the most loving and caring attitude you could wish for. These people are so dedicated to the residents, and the passion they show gives me 100% satisfaction in knowing this is a fantastic place. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them, even just to ask questions and also they are very supportive to us the family. Thanks so much to everyone for the love and care you are giving!

I always find all staff at Eliot House extremely friendly helpful and welcoming during my visits to see Mum. Any questions I may have are always answered. During these difficult times (covid 19 related) I am unable to see Mum but Facebook allows me to see her taking part in activities from day to day and she always looks happy. I would just like to say on behalf of my family that we are all extremely grateful to all for caring for Mum. Keep up the excellent work.

My father has been in Elliot House for approximately 10 months now, and can honestly say I’m am more than extremely satisfied with the care that he is getting. It has been a very emotional and stressful time not being able to see dad due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the staff at the home have kept me informed over the phone on how dad is doing and they also have an excellent Facebook page where they put lots of photos and videos on. All the staff deserve a massive thank you for all they have done for the residents in these testing times. You are a credit to your profession, thank you.

Both my parents moved to Eliot House in May 2017. Sadly my father died two years ago but my Mum is still being very well cared for at Eliot House. High standards of care and hygiene have been maintained throughout and during the Covid Pandemic, we have been regularly updated with information. The residents are kept well occupied with activities and events when able. Relatives are kept well informed about the activities that they have been doing.

I would like to commend Eliot House staff for the fantastic effort they have put into keeping the residents safe over the past year. They have, through necessity, had to limit the visiting arrangements but have kept us fully informed throughout by sending out regular newsletters, posting pictures of our loved ones on Facebook and receiving phone calls. I have been struck by the fantastic effort that has been made to provide daily activities for the residents to fill the gaps where they would in the past have visitors with the staff going well beyond what I would expect of a carer. I can't thank everyone enough and look forward to the day when life becomes more normal and I can give my mum a big hug.

My mum was provided with excellent care during her stay at Eliot House. Everyone was caring and compassionate towards her needs. Mum settled in nicely, the only thing we were disappointed with was the size of her room although she did have everything she needed. On the whole, we are very satisfied with the overall care.

An excellent care home without whose care my husband would not be here. Exceptionally caring staff and nothing too much trouble for them. Lovely environment and excellent crafting and entertainment facilities which all the residents enjoy. My mum lived at Eliot House for over two and a half years, her behaviour was demanding due to advanced Alzheimer’s disease. The nurses and carers at Eliot House showed nothing but care and compassion for my mum, she enjoyed excellent home-cooked meals, being a cook herself this mattered, she enjoyed many trips out to the garden centre, seaside, etc always well supported by the staff. We at times paid for extra 1-1 support which the Matron was happy to organise and support, in addition, we decorated and furnished her room to our choice. One of the reasons we chose this home was that if needed my mum could live there until the end of her life, which she did, the carer who greeted her on her first day 2 and a half years previously also cared for her with the same compassion at the end of her life, my mum ending her days at Eliot House being cared for by people who knew and really cared for her. As a registered nurse myself I would highly recommend this home to you.

All the staff are very kind but there are two things where my friend is concerned. (She is a person of early 60's used to living alone and quietly, not TV on all the time)
1) It is very noisy - as well as alarms, everyone speaks at top volume and the self-closing doors bang repeatedly.

2) Lack of privacy/peace and quiet - I only know of visits but there is only one place (often taken) to have a private conversation (rooms are inaccessible upstairs) and there is nowhere to read or think quietly without TV.

Eliot House is an excellent care home. The staff are always friendly and Dad is always complimentary about the care he receives. They understand him and make every effort to adapt to his needs. The food is home cooked, looks appetising and he really enjoys his meals. Everyone makes you feel welcome and it has been always from the day he arrived. I have no worries whatsoever and when I leave Dad I am reassured he will be well looked after and cared for.

If you are looking for a care home for your loved one, then this is the one! My mum was a resident here for the last 2 years and was extremely happy and well cared for and was shown genuine love and affection ( as were all the residents. They were family.)
The manager and staff always gave a warm welcome and offered a cup of tea/ coffee on arrival. Mum enjoyed the regular entertainments and days out including boat trips, garden centres and Cleethorpes.
During Mums final days her care was exceptional, giving comfort and support to both Mum and ourselves through this sad time.

Cannot fault this wonderful team of professional, devoted carers.

My husband and I have had real care and support at Eliot House. The support for me has been brilliant and the genuine love and care for my husband is always obvious from the matron, nurses and all the care staff. They have given my husband support and thoughtfulness. I am so grateful as it hasn't been easy for him or them with his dementia.

After several weeks in hospital due to a massive deterioration of mental state due to dementia, my husband moved to Eliot House. He died 6 weeks later but whilst there he could not have had better care. The home had been recommended to me and luckily there was a vacancy.

The staff are devoted workers who support one another in their tasks, the food is excellent and there are activities for those able to participate. Staff were very supportive to me also during a very difficult and emotional period. Top marks to everyone who works there.

The last place I wanted my father to spend the last years of his life was in a care home. However, after he was sectioned due to dementia the authorities had total control of his future and decided he required permanent nursing care 24 hours a day. Everything was out of my control except for the choice of his care home, which was not easy.

After visiting several homes, Eliot House was chosen by my sister and myself as the best option. Therefore the reason for me writing this review is to say that, despite my unease and concern about him being placed in residential care, after visiting him once or twice a week every week over the last two years, I have been very impressed with the manager and her team of staff in all areas of care. Also, my father has settled unexpectedly well into the home and he has always stated that he has no complaints about the way he is looked after.
