A dedicated and experienced team is passionate about providing first-class 24-hour nursing care and residential care, alongside expert care for people with dementia in the Memory Lane Community. They also offer respite care for short breaks.

Located in Grantham, Newton House is a single storey purpose-built home with extensive garden areas planted with seasonal plants, fruit and vegetables. Centrally situated for friends and relatives to visit, at any time of the day, and they believe you will find they're ideally suited to meet your needs - both now and in the future.

A team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focus on the individual needs of all residents with a tailored care plan for each person. As a carer myself I was well impressed with the standard of the care, cleanliness, the warmness and friendliness of the staff, nurses and management. They worked very well as a team and nothing was too much trouble. They treated my mother and ourselves with such dignity it made us feel like it was all
family. I have been in a lot of care homes and as good as some of them were, nothing comes close to Newton House. I am really pleased my Mum ended her last days in such a lovely, warm welcoming place. Thank you to all staff nurses.

The care staff are excellent but some of the nursing staff do not maintain the carers. The word 'carer' as a job title does not apply. They're too busy to sit and spend time talking to residents and would love to do that more.
In my opinion, the nursing should do 'physically' more things to assist
when busy and short staffed.
Food quality has become worse and portions too large causing high levels of wastage as most people are older they are slow to eat/feed themselves.
More foods should be softer and more time given.
Juice (fresh) only in the morning is pathetic.
Also, it would really help nurses if more meds were dispersible/liquid.

I visit every day and am always pleased to see the good interaction between all staff and my wife. Also, there is a good choice of food - lots of entertainment often to a good, professional standard and from in-house therapists/entertainers.


Corridors, rooms etc are nicely decorated.

Excellent, friendly staff who look after my dad very well. He is treated kindly and with dignity. The food he receives is very good. The unit is very clean and my family are very happy with the care he receives.

My wife and I come in weekly with our PAT dog, Oakley.
We have registered as volunteers so we are able to go round the residents without supervision.
The staff always make us very welcome and the residents appreciate our visit with Oakley.

My husband was admitted in October last year and I was very impressed with the welcome we received when we arrived. Staff are very happy to help with anything, always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. Activities are wonderful, just been to the Valentine meal which was excellent. The way tables
were dressed and decorations around the room, given a box of chocolates and a rose. The staff could not have done more to make it a lovely day.

My mum came in for 1 week's respite care, to give me a break and to allow a shower to be fitted. On the first impression, the home is clean and tidy and the food is very good.
However, on reflection, I feel the staff/carers need to be more proactive with the clients and be more encouraging when it
comes to moving clients about - showering and washing. My mum had never had any odour before she came in but did when she came home. She also had an untreated eye infection (despite me raising it with a staff member ) - all it took was a call to the GP on the day she got home. I know it is unsettling for anyone to move from their own home, maybe my expectations were too high, but I expected her to be more supported in her new environment.

The staff are very helpful and friendly and treat the residents with dignity. The Castlegate unit is well designed for those residents who like to walk with secure access to the garden. My wife is on a liquidised diet which never looks very appetising however the normal diets look reasonable. The rooms
are always clean and tidy with en-suite toilet and hand basin with the option of adding personal furniture. Overall, good experience.

My mother has been a resident for 7 years. We have seen many changes in that time. Her nursing care has been very consistent and excellent. Her nurses know her well and vulnerability. The only change that has been a disappointment is the gardens of her unit which used to be a delight but which are this
year a total disappointment and uncared for. The activities team are excellent and the carers are well trained, it would be good if more of then stayed longer term.

We are pleased with the care mother has received. She is clean and fresh and has clean clothes. Her room is also clean staff are brilliant particularly a male carer he is absolutely superb. The other care workers are also so caring, so friendly just so nice.

Always very clean but feel staff sometimes need more training with certain patients, have more respect for patients and don't treat everyone like they have dementia.


Getting to patients quicker when the bell is pressed could also be improved and making sure equipment is always at hand. Hoist out

of use a lot and they don't have another one on the ward.

Staff are very friendly and efficient, however, I feel they are often rushed as there are not enough staff during peak times. For example; my mother has occasionally missed her bath day because of the lack of staff. I would in fact, like my mother to have more than one bath a week. Overall, very nice

I have worked for the healthcare sector for many years and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the home. I like to build strong working relations with the team and stakeholders involved.

Sam has been a member of the Newton House family for seven years and has worked in care for thirty years. She describes working on Memory Lane and wishing to better the lives of those touched by dementia as her calling.


She loves spending time with and getting to know our residents, she enjoys being a part of such a friendly and supportive team of colleagues.


In her spare time, Sam loves to Crochet, she has four children and plans on adding a puppy to her family in the near future.

Tina Biggins

Tina has been a part of the Newton for nearly 30 years and takes an immense sense of pride in her role.


She loves being a part of the team in the home and helping our residents.


In her spare time she enjoys being a local cubs and scouts leader .

Charlotte

Charlotte Yates

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2013

Charlotte is proud to hold the role of Deputy Manager at Newton House, she has been with the home since 2013.


Starting as a newly qualified nurse and then becoming head of community on Castlegate before beginning her new role as Deputy Manager.


She speaks highly of the feeling of being part of a larger family in the home, embracing her colleagues, residents and family members.


Charlotte's passion lies in Memory Lane and wanting to enrich the lives of those touched by dementia.


Away from Newton House, Charlotte enjoys spending time with her family including her three daughters, and two dogs, going for walks and enjoying reading and cooking.

Margaret

Margaret Campbell

Job Title: Head of Community Joined: 2009

Margaret has been a member of the Newton House family since 2009 and in that time she has been a much-cherished nurse and the Head of Community on Brownlow.


Margaret loves being a part of the Memory Lane Community and making a real difference in our residents' lives, whilst supporting their families and loved ones. She finds her role at Newton House to be incredibly rewarding.


In her spare time, Margaret enjoys yoga, and going for walks, in particular at Belton House where she is a member of the National Trust. Margaret loves to spend time with her family and her grown-up children.

Hazel Mhembere

My name is Hazel has been a proud part of the Newton House family since May 2024. I have been a qualified nurse for over 10 years. I am extremely passionate in delivering exceptional palliative end of life care and love been part of the Newton House Family.
