Visiting Tanglewood three days a week to visit my wife I am generally impressed with the efficiency of the staff in dealing with her dementia. They always seem smiling and happy, irrespectively of my wife's attitudes. All the meals I have had at Tanglewood have been more then adequate. The entertainment staff treat the residents well and have various activities to save people from being bored. All in all I do not think my wife could be looked after any better and the only problem, not to do with Tanglewood is a 56 mile round journey from my home to visit her.
The care , friendship and love that my mum has received by every member of the Tanglewood team has been wonderful. My mum has been so well looked after , I am so grateful to everyone there. The help from Alice, the manager has been without doubt 100%. Nothing has ever been too much trouble, and my mums dementia difficulties have always been addressed with kindness and consideration . As visitors we have always been welcomed warmly, and mums condition always discussed with us. Tanglewood is always lovely and clean , great food and a friendly atmosphere
We are truly touched by your kind words and delighted to hear that your mum has received such compassionate care, friendship and support from our team. Supporting residents living...
Walked into a very positive happy atmosphere from all staff and residents. Visiting my family who is totally bedridden. Very busy staff - always popping in to see that residents are ok. Activities taylored to clients needs. Communication at all times - very positive. Constant chatter with staff and residents. Needs met on every angle. Would recommend.
We are committed to providing...
I could not wish for a better place than having my mum in your nursing home, staff and attention to detail will always be 5 star. I believe my mum was well looked after spending the short time she spent in your nursing home. We wish all the best for this branch. Kind regards Kevin.
We're truly grateful for your feedback and are pleased to hear that your mum was cared for with kindness, dignity and compassion during her time with us. Your recognition of the team and their dedication means...
My FIL has been welcomed by every member of the Tanglewood team, from Top to bottom.
There has been a settling in period for him & us as a family, with some teething problems,That is to be expected,
However the Team have strived to resolve & overcome these issues with a positive mindset.
The food is lovely, there is an abundance of snacks & refreshments available throughout the day,
The kitchen staff are fantastic and have accommodated My FIL's Level 4 dietary needs, I am confident this will continue.
The facilities could be improved;I.e incontinance sheets and disposable sputum bowls should be made more readily available and accessible, as well as disposable gloves & more hand sanitizer's, especially at high traffic areas such as internal doors areas.
Our overall experience at Tanglewood Horncastle has been warm, welcoming, Honest, & positive,
Your kind comments regarding the food and our kitchen team are greatly...
Once Mum moved in there were a few teething troubles, they were getting to know both Mum and me. I was adapting to not being hands on, as I had been previously, and letting them get on with their job of looking after Mum.
In any organisation you would expect to meet people that you didn't quite get along with. I can honestly say this was not the case with Tanglewood Horncastle. Everyone I met was friendly, caring and always had time for you. This was care staff, housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance.. everyone.
I can't thank the staff enough, for the care they gave Mum and the support they gave me,
We understand how stressful and overwhelming it can be to search for a care home, particularly following a hospital stay and during the Christmas and New Year period. We are pleased to hear that from your first...
The staff and manager are amazing. The manager goes above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble for the day staff.

My mum has been at Tanglewood Horncastle for nearly 3 years and we're so grateful for the care she receives. Like many families, juggling work and other commitments often brings guilt about not visiting more, but this weekend we were able to celebrate her birthday early with all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren and it meant the world. We sang old songs in the beautiful gardens and Mum was glowing with joy. Staff brought out drinks and even said they enjoyed the music while working! Special thanks to the Lifestyle Lead, whose updates on social media of Mum smiling and joining in reassures us she's happy and well. Tanglewood isn't just a care home, it's a place filled with kindness, laughter, and love. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're truly honoured to have cared for your mum over the past three years, and it means a great deal to know that you and your family feel supported and reassured. It was such a joy to see your mum surrounded by her loved ones during the...
The staff and reception are very accommodating when I was in a difficult situation. The care and consideration have helped to have my wife back at home. This was by encouraging her to get back on her feet after recovering from a chest infection that debilitated her.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of Tanglewood Care Home. We're so pleased to hear that our dedicated team was able to support both you and your wife, and that she is now recovering well. We hope you're both keeping well, and please don't hesitate to get in touch if there's anything more we can do for you.
My mum arrived on her first day in the home apprehensive and frightened. The staff were all amazing, we were met by the manager and deputy, who showed us to mum's room - we were introduced to the nurses, carers, cleaners and activities coordinator. They all came to the room to meet Mum and put her at ease. A special mention to the maintenance man, who put Mum's pictures up he was kind and considerate, and Mum said he was lovely.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of Tanglewood Care Home. We know that moving into a care home can feel a bit overwhelming at first, so it's really heartwarming to hear that our team helped your mum feel comfortable and at ease. We hope she's settling in nicely, and if there's anything else you need or any questions you have, please don't hesitate to reach out, we're always here to help.
The best thing, by far, about Tanglewood are the staff. They have been fantastic in caring for my mum.

I have visited many care homes over the years, and Tanglewood Care Home in Horncastle is (in my view) a cut above the rest. Great staff, great layout, great care, great food, great atmosphere...a first-class home. My partner stayed there two years ago, my brother stayed there last year, and (if I ever need to go into a care home) I would hope to stay there too. I can't recommend it highly enough. A big thank you to all the staff.

I have been visiting Tanglewood for over 9 years, it is one of the older homes without all the glitz, cinemas, etc - which I can honestly say from experience it is not always necessary, it's the care and commitment of the staff that appealed to me. I would recommend on care, sensitivity and support and friendliness shown to residents and family. All staff across the board from maintenance to housekeeping to canteen and staff not mentioned. The social connection that residents have with each other shines through at activities and meal times. The food is very good - sponge amazing. Keep up the good work. A little update on the home - carpets etc is required.

Nothing was too much trouble, including the erection of an outdoor gazebo with seating and tables, the provision of bottled fresh water, tea and coffee facilities, and helping with the clear-up afterwards each day. All of the staff provide great care, support, and are polite and friendly. We have nothing but praise for the teams involved.

We were visiting and from the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with smiles and helpful suggestions. We had to wait a few moments for our friend to be ready but were well looked after by staff. Our friend, although now in need of nursing care, was very complimentary about his whole experience. Tanglewood is an impressive establishment.

Personal experiences led me to switch from retail management to pursuing a career in care. I started my journey as a support worker in 2016. My main goal was to repay the care and kindness of the people involved in my own families care and rehabilitation. I have a wealth of knowledge from working in various different settings, in varied roles with different client groups. I have been lucky to have worked with fabulous managers who have helped me develop, grow and achieve my ambitions so far.
I am committed and passionate about providing a safe, welcoming and happy home for the people that live, visit and work at the service. Prioritizing the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents and staff.
I have self-funded my own learning and have completed The Certificate of Higher Education in Adult Health and Social Care and gained a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care. I am keen to work towards level 6 and 7 qualifications in the future.
My proudest achievement has been being nominated for the Care Home Registered Manager Award for the Lincolnshire Care Awards two years running by the staff and residents at my previous service. I won the award in March 2024 and remain dedicated and proud of the work I do to make a real difference to people’s lives.
In my personal life I love animals and enjoy reading, learning, theatre, spending time with my family and walking. I am a proud Mum, Daughter and Wife. My family are very supportive, which enables me to have a calm and positive approach and dedicate myself to the work I do to enhance people’s lives.

"I joined the team at Tanglewood in December 2021 . My background was 26 years in the hospitality sector. I wanted to do something new, with better work life balance. I have found this along with a great sense of belonging and enjoy coming to work every day.."

I enjoy my role as Senior Care Assistant at Tanglewood and am proud that I am now also a qualified Nursing Assistant; I achieved my qualification at Tanglewood. My work is rewarding and means I meet the most amazing people. Our residents make coming to work a genuine pleasure and every day brings something new."
