My mum has been there for a few years now, and she has been looked after exceptionally well. All the staff are lovely and always approachable.
The manager has always been there to discuss anything, and the food looks and smells amazing.
Under the circumstances, there is always a positive and happy
atmosphere.

A good, safe home with excellent staff who always put the safety and care of the residents first.
Could look at a system that protects residents' property from other residents. This refers to the dementia unit, so I understand the difficulty. It does however get extremely irritating.
Other than
that, extremely good home that provides a safe space for my dad.

Dad has settled in, even now joining some events that are put on in the care home. The staff have been very good with him. The food is good. Everyone is now in a routine of making sure his hearing aids are on him or in his room.

My mum stayed with you in January allowing me to go away for a break. This was the first time Mum had stayed in a home and said she would be happy to stay again. It was nice to have piece of mind and not worry while we were away.

My dad has just completed a 3 week period of respite care while our mum recovered from a hip replacement. The home manager and the team at Toray Pines provide an excellent standard of care, they have been there for Dad when we could not. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Toray Pines to anyone who is
looking for care for a loved one whether that is respite or a permanent basis. You have to be a special kind of individual to work in care, you certainly don’t do it for the money. The home manager's team has those special individuals in spades!
Reply from Alicia Bradon, Marketing and Communications Manager at Toray Pines Care HomeWe are truly touched by your heartfelt words regarding the care provided to your dad at Toray Pines. Providing respite care during a recovery period is a crucial service, and we're delighted to hear that the home manager and the team went above and beyond to ensure your dad's well-being. Your recommendation speaks volumes about the quality of care at Toray Pines. It's heartening to know that our team, driven by a genuine passion for their work, made a positive impact during this period. The care staff are wonderful and management and administration are really helpful with any issues that arise. If there is a negative it's the size of the room that is allocated to our relative. By today's standards, it's really not adequate to meet the needs of a resident who's reliant on hoisting for
all transfers and a wheelchair user. I appreciate the building was probably adequate when it was first built and some rooms are of a higher specification.
Reply from Ellie Wibberley, Marketing and Communications Manager at Toray Pines Care HomeThank you for your feedback, the team work really hard to create a positive environment for everyone who lives and visits us and we are really happy you feel the same way. However, We do have some smaller rooms but we do feel these are adequate in meeting the needs of your loved one. We encourage everyone to give any feedback to the home manager as we do have larger rooms and can look at accommodating your request.

My mother has been a resident at Toray Pines since 2001 so I think I am well versed in the care and love she has and is receiving.
The staff have always shown care and compassion towards her and at the outset her dear sister and friend.
As a community the town is very fortunate to have Toray Pines
where os many friends spend their later years. Mum would no longer be with us if it wasn't for the Toray team's care and attention.
Reply from Jacky Blundell, Marketing and Communications Manager at Toray Pines Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your heartfelt thoughts about Toray Pines. We are honored to have been a part of your mother's life since 2001 and deeply appreciate your long-standing trust in our care.

Creating a supportive community is at the core of our mission, and we are grateful for the positive impact Toray Pines has had on the lives of your family and friends.

As is often the case we unfortunately had to seek the support of this care environment when faced with the sudden need for a safe and caring convalescent environment for my elderly parents. The communication was quick, sympathetic and caring and a room was found. We have been well supported and my parents’
increasingly complex needs have been met and they have settled in quickly. Heartfelt thanks to all the team.

I visited Toray Pines Care Home on the 31st of March 2023 to discuss my father with the deputy manager, she was superb in reassuring me that they would take on my father's care. This was so appreciated. I moved Dad into the home later that day and we haven't looked back - the care is outstanding, as
are all the staff. Dad has improved immensely since being in their care. I cannot stress enough how wonderful they all are and how much relief I feel knowing he is in their capable hands.

I could not recommend Toray Pines enough. The care, love, and 100% dedication they provided to my mother were second to none. They always kept me updated with Mum's progress and were always on hand day and night. My mum spent four years in their excellent care, care that was professional at all times,

Overall good. Sometimes care is lacking, for example, no socks or slippers on residents' feet who are sat for a long time and cannot put them on themselves. Or hair not combed or a drink left in front of them to get cold. Just little things like that, that make all the difference.

My dad likes his routines and is unsettled when this routine changes in any way, like going for respite. However, he settled seamlessly into Toray Pines Care Home, received outstanding personal, medical and homely care and returned home talking about how much he had enjoyed his stay.
The
carers are lovely, the food is lovely and the staff are happy meaning the residents are happy. The manager and his staff run a fabulous home with ease. Highly recommended! Thank you for a stress-free week, we would love to return.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.643)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.643) out of 10 for Toray Pines Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.643 for Toray Pines Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (200 Excellents x 5) + (83 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 294 Ratings = 4.643
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Toray Pines Care Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
