We were invited to join them for a tea party in celebration of the Queen's birthday. It was lovely, residents and staff having a lovely tome, singing, clapping and eating cake, especially seeing my nana having a great time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

My mother has always been treated kindly and with dignity. I never announce my visits and have always found her to be clean, comfortable and her needs well catered for. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants their relative to live the best life they can in the circumstances.

I'm writing on behalf of my mum. Her eyesight isn't very good. My mum has expressed her feelings on her short stay at White Gables and has no complaints. She's very happy with the way the staff and everyone concerned has looked after and cared for her. She has enjoyed her stay. I'm also very happy and
therefore no complaints from me either. Mum sais she's had some lovely meals and plenty of cups of tea. The rooms are very presentable and clean.

Mum has been a resident at White Gables since 2004 which speaks volumes for the whole care package which she receives there. The staff are friendly, helpful and well trained. They are caring and thoughtful in their dealings with Mum and have always treated her with dignity and respect. Her privacy is
always considered and I have full confidence that she is in a secure and happy environment. The Home provides 24 hour medical care from qualified nurses who also keep the family informed of any treatment needed. The food is varied and cleanliness is first class. The management and staff are approachable and queries are dealt with promptly. Nothing is too much trouble.
I consider myself very fortunate to have found White Gables and have always been very grateful for the tremendous support and friendship given to both Mum and myself as NOK.
I can and do recommend White Gables.

Having experienced two previous "care" homes with my mother in one and my grandmother in another I held a very special opinion upon the validity of most claims you and all others make on quality of care. White Gables is a singular and outstanding exception. Your "quality of care" knew no bounds you
gave so much more. You gave my aunt a "quality of life" with genuine respect but in a warm and loving manner. You nurtured her dignity and never patronised her. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.506)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.506) out of 10 for White Gables Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.788 for White Gables Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (79 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 99 Ratings = 4.788
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.718 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for White Gables Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 11 = 0.818
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
