White Gables is a purpose-built single-storey nursing home set on the outskirts of Skellingthorpe, a village just three miles west of Lincoln. Built in the late 1990s and joining the Oak Tree Care Group in 2022, the home has a distinctive warmth and farmhouse character that immediately sets it apart. Surrounded by open fields and working farms - with cattle grazing on the neighbouring land - it feels genuinely removed...

White Gables accepts residents who are privately funded, funded by the local authority, or funded through the Integrated Care Board (ICB) where nursing or healthcare funding is approved.

For residents funded through the local authority, a third-party top-up will be required, depending on individual circumstances. This can be discussed in more detail during the enquiry and assessment process.

Private fees typically range from £1,300 to £1,400 per week, depending on the bedroom selected and the level of care and support required and resident complexities. Fees are determined following a pre-admission assessment, which helps establish each resident’s individual care needs and any associated complexities.

Please note that hairdressing, chiropody services and personal toiletries are not included within the weekly fee and may incur additional separate charges, which can be paid when and if required via personal allowances.

A very good nursing home everybody is always welcome and made to feel part of the home environment, residents and visitors. Day to day personal care is 100%. The care home White Gables could do with some updating other than that an excellent provider.

We were invited to join them for a tea party in celebration of the Queen's birthday. It was lovely, residents and staff having a lovely tome, singing, clapping and eating cake, especially seeing my nana having a great time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

My mother has always been treated kindly and with dignity. I never announce my visits and have always found her to be clean, comfortable and her needs well catered for. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants their relative to live the best life they can in the circumstances.

I'm writing on behalf of my mum. Her eyesight isn't very good. My mum has expressed her feelings on her short stay at White Gables and has no complaints. She's very happy with the way the staff and everyone concerned has looked after and cared for her. She has enjoyed her stay. I'm also very happy and therefore no complaints from me either. Mum sais she's had some lovely meals and plenty of cups of tea. The rooms are very presentable and clean.

Overall Experience
Mum has been a resident at White Gables since 2004 which speaks volumes for the whole care package which she receives there. The staff are friendly, helpful and well trained. They are caring and thoughtful in their dealings with Mum and have always treated her with dignity and respect. Her privacy is always considered and I have full confidence that she is in a secure and happy environment. The Home provides 24 hour medical care from qualified nurses who also keep the family informed of any treatment needed. The food is varied and cleanliness is first class. The management and staff are approachable and queries are dealt with promptly. Nothing is too much trouble.
I consider myself very fortunate to have found White Gables and have always been very grateful for the tremendous support and friendship given to both Mum and myself as NOK.

I can and do recommend White Gables.

Having experienced two previous "care" homes with my mother in one and my grandmother in another I held a very special opinion upon the validity of most claims you and all others make on quality of care. White Gables is a singular and outstanding exception. Your "quality of care" knew no bounds you gave so much more. You gave my aunt a "quality of life" with genuine respect but in a warm and loving manner. You nurtured her dignity and never patronised her. Thank you.
