Mum has been at Ashurst news for 5 years and although it has been through many changes she is happy there. However we are concerned that we have to monitor her for sores and get her care plan changed as her health deteriorates. The difference too when certain senior staff is in to others. Also the entertainment compared to another home ( mother in laws home) is really lacking with lots of people bored in the afternoon - especially at weekends. Not many staff in then either.
Food at lunch could be improved - always chicken or mince, always mixed with veg which contains broccoli which I can't eat.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you find our staff friendly and helpful. We're sorry to learn that the lunch options haven't met your expectations, we are always happy to accommodate individuals needs. Please see one of the team to discuss better options for you.
My room is comfortable and kept well by the housekeeping staff.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are so pleased that you feel comfortable in your surroundings. We will be sure to pass your comments on to the staff steam.
The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is good and surroundings are lovely.
All in all you couldn't hope for a better residential home for your loved ones.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are delighted to hear that you feel reassured knowing your mum is with us at Ashurst Mews.
It's wonderful to hear that you appreciate our friendly, attentive staff, the food, and the surroundings. We strive every day to provide a comfortable, caring, and...
Recently his condition has worsened requiring him to be moved to the Nursing wing of the home where he has settled in well and is receiving the extra care that he needs.
When an issue with his room, interaction with the staff has been highlighted and mentioned to the senior staff. The issue has been looked into and resolved within a day or 2.
The safety and security of Ashurst Mews is very good and feels safe and secure.
We chose Ashurst Mews due to the friendly staff, location, and knowing that at some point my father would need the extra full time nursing care that the home could provide without having the upheaval of searching and moving to another home.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted to hear that your father has settled well in the Nursing wing and that our team has been able to provide the additional care and support he needs.
We are especially pleased that the nursing staff's dedication and...
The sheets often are too small for the bed. Often my father has a valance on the bed not a sheet and he gets up in the night to straighten it so he not laying on the mattress.
The other thing he complains about is the food. Everything is cut up too small and the portions can be small. Too be fair, he doesn't ask if he wants more he just complains to me later. He has mentioned the food at the residents meeting. He is concerned that their is no feedback from these meetings
At the present time the activities are limited. Not much happening to keep him 'out of mischief'
Overall the home is well run with caring , professional staff.
Thank you for your thoughtful and balanced review. We're very pleased to hear that you find the home lovely and that our team has been kind, caring and professional in supporting your father - that means a great deal to us.
We're also grateful that you've highlighted a few areas where we can...
In my experience the staff are very helpful, caring and kind. If I have an issue with my mum's care, it is usually dealt with straight away. Mum has been in her room at Ashurst Mews for nearly 6 years and is settled. She loves to sit and look into the beautiful garden, especially as she leaves her room hardly at all now.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're so pleased to hear that your mum has been happily settled with us for nearly six years and enjoys spending time in our garden - it's wonderful to know she finds comfort in her surroundings
From a personal perspective I feel that I have received a lot of support from staff here, in making initial decisions, to hospital appointments and information on my aunties follow up care/medication needs.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted to hear that your auntie has felt well cared for and supported during her time at Ashurst Mews, and that our team has been able to encourage her independence while providing the care she needs.
Initially we had some concerns over what auntie tells us about what is happening to her ,but we are assured this is due to her dementia after talking to her nurse and the home management. I am sure her care is great from talking to medical staff and we appreciate what a difficult job caring is. We're happy she is getting all the care she needs.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We completely understand how confusing it can be when a loved one with dementia shares different perspectives, and we're glad that our nursing team and management could reassure you.
It's wonderful to hear that you feel confident your auntie is receiving the care she needs and that you appreciate the dedication of our staff.
Mum isn't able to join in many activities because of her extremely poor eyesight.
We understand how challenging poor eyesight can be for participating in activities, and we...
Dad went to live at Ashurst Mews on 6th December 2024. He was later re-located to the first floor as he needed more care. All his furniture and belongings were moved with speed and precision. He was later diagnosed with vascular dementia.Through good days and bad, all the staff treated dad with patience, understanding, and respect. They laughed with him, kept him in check, fed him, bathed him, and ensured he was clean from bowel movements. He was warm, comfortable and safe. Always safe. I was told by everyone that dad was a gentleman and cheerful. They were kind to his low moods. On Boxing Day 2025, he had a lovely day, ate well and laughed with the staff, and went to sleep. He never woke up. Even though I was out of the country visiting my sister, the communication, help and gentleness from the staff was wonderful, as was how I was welcomed and helped when I returned to clear dad's room. I couldn't have wished for dad to live in a better home for his final year of life.
Thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt experience. We are deeply touched by your kind words and are honoured to have cared for your dad during his time at Ashurst Mews.
It means a great deal to know that our team could provide comfort, respect, and dignity through both the good and more...
I have been coming to Ashhurst Mews Care Home almost every day for 22 months. In that time, I have not met any member of staff who has not given 100%. Everyone in any capacity, from the young girl who pushes the tea trolley very polite and well mannered to the laundry girls, support staff, cleaners, this must be the cleanest building in Moulton. The carers who really do care, even when working long shifts, are still smiling. The girls on reception are very smart and business-like. As for the nursing team, they really are top and are a credit to their profession. As far as I can see, the home runs like a well-oiled machine, which i believe is down to the management team.
Thank you so much for your kind words. As the Manager of Ashhurst Mews, I'm incredibly proud of the whole team. Every member, from housekeeping and laundry to carers, reception, and nursing, plays a vital role, and your recognition means the world to us. It's heartening to know our efforts have...
From the moment my father entered Ashurst Mews, he has been treated with dignity, kindness and respect. He has settled extremely well and classes it as his new home. He has made friends and enjoys the friendship he has made with his carers. He enjoys the food and the activities, family are encouraged to visit and I am always made to feel welcome. They keep me up to speed with everything and we are so pleased with Ashurst; it was very much the right decision to place my father in their care. A huge thanks to all the Ashurst team.
Since my husband has been at Ashurst Mews Care Home he has been cared for excellently. He is always treated with respect and dignity and if I advise the staff on any of his preferences they are always considered and instigated. The home always has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. His care is regularly monitored and any changes made accordingly. It is such a comfort to me to know he is cared for so well and as I'm a retired district nurse I have very good experience in this field. Thank you.
Ashurst Mews Care Home is home of very good standards and I would recommend it to others for their loved ones. I would also be happy to be a resident myself in days to come. She is very content and looked after so that when we visit she's content and positive and the staff are always caring and courteous.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. Your lovely feedback will be shared with the team. It is our pleasure to care for him and to get to know you.
New friendships with other residents brightened her days eradicating the loneliness felt when living on her own with reduced mobility and following the COVID lockdown her loss of confidence to return to her social groups. All the staff were friendly and attentive to both mum and the extended family when visiting.
Words do not seem enough I will forever be thankful for the excellent care given and will always pass on my recommendation to people considering care.
I am highly satisfied with the provision of supervision, safety and emotional support (and food!).
I had initially worried that this kind of establishment could be overly corporate, but have been impressed by the genuine empathy and interest from everybody in getting to know Mum as an individual.
I am confident that Mum is receiving the best possible care and attention. It has been a massive relief to be able to leave Mum in the care of the fantastic Ashurst Mews team, across the spectrum from management to maintenance, and to begin to feel like I am her daughter again rather than her carer.
During his five months in Ashurst my husband was always made as comfortable as possible. After a three week stay in hospital in April and May, he was very relieved to return to a familiar room and to be greeted by the staff he knew and trusted. They continued to care for him with exceptional dedication and compassion.
Ashurst Mews is a lovely care home where my mum feels very much at home and completely safe. I can't speak highly enough of the staff who are fantastic to Mum and the family members who visit. I feel completely confident in their care for her.
My Mother-in-law entered Ashurst Mews six months ago after numerous falls put her in danger at home. In that time she has settled, built up her weight to a satisfactory level, and improved in every way. Without exception the staff have been wonderful with her, treating her with the utmost compassion and care. They are all very patient and kind, giving her lots of confidence, the quality and choice of meals is extremely good. The home is a very welcoming place to residents and visitors.

I started my career as a Qualified Nurse back home in India. I moved to the UK for a higher study in Nursing, graduating BSC Hons from the University of Bedfordshire. I started my career as a Home Carer, was promoted to Senior, Team Leader and then was given the opportunity to become an Advanced Care Practitioner for nursing care. I was encouraged and promoted to Deputy Manager, I have been working at Ashurst Mews for 12 years now.
I am proud to be a part of the wonderful caring Ashurst Team, I am very compassionate, dedicated and committed to my team, residents and families.

Hello, I'm Keeley and I work in the kitchen at Ashurst Mews as Head Chef.
I have actually worked for Avery for 13 years, working in 4 different homes during this time, but I have settled and found my future here at Ashurst Mews where I have now been for 6 years.
Part of my role is to come up with different meals that are both healthy, nutritious and tasty. I tailor the meals to the individual needs and dietary requirements of each resident within the home and make these meals look inviting and the menus appealing.
My favourite thing about my role is seeing the faces of the residents tucking into their food, with my favourite quote being " That was my favourite meal." In my kitchen, I also spend time making sweet treats, for staff birthdays, coffee mornings, visitors and my most enjoyable to make, the resident's birthday cakes. When their faces light up it really makes my day.

Hi, I'm Julia and I have worked at Ashurst Mews Since May 2017.
Within my role I ensure the house is kept in a presentable condition, and that residents are living in a warm, welcoming, clean and fresh environment, making this their home from home and a place they are comfortable in.
I have a team who work alongside me, they are a very strong and reliable team who work hard to maintain high standards. I am proud of my team and the standards we produce. Within our role we also make time to gain bonds with the residents and their visitors, we meet and greet them in their rooms daily, supporting them with any cleaning tasks, laundry needs and general housekeeping. We ensure everything is labelled correctly, hung and sorted for each resident.
I enjoy taking time to get to know residents' routines and their personalities so I can support them on a person-centred approach.

My name is Pat and I'm the Head of Maintenance at Ashurst Mews.
Daily I look after the running of the maintenance side of the home, planning and carrying out scheduled tasks as necessary.
I have been doing maintenance for 25 years now but with Avery, I have been employed for 1 year. I always ensure any issues are always dealt with and make sure Ashurst Mews runs smoothly and safely for all who enter and live in the home.
I feel Ashurst Mews is a home that is running very well with very good communication and the atmosphere is always a pleasure to work in.

I joined Avery’s Ashurst Mews in December 2025, bringing with me extensive experience in the care sector, where I have worked since the age of 17. Over the years, I have progressed through a variety of roles, including Care Assistant, Senior Care Assistant, Deputy Manager, and Home Manager, gaining a well-rounded understanding of high-quality care and leadership.
My journey into care began by chance, but it quickly became clear that it was where I was meant to be. I’m deeply passionate about delivering exceptional care and take great pride in supporting, training, and developing my team to share my strong values and commitment to excellence.
I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management. In addition, I have completed specialist training in end-of-life care, further strengthening my ability to lead compassionate and person-centred services.
Outside of work, I serve as the Welfare Officer for a local judo club attended by my son, where I apply my safeguarding knowledge and commitment to wellbeing within the community.
I’m proud to lead the team at Ashurst Mews and to be part of the Avery Healthcare “One Family” ethos, ensuring residents, families, and staff feel supported, valued, and respected every day.

I began my career in care at just 15 years old, quickly discovering a genuine passion for supporting others. By the age of 18, I had progressed to Senior and Deputy Manager roles, gaining valuable leadership experience early in my career. After this, I took time to travel and explore different opportunities, trying my hand at a variety of roles, including Log Cabin building and landscaping. However, care has always been where my heart lies, and I have consistently found my way back to the sector.
I joined Avery shortly after the COVID pandemic, bringing with me years of hands-on experience and a strong commitment to resident well-being. Due to a spinal condition, I now work part-time as a Receptionist at Ashurst Mews, where I continue to make a positive difference by offering a warm welcome and ongoing support to residents, families, and colleagues.Outside of work, I enjoy making wooden crafts and spending time on my boat, which I am currently renovating.

I joined Avery Healthcare in July 2025 as Home Administrator, bringing many years of administrative experience across healthcare settings, including another care home and GP surgeries. This background has given me a strong understanding of compliance, organisation and the importance of efficient systems in delivering high-quality care.
In my role, I help to ensure that everything runs smoothly within the home whilst maintaining the highest standards of care and regulatory practice. I am passionate about building positive relationships with residents and their families, and I take pride in supporting a dedicated team that delivers compassionate, person-centred care. For me, it’s about creating a home where everyone feels respected, valued, and truly at ease.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, as well as watching films and reading.

My name is Sarah i am the well-being co-ordinator.
I have been within the care industry for 26 years, starting at 16 as a volunteer, I've supported residents with learning disabilities, challenging behaviours & the elderly.
I also spent 8 years working with children from birth to eleven as a registered childminder, then as a after school leader within a private nursery.
Some of my Qualifications include NVQ level 3 in care, A1/A2 assessor award, level 2 SEND diploma, a wide range of in-house training courses, first aid, dementia awareness, challenging behaviour, anger management, food hygiene, manual handling, health & Safety, and I also worked as an NVQ assessor within the NHS trust, mentoring staff.
My passion for care began from a young age, caring for my grandparents, which allowed them to stay at home together until they passed away, which was important to them.
I believe in treating others the way I would want my loved ones to be treated. I take my time to get to know each individual to understand their needs, how they communicate, and I allow time to ensure each person feels heard and valued.I love to bring residents, families, visitors and staff together, creating meaningful engagement and a warm, inclusive atmosphere.
My own experiences with pain and mobility challenges help me to empathise deeply with many of our residents. At home, I enjoy cooking, baking, knitting and watching rugby. I also have some pets –2 cats, 1 dog and 2 chickens.
My proudest achievement are my children.
