Pytchley Court Care Home

My impression of Pytchley Court Care Home is that most of the staff are kind and caring and that my mother looks and feels well cared for. She says the food is very nice. My view is that there are not sufficient staff or training to offer the standard of care the company claims such as "leading the way in dementia care". For me, too many of the residents are left to fall asleep in chairs and sometimes have to wait for enough staff to be able to take them to the toilet etc.

We as a Church visit Pytchley Court 3rd Wednesday of each month to deliver a short Church service, Hymns, Prayer and a short message. We are always very warmly welcomed by staff and residents. In my experience, most of the residents are happy and pleased to see us. We have a great relationship with the Activity Coordinator and have worked well with her over many years.

Now, a dear friend, in her mid-nineties is at Pytchley Court via several weeks in hospital, seriously ill. Within two weeks of going to Pytchlet Court, in a "bed-ridden" state and scarcely eating or drinking, my friend is up during the day in a chair. Eating much better, receiving visitors and thriving. Her hair looks lovely and all the staff I've met couldn't be kinder or more welcoming. It's a wonderful place.

When my husband first came into the home it was very hard for me. It was as though I had lost him but with the kind help of the staff and he has settled quite well and feels much better, I don't worry so much when I leave him. Thank you.

She sits in the dayroom and watches television and occasionally attends a short concert put on for the residents with appropriate vintage music. She tends to keep to herself and at the age of 92 this is unlikely to change, but I think the idea of residents being interviewed and a book of memories being kept is a good one and could benefit future generations. The staff are caring and respond to all her needs.

Medically they are very on the ball and well equipped to deal with a wide range of health issues.

My mother has only been in your care for a few weeks she has low blood pressure the staff are monitoring it regularly. I am very very happy that she is out of her bed and is sitting in the lounge instead of being confined to her room all day. The carers ask her how she is feeling and if there are any signs of her blood pressure dropping they take her back to bed. All staff are very friendly and approachable if any assistance is required. I feel confident that my mother is receiving the care that is required.

Very awkward eater so they do their best. Also not willing to go to the lounge to socialise.

I was given a warm welcome to entertainment on 2nd June. I watched so many small kindnesses done by many carers to the residents.

My father came here after a spell in hospital and his improvement during the first week was excellent, the staff are very caring and patient.
