Lawn Park Care Home

Mum came here from a hospice, Mum never wanted to go into a care home so it took a while for her to settle. She has a few favourite carers but all the staff are friendly and caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. As Mum is bedbound she relies on the staff more than most so a friendly face is most welcome.

This care home came recommended by a friend and I am so pleased I listened. The staff are wonderful, caring and professional. My mum was very happy there. The decor was in need of updating, and the room my mum was in was a bit small, but the staff made the difference. Highly recommended.

The care and devotion we received for my mum at Lawn Park Care Home was top class, nothing was too much trouble day or night. Excellent staff, nothing was too much for them, duty of care was excellent.

What a lovely service this home has. Each time I have visited I have been met with a smile making me feel welcome. More importantly, the staff are so kind and patient with the residents. They are clearly happy in their work and this has a positive impact on the quality of personal care. I truly believe that the management is most instrumental in making this a home where the staff seems to feel valued which results in such a high standard of care. Also impressed with the level of cleanliness.

The staff all go out of their way to entertain the residents, creating a lovely atmosphere.

Lawn Park is a lovely and friendly and cosy care home. The residents are looked after to the highest degree. Nothing is any trouble for the staff. The food is fantastic, guests are always asked if they would like a coffee, etc. Myself and my husband and mother-in-law considered ourselves very lucky to have my father-in-law in the best care home. Excellent.

Management, carers, and all other staff are all well-mannered, polite, and caring and all nurses make sure welfare of residents is first and foremost level of care and protection is outstanding. Nurses at top of their work at all times and always phoning and informing families! Doctors and social services and hospitals. Job well done 100%.

Since my aunty arrived here in June/July we are extremely happy with the change in her, my aunty is now able to sit and feed, have a conversation to her ability and can remember a family member's name. In general, she is back to the loving aunty we all know. Her hair, the colour of her skin, nails, teeth and feet are all 100%. Keep up the good work, excellent.

We as a family are very happy with the care and attention our mother is receiving at the care home. All the staff and care team are trying to look after our mother to the best, albeit under the difficult mindset of our mother at this time. We know you are doing your best for her.

Dad was a resident at Lawn Park Care Home from September 2018 to March 2023. He was extremely well looked after by everyone who worked there, especially throughout the Covid pandemic. We were always informed of any care issues and Dad's well-being throughout his residence. There is a homely feel to the place, with a warm atmosphere and welcoming approach from nurses and care assistants. Dad was always well groomed and smartly dressed in fresh, laundered clothes. He enjoyed the activities on offer, especially the 'sing-along songs'. The friendly staff always found time for a chat and a laugh during visits to Lawn Park.

This is an example of what all care homes should be like. All the staff were amazing, both to residents and visitors. The way the staff and the management presented themselves and the home made the last moments of life so much easier. What a wonderful care home that is an example of best practice! Thank you.

The standard of care that my grandpa received was outstanding. He was treated with such kindness and dignity at the end of his life and me and my family could not have asked for more. All of the staff were amazing and I would like to thank them all for their kindness.

Further to my review in September I felt compelled to write again about the care my dad received at Lawn Park. Dad was at the end of life care. The care from every member of staff gave him dignity and respect up to his final hours. The staff not only cared for my dad they cared for me and my family as we sat with him, especially in his last two days. Lawn Park is a family of staff and residents. It has been my privilege to be a small part of that family.

My father-in-law spent the last six weeks of his life as a resident at Lawn Park. It was a very successful move for him to receive end-of-life care in this environment. The staff were unfailingly supportive, caring and professional in all their duties. He was content to be there and appreciated the attractive surroundings. When his final days came, every care was taken to keep him comfortable and allow him to end his days in peace. My wife and I are very grateful that this was made possible.

All the staff were very caring and compassionate towards my father's needs through the last year of his life. We were always kept informed of any changes in his condition. The staff were empathetic and supportive to us at all times during his stay. I can't thank them enough for their kindness.

My mum has been in the care home for some months now and the level of care and attention has been exceptional but most of all, I was most impressed by a recent visit where I went to her room, only to hear voices behind the door and suspecting it was not appropriate to enter, I stood behind the door and waited. Unbeknown to me, the young carer was feeding my mum her lunch and so it took me a while to realise this. Listening to their ongoing conversation, I was hugely impressed by the way she addressed my mum; there was genuine warmth, care, sensitivity and above all, dignity in her voice. I was so impressed that I even took a moment to express this in a recent care review, which they were most pleased to hear.

On the day of the Queen's funeral, staff dressed residents in their "best clothes", curled the women's hair and the kitchen staff prepared bagels in lovely dishes. The residents were offered a choice of wine, beer and fruit drinks. In the sitting room, fresh fruit, biscuits, and a fruit drink are always available. Fresh flowers are in the sitting room and entrance hall. The home is spotlessly clean.
