Great home, feel lucky to have found this gem of a home. Staff are friendly and answer questions when asked. The home always welcoming and supportive through Covid changes that have taken place over the year. My grandma loves living here made friends and great staff.

My husband is currently a resident here, and he seems so settled. At a previous home where he had some respite, he wanted to leave, wouldn't eat and seemed unsettled, but at Melbourne House he's so much happier, eating, shaving, and the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
It really
makes a difference to know your family member is being looked after so well and attentively it puts your mind at ease.

Pleasing and welcoming environment. Good sized bedroom; homely. The staff are very friendly and professional and go out of their way to help. Nursing staff were exemplary during lockdown when I had to move my dad in from hospital.

My father has been a resident at Melbourne House Nursing Home for the last two and a half years since being diagnosed with Vascular Dementia. During this time, the management and staff have catered for his every need in a most caring and compassionate manner.
They have contacted me promptly in times
of urgent need and have also been able to provide staff and transport to accompany him to hospital appointments.
I would highly recommend Melbourne House Nursing Home to anyone looking for nursing care.

My ex-husband was fast-tracked here as he was ending his struggle with advanced cancers. Myself and my daughters were so relieved that he did not have to endure his final days at his home with only day carers (albeit they were excellent) and more recent support from Nottinghamshire Hospice, also excellent.
We were all so worried about those times when we were having to leave him alone for short periods. He also expressed that he felt lonely, and never really let on how worried and scared he must have felt. From the moment the care homeowner arrived at his flat, we felt comforted and supported. She managed to accept him to her home the very same day. When we accompanied him there, we immediately saw the genuine care and compassion being provided, both to him and the other residents. The nursing care and support from all staff was superb, as well as support for my daughters and myself, which was hugely appreciated. Aftercare was also excellent when he died. Thank you all so very very much.

My stepfather was admitted to this nursing home for end of life care. Sadly, he arrived on a Wednesday and passed away the following day. We were given a choice of rooms and contacted when he was transferred from hospital.
All staff members we met were very kind and sympathetic and we were able to
see him in the morning before he passed and again afterwards. When the staff contacted us to inform of his death, even though he was only really there overnight, staff all knew his name and treated him with dignity.

I honestly cannot fault the care and support my father received during his stay at this care home. The staff both management and nursing, could not do enough to ensure my father was comfortable and very well cared for, especially when he needed individual care the most.
I would highly recommend Melbourne
House to anyone who needs to ensure their loved one is cared for with love and dedication.

My friend has been at Melbourne for approximately 6 months. Myself and another friend visit every month and I must say the care is second to none. We are always made welcome and offered a drink. My friend is always clean and tidy and you can tell she is looked after well.

Mum was in the care home for ten months, during which time she was extremely well looked after and comfortable.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the care in her final days was excellent.
We were kept well informed when necessary of any changes or problems and I cannot speak highly
enough of the care she received during her stay.

I have been coming here for several years to begin with just visiting my mother but as I've got to know everyone, I also volunteer to do some art/craft work with my mum and the other residents. It has a lovely family atmosphere and everyone is made to feel welcome and valued. All of the staff do a great

Thrilled! Gran loves it here. We were worried about her going into care - we had no need. Care and meals are top notch. Activities are great. They are using the 'butterfly system' which Gran loves as she doesn't care for group activities. More homes should be adopting this method. The one to one time
is essential for people who don't want activities so really well done. Can't think of anything bad/negative to say. Thank you Melbourne House and Staff.

I've visited Melbourne now on a number if occasions as a good long term friend of mine is a resident. She's always happy and content. She is either eating or drinking when I get there. There's often an entertainer such as a choir or a singer on for the residents. They even have an art teacher who volunteers.
Highly recommend this facility.

Never had any issues to complain about I can express if things are not working right and are dealt with in discussions to an agreed outcome, overall my mother is happy here which makes me happy.
The staff are good at interacting with my mum and know what her needs are to make her comfortable according
to her disability requirements.

Alicja, a Registered Care Home manager, has 14 years of Intensive Care experience from her native Poland and is putting it to good use here at Melbourne House. She is welding her team together with her excellent ‘hands-on’ approach, enthusiasm and relationship skills, to develop the great reputation of Melbourne House.


Alicja loves being a nurse and despite the amount of administration that comes with the management role, she maintains her daily contact with residents and staff, to ensure she makes Melbourne House a Home, where all staff take responsibility, and improve service levels to offer high-quality care for the residents.
