On the first visit, before my sister went into Brookdale View, we were shown her room. It wasn't her room, she was moved the day she moved in. 11am and the bed is often not made. Lack of activities for dementia residents. On returning from a day out, three members of staff were sat alone outside, smoking, whilst residents in the lounge and back garden were alone. Whilst clothing was marked, a few items went missing, including my sister's hearing aids. On moving out, whilst staff told us on Friday, she was moving, on the Monday, staff were not aware. No medication was ready and all her clothes needed packing. One member of staff did offer to help.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. At Brookdale View Care Home, we aim to always provide the highest standards of care. We apologise you experienced some communication difficulties within the home, that the bed was on occasion...
As far as staff goes they cope with extremely difficult circumstances with a great sense of caring and compassion, but, when they flag things that need attention, be it lack of supplies i.e. for personal care, food - quality, taste, choice, lack of to feed the number of residents present, etc, heat/hot water, personal clothing or items that have not been returned from laundry, these are just a few. It is as though their words fall on deaf ears, no one is listening nor is anything done to rectify the situation. They do have a book that residents can write in, that is those capable which is again met with false promises of how it will improve, but, never does. When you look at the printed menu outside the dining room, your taste buds tingle with excitement about what food you will be eating. The only trouble is you don’t get what it says ever, more empty promises if you like weird combinations, bland, tasteless, small portions, good food ruined that you will eat otherwise you won’t.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are very sorry you are dissatisfied with the food within the home. We have taken on board your comments and the chef will continue to monitor and communicate with you about this matter....
While I have been coming here for two months, I have found the staff very good and helpful. I would advise anyone to stay here.
They did nothing to care for him, he was bedbound due to Parkinson's and other health issues. He could not feed himself and staff were not very helpful with this and when he became worse we had to phone an ambulance as they just wanted to call a doctor. My partner passed away shortly afterwards in hospital with sepsis.
I would not put a dog in this place as they don't care about nothing but profits.
Thank you for your review; we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We operate in an open transparent manner and encourage any concerns to be brought immediately to the attention of the Home Manager. We apologise for your poor experience at the home as we...
The staff on the nursing unit have been wonderful they are so kind and dedicated and always take time out to talk to my wife
We are able to visit now which is a bonus
Food seems OK and the home looks and smells very clean
My partner has been in Brookdale for a few weeks. Staff are so caring and go out of their way to help my partner. All the staff seem happy and to answer any questions that we have, I would definitely recommend this home if you are looking for somewhere for a loved one to stay.
To give a full review is a little difficult at this moment in time. I see my husband daily and he appears to be well looked after. The staff are attentive and caring, they keep me informed about his health, also his eating and drinking intake. I cannot comment on the food, during and activities as I am not allowed in the home due to Covid.
Very good.
I would like to say that I have been looked after very well and I could not ask for more. The staff are really lovey they go out of their way to make the experience good. God bless them all.
This care home is outstanding. Care is seen in everything that is done for the residents. The staff go to great lengths, nothing is too much trouble. The home is kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. I think they deserve great praise during this covid period of keeping their residents free of it and that has to be down to excellent management and staff willing to deal with such a difficult situation. I would recommend this care home to anyone who is looking for a home for a relative.
For me as I put care/support is satisfactory. I can find no fault I can not ask for better. These carers work very hard with the type of residents they have to deal with on a daily basis. I take my hat off to them it is not easy as they do their utmost to execute their work.
This is an excellent care home. All staff, from management and nurses and carers are extremely helpful, kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble and all needs are met. The room and facilities are all kept very clean. It has a homely atmosphere. The food is very good and I would recommend this home.
All staff at the home provide competent and effective care to both my gran and grandad. They attend to their needs and ensure a "home-like" environment is present. I will always be eternally grateful that they are providing the care I couldn't have at home on my own. Thank you for all you do.
After the night of the 10/10/2019, sleepless night. Staff collecting cups and saucer and residents shouting.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We hope you will accept our apology for the upset these concerns have caused you. We have recently employed a new chef at Brookdale View and regrettably we did experience some issues whilst she...
My mother was taken into Brookdale View. The staff could not have been better. They were wonderful to my Mum and my Father and the rest of our family. They are a great team, from the manager right through to the cleaners. My Mum could not have been treated better. My Mum died in the home and they were lovely with all of us on that awful day.
I find the staff very approachable, caring and interested in my Mum. I am very happy. I get told updates of when my Mum has been more independent, which appears to make staff happy. My Mum smiles a lot and appears settled and happy in herself.
Since my husband was nominated to Brookdale View Care Home, both my husband and I have been treated with both dignity, kindness and I am absolutely delighted with both the staff and the home. I cannot praise it highly enough.
My mum has received excellent care and support in Brookdale View. We cannot praise this facility enough. The staff are fantastic and caring and nothing is too much trouble.
I think this place is marvellous.
