My sister has been living here for the past 12 months. Since moving in, she has been well looked after, with some complex needs. The staff are brilliant with her. We visit every week at different times and different days, the staff work immensely hard and all staff make you feel welcome when you are visiting.
Polefield Nursing Home is a family-oriented run care home. The carers are very caring and the manger will always go above and beyond to make sure needs are met. Staff at Polefield are always visible and available. They all seem very caring. I’ve not been able to visit recently due to COVID but I have been able to see my mum using the iPad. Thank you Polefield for all you do, keep it up.
I see most of the staff as very nice and the management are great and try to help in every kind of way, even though I know my friend can be very challenging at times. The home also looked after her husband who had Parkinson’s who has now sadly passed away and as far as I know, they looked after him very well. The only negative thing I could say about the home is that they could do with more activities for the residents as I know they would benefit from this but the most thing I have noticed about my friend is that she always looks clean and well dressed, so thank you to all the staff for doing a good job.
My parents have been there for over 12 months now and my mum does not want to move. My mum is helped with her visits to hospital and my dad now has not been to hospital for a long time due to better care in the home. Generally, it is difficult to look after elderly people with so many different problems so no care home will be perfect. My mum has made friends in the home and is always encouraged to interact in the dining area. X-mas party is fun for them and staff are very helpful with any queries. With the number of residents, it is doing a good job.
My auntie has just spent 3 weeks in the home and can’t sing there praises enough especially one member of staff who went above and beyond in finding a chemist that had her cancer drug in stock and driving to pick it up personally and another who she says treated her more like family than a patient. A fantastic service that I would highly recommend to anyone. Well done and thank you to you all.
The staff ensure the home and patients are clean. Dignity is maintained at all times. Staff are friendly, welcoming, supportive, professional, caring and compassionate. They cared for my Gran at the end of her life. The carpets may have a few old stains on them but it's a lived in home which is hoovered a lot. I never noticed any fluff on the carpets. The manager said they are having a refurb in 2016. The residents all seem very happy. It's a mixed gender home and the residents even have a pet cat called Mr Polefield and a dog called Poppy. I was nervous about my Gran going into a home but I had nothing to be worried about. The home was more caring than I could of imagined. They truly look after the residents as if they were their own family. One resident told me she had lived there for 20 years. The only downside that I say is it's a steep uphill walk from Rochdale road but that can not be helped. Collectively our whole family was really happy with the care my Gran got here.
