My Mam Sheila has been a resident for almost 18 months and we are so happy she is there. All the staff from Caron at the front to the carers - Val, Adi, Juliet/Luwan, Sal the assistant manager, Ruksana her nurse are all absolutely brilliant. They care for her with dignity and are all so kind. I need
also mention the cleaning staff as they also care for her every day - Sharon, Nimo, James, Stuart & Christina & Dawn are wonderful. I'm sorry if I have missed anyone! You are all brilliant & we are so grateful to you every day! Thanks so much x

My brother Laurence became a resident in May 2025 and is very settled and happy at the home. The staff are excellent and extremely proactive if Laurence is unwell or not himself. The staff always keep me informed in person or by telephone. Karun is a star who works tirelessly for the home and is the
friendly front of house. All the staff are very friendly and we are happy for Laurence.

I chose this home for my mother following a period of intense illness where it was decided she could not live alone.
Since moving into Chorlton Place, her general health has improved, her mental health has been better, and she's made friends with other residents and staff!
Everyone seems to genuinely
care for her health and wellbeing, and the staff are always happy and smiling, joking with the residents while still being respectful and considerate of their individual needs. I
can highly recommend this location for care and dignity.

My mother was admitted to Charlton Place on 24th December 2024. She was on end of life care. The staff were welcoming, kind, caring and understanding from the start. Her room was bright and comfortable, which we enhanced with some of her own possessions. She wasn't eating but the staff still tried to
encourage small amounts of food and drink. They remained positive up to her passing on the 9th January 2025. I am so grateful to everyone at the home.

My mother in law was left to die without dignity in great agitation, groaning, writhing in her bed crying out, all for her children to witness, including granddaughter and family friend. I found out that prior to her death, she has been in an agitated state for more than 2 weeks. After all her hard
earned money was spent on poor care, she died in the most undignified way, showing to me the staff here have no idea of end of life or even empathy.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Chorlton Place Care HomeThank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We apologise for the family's experience during the final days of your mother-in-law's life and that our expected standards fell short. The staff are lovely and look after my dad very well. He is happy here. He likes the food. He likes going in the garden for a smoke with two staff members in particular. They both look after him and know his needs, and notice how he is each day. All the staff are brilliant too.

My mother has recently moved into Chorlton Place Care Home and she is like a new women.
Before arriving, she had given up on life and had nothing to look forward too, is bed bound. Even having a conversation was difficult, she wouldn't eat or try to eat.
She is now eating although little and the
lovely carers hoist her out of bed so she can join what she calls 'the girls' for breakfast. She's had a shower and played Bingo.
The staff have booked her in with the hairdresser.
We have since had fantastic conversations with her and she is content.
Thank you to all the staff so far! We are looking forward to hearing what my mother joins in with next.

After a successful 2 and a half years of Mum living at Chorlton Place we sadly lost Mum, up until her final moment the staff went above and beyond to fulfil her needs. Mum was challenging at times but the staff never gave up with her, even at the end we were looked after as a family with nothing more
than pure dignity.

Mum has settled at Chorlton Place. She enjoys her food here. The room is warm and comfortable. She enjoys the banter with the staff. She does complain to us there are not a lot of activities for her? She does enjoy listening to music here though.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.294)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.294) out of 10 for Chorlton Place Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.319 for Chorlton Place Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (157 Excellents x 5) + (49 Goods x 4) + (19 Satisfactorys x 3) + (10 Poors x 2) + (13 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 248 Ratings = 4.319
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chorlton Place Care Home is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
