Katie is the most approachable manager, I've ever dealt with, nothing is too much trouble and she is always available to help and reassure, so too are all of the staff, I can see they all genuinely care for my dad and that in itself is so comforting to me and my family.
The place is clean and welcoming and the food is absolutely amazing, I love how you get offered to eat with your loved one if you are there at meal times, just another thing that makes you feel it's like home from home.
My dad is a type one diabetic who has 4 injections every day, the staff help him with these every day, and his blood sugar levels have never been better. Another level of care which I feel is above and beyond.
Thankyou so much for your kind words. I will make sure this is passed onto the team
The carers go above and beyond every day, not only looking after his physical needs but also taking the time to get to know him personally. Their compassion, patience and dedication have given our family complete peace of mind, knowing that he is in safe and caring hands.
The home is always clean, welcoming and well-maintained and there is a lovely atmosphere throughout. The staff are approachable, supportive and keep family members informed, which is greatly appreciated. It is clear that everyone at Longwood Lodge genuinely cares about the wellbeing and happiness of the residents. Seeing how happy and well looked after my grandad is means the world to us.
I would highly recommend Longwood Lodge Care Home.
Thankyou so much for these lovely words. We are so happy that you feel this way
Following my dad suffering a fall at home I started for the 1st time to look at Care Homes. I spoke to a number of Managers. Then Katie at Longwood Lodge contacted me. I knew instantly that I had 'found' the place for my dad. I met Katie in person and 1 week later my dad was settled in at Longwood. I cannot speak highly enough of Katie and her committed team. They have been immense in all areas and always 'available' and proactive. I wholeheartedly recommend Katie and Longwood Lodge. Just Brilliant.
Thankyou for such kind words. I will ensure this is passed over to the team.
We are very grateful to all the staff and are reassured mum is safe and well looked after which gives us peace of mind.
Thank you for your kind words. I will share this feedback with staff.
Longwood brought the sparkle back to our Mum at a time when she had lost confidence and felt isolated at home. All the activities were just what she needed! If there's a reason to have a celebration they will do, Mum always eager to join in! Residents and families alike always have a voice, deciding on new things to do or new foods to try for eg. But above all is the care, support, laughter and love that the whole team give each and every day, looking after residents and families alike. They know each and every resident so well and this shines through. The care and support that our Mum and us all as a family have received means the world and we can never thank them enough for allowing us to be a son and daughter again, spending such lovely quality time with our precious Mum and being able to laugh with her and enjoy so many happy moments again. We're so glad that we were lucky enough to find Longwood Lodge and that our Mum and us could become part of such a wonderful and warm family.

From a warm welcome to regular updates and personal attention to care, I have always felt reassured that my mum is in "the right place" and that there is no need to worry as all communication links are readily available if/when needed.
At times, I have noticed the Team go above and beyond to meet the needs of residents, inparticular when meeting specific dietary needs to appease ongoing demands and requests from residents (or requests from wider family members).

I have been a resident at Longwood lodge for nearly a year now. Everything I have experienced is excellent, the staff, manager, are amazing. I still have my independence and this is valuable to me. My daughter lives across the world and her knowing I'm so well cared for and happy gives her reassurance. Moving into Longwood has been the best decision I have made. I'm extremely happy here and could not be better looked after. This is my home

After being very independent for most of her life, my 103yr old mum decided it was time for her to be moved to a residential home. After viewing many homes in the Oldham area, upon viewing Longwood, my brother and myself decided on Longwood. From the moment we stepped inside, the general relaxed and comfortable atmosphere was plain to see and the feeling of content was very easily visible. The Manager and her assistant came across as very adept during our introduction to Longwood. Since arriving in late May, I have had a huge weight taken of my shoulders knowing that my mum is extremely happy in a super, caring place , with staff around her showing love and patience for the residents. I've never seen her eat as much as she is such a fussy eater. That's saying something, as my mum has never drank tea, coffee or milk. My compliments to the managers and staff. You are brilliant. Thank you.

My mother was a resident at Longwood lodge from July 2024 until she passed away on 10th April 2025. Myself and my brother would like say what wonderful care she received being treated with respect and dignity. The Manager was brilliant who kept us up to date every day with mum's general well-being. The staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them and they communicated well with relatives. We couldn't have asked for a better place for our mum to be cared for in the last months of her life.

After various hospital admissions, it was decided my dad could no longer manage living alone so I had to look for a suitable care home. On arriving at Longwood lodge I was greeted by friendly happy caring staff who showed us a large room which was exactly what we needed for him. It has been a year since he was admitted, well what can I say the management team and staff can't do enough for him. The manager goes above and beyond for the residents and families alike nothing is too much trouble for all parties concerned. I would have no hesitation in recommending Longwood Lodge to anyone who is considering a place for their loved ones.

Mum was in Longwood from June 2022 until her recent passing. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, every request was granted wherever possible, with kindness and patience. I am happy to echo the other comments on the many 5-star reviews.

My mother has been a resident at Longwood for 2 and a half years. I feel so lucky that a place was found for her at a very traumatic time. She was admitted for respite but I knew that she would not be coming back to her home. She is cared for wonderfully by all the staff. The home is welcoming, clean and there is lots going on to keep the residents entertained. The manager is always approachable and is one the most caring people I have met.
Thank you for your kind words, this will be passed on to the staff team.
All the staff know my father well and take the time to talk to him and even held a fantastic party for his 92nd birthday!
The manager is always available and cannot do enough for you.
The residents are all happy and welcoming and it has a lovely homely feel to it.
We are so pleased we found it.

The manager and her team looked after my mum with such kindness and professionalism, the care Mum was given was fantastic, the staff were always so thoughtful and helpful, I think Mum was very lucky to spend six weeks recuperating from a fall at Longwood Lodge. The manager is a wonderful hands-on manager. I can’t recommend this home highly enough. Would like to thank all the staff for looking after my mum, it means a lot to me. Big thank you.

My mum went in there not in a good place. She has now put weight on has more energy and helps out with Jobs which she loves doing as she previously worked in care.
6 Star Please if possible

All the residents are treated with the greatest respect and kindness by all the staff. Their warmth and professionalism are evident from the moment you arrive. Since moving in, mum has never looked so happy and settled. She has received the most wonderful care and individual attention I could have wished for and the staff’s unfailing empathy and patience is truly amazing.
Rooms are kept spotlessly clean, clothes are always freshly laundered and there’s always a variety of nutritious food each day. There are also plenty of regular activities for the residents (singing, music and films) and always some special occasion to celebrate to make them feel at home. The management/communication between relatives is outstanding.
Longwood Lodge Care Home is a real asset to the local community. I couldn't have wished for a better place for Mum to spend her final years.
Thank you for your kind words this will be passed onto the team.
