Broughton House provides compassionate nursing, residential, dementia and respite care to veterans and their families.

The home was designed solely for the purpose of providing an enriching, rewarding and safe environment where residents can thrive.

Offering a fulfilling and varied wellbeing programme, there is always something for residents to enjoy, whether it be in the spacious homely lounges, Veterans’ Mess/bar, beautiful garden or on a trip outside of the home.

There is a wide range of services and facilities for residents to ensure that they live life to the fullest while under the Broughton House team's care. These include: inhouse physiotherapy, chiropody, a purpose-built gym and a hair salon.

Each resident has their own modern, en-suite bedrooms.

The dedicated care team endeavours to provide a comfortable and stimulating environment. Residents receive support to embrace a life that rich and enjoyable for not only themselves but their families as well.

You are eligible for Broughton House if you have served in His Majesty's Armed Forces, the Merchant Navy, a Reserve Force or were conscripted for National Service. Alternatively, you are also eligible if you are a family member/spouse of any of the beforementioned.

We may be able to accept NHS continuing healthcare funding for people with severe or complex health needs, subject to agreeing our fees with the relevant NHS Clinical Commission Group. NHS teams will undertake regular assessments of your needs to determine whether you qualify for this type of funding.

My dad went into Broughton House Care Home on respite when my sister went on holiday. He settled so well, so quickly he stayed there. His independence increased, his contribution was valued and sought and he went on all the trips. The household care staff there made him feel like he was family. The
night staff were especially good company for him as they would share stories about Africa where Dad had lived in his younger years and so enjoyed it. They all made him feel like he was their relative and he had great friends amongst the other residents and relatives. It was very fitting and important to us that when he was diagnosed with incurable blood cancer, that the nurses made sure he was not in any pain or distress and the kindness of the care staff went up a gear. Neither me or my sister were there when he actually passed away but it was fitting that the night team, who he thought the world of, were there with him. It's a fabulous place with an incredible care philosophy.

Uncle has been a resident since April this year. The welcome we get here is that the staff were dedicated, very genuine, who all enjoyed their roles caring for the residents. Uncle's room is small comfortable and modern which he prefers. Shower and toilet are ideal. Uncle enjoys his showers. Food I'm
told is OK, fish and chips and Saturday breakfast are his favourites. Uncle joins in all the activities and trips out, Wednesday church is his favourite. His hair and feet are well-maintained and do the laundry daily. Residents are kept motivated with visits from Salford Red Devils on the fire cadets from Bolton this month. All this gives those at home Peace of Mind.

My father went into Broughton House for 6 weeks while I went into hospital for hip surgery. After a week he decided he was so happy he decided he wanted to stay permanently. Two years later he is still very settled. The staff are excellent. No complaints at all.

Visiting a friend I was so impressed by the home. Friendly caring staff, and modern, clean and well maintained premises. Staff checked in regularly on me and my friend and nothing too much trouble. It was a pleasure to spend time there and it gave me great reassurance about the care my friend is receiving.

My wife and I visit my father twice a week and each time we go the staff are always cheerful, smiling and extremely helpful. We are extremely satisfied with the care and attention my father receives and would not hesitate to recommend Broughton House to anyone. More important than our feelings are that

From the first visit, the help and welcome was unbelievable The reception staff are fantastic. The management team couldn't do enough to help with paperwork, finance etc. We as a family absolutely love this place, especially the encouragement they give Dad is amazing, Thank you.

I volunteered at Broughton House with my team from work. We helped put up Christmas decorations, chatted to residents and organised games. We met several members of the team who were all incredible and the residents were clearly happy, comfortable and extremely well looked after. The staff really do
care. They knew all of the residents names, spent time talking to them and made sure their needs were met.
The facility itself is incredibly impressive. Modern, comfortable and clean with every facility available. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Broughton House to any family looking for care. If and when I'm ever in the position of needing such care for my family members, Broughton House will be high on my list. A wonderful place.

My husband moved in August 2022 and he seems happy there. Being ex-para I think he enjoys attending ceremonies and dressing up in the lovely care home jacket and tie. He enjoys the other paras there.
The staff are very friendly and show all the residents respect and courtesy. They are very helpful
especially when I turn up unexpectedly and the staff get him up and ready for my visit. I like the exercises in the morning and believe that in time he will be able to walk a little faster and regain his lost fitness in the pandemic.
The garden is a nice place to walk around, get some fresh air and have a picnic weather permitting.
The only drawback for me is a longer trip for visiting, hence only 1 weekly visit.
But I am happy for him, it is a good choice of home.

We have been extremely pleased with the help and support from all staff: nursing, care, wellbeing, chefs, support workers and the admin and management teams too. Everyone has pulled together to help my dad settle into his new home at Broughton. As a family, we have peace of mind, that transitioning
from his home of 60 plus years, to respite and now permanent resident, has been a relatively easy process and we are pleased Dad has settled into his new environment and seems to be thriving, at last. Thank you to all the staff, for their continuing support with our dad.

She seems fine, is very well looked after and the staff are lovely. We feel happy with her care. The home is very well appointed and beautifully clean. It is great that there is a well-kept garden for the residents to sit out in the sun.

It has taken so much stress away knowing that Mum is at Broughton House. I am also ex-military and love how military milestones occasion's and anniversaries are remembered at the home. My mum is treated with respect and cared for as if she was being looked after by family members. Mum has an extended
family in each and everyone around her. My only suggestion would be for the family members to receive a book of who is who to contact in the home for various queries.

We were really lucky to get my dad in Broughton House - Veteran Care Village: all of the family agreed that, as his dementia progressed beyond the point of being able to stay at home, this is where he would want to be. The renovation work that has been carried out has made it even better - it's a lovely
environment. The staff have a fantastic rapport with residents and are especially good with Dad. It can be really difficult when you have to make a decision about residential care on someone else's behalf but knowing how well Dad is being cared for and seeing the staff interact with him when we visit is so reassuring - I know Broughton House was the right choice.

My dad has lived here since January. The care is excellent. There is a good range of activities. The rooms are very comfortable with an ensuite shower room. There is a lovely garden, which is under continuous development.

We are very happy and satisfied with Broughton House. The care Mum receives is second to none. Everyone is kind and treats her with respect. Her room is lovely and she has all her photographs around her. She seems very contented there. Also, she feels safe and that is very important to us as her family.
The facilities, including the garden, are excellent. Also, her medical issues are kept a close eye on. All said, very happy.

I have nothing but praise for Broughton House. From the moment I went in, I felt the warmth and welcoming atmosphere from the reception staff. Broughton House is immaculately clean. My husband settled in well, and this was due to the staff. They are so caring, helpful and kind. The support they give
my husband is second to none. They spent time with him and give him the attention he needs. The food is varied and nutritious. The staff go out of their way to cater for the needs of the service user. I myself have been unwell and needed open heart surgery. The stress levels I had felt were lifted from my shoulders when my husband was admitted to Broughton House.

My late father was a resident for three years and my wife is a current resident. Broughton House care is exemplary. Caregivers genuinely care for residents. They are kind, understanding patient and compassionate. The care home is professionally managed and nursing care is second to none! Potential residents
