My gran was recently a resident in this home. Unfortunately, she had moved here during COVID times and had given up her home as she needed the care.
I found the communication minimal considering we weren't allowed in to see her. I thought this would have been much better. We were constantly on the phone asking questions and made out like we were pestering when we just wanted to know how she was. We were always told she was 'fine' though she told us completely different.
Strict visiting rules during the week with LFT test and PPE then at a weekend no one bothered? Never consistent.

Unfortunately, my Gran is no longer with us, and was disappointed by the care she received much lower level than we were expecting, looking at the Unity website with some of their key messages transparent and attention to detail, this is not something we saw. On collecting her belongings either missing or ripped - no care at all.

Overall, I find this care home adequate for the needs of my mother. I did however find that her bedroom was basic with no toilet facilities except for a commode. I did find some incidents of clothing going missing, which was daily reported to the management, which they dealt with. Although I have recently been allowed to see my mother via a glad partition, I am still not completely allowed to see her because of Covid restrictions. I find that the staff are generally looking after Mum to do the best of their ability. The management is always on hand should I have an issue to raise.

The Willows residence is such an amazing place for my mum to go for respite. The staff are amazing, and nothing is to much trouble. When Mum goes there for a break, she feels they are like family to her and me. I feel relaxed and know she will receive the best of care. They have lots of activities to help Mum feel motivated and involved. The management and her staff are second to none. They helped me with this transition as anyone caring for a person with Alzheimer's will be aware of the stress involved. Thank you to The Willows and all the staff.

I am fortunate enough to live within walking distance of the home, so I can usually see my father as often as I like. Someone will always answer the door, any time, day or night. His room and bathroom are ample in size, and we are able to decorate to his liking to keep it as comfortable as possible.

Currently, due to heavy COVID restrictions, I have been unable to see him in person. I can't describe how comforting it is to know he is safe and warm and well looked after. He has had no disruption to his day or routine, and it is equally comforting to know he is not stressed by the current situation. I have been able to book "FaceTime" appointments whenever possible, and the team are always present and able to help him access the iPad or the phone. Similarly, I have been able to drop off any things I buy for him, so I know he is not missing out on his favourite treats.

I get regular updates from their Facebook page, too. It's a massive help.

My mum went into this care home and to me, it's the worse thing had to do in my life, I went around looking at various care homes 20+. I found that this care home was the best one I looked at, the minute I went in, it felt so homely, the staff warm and friendly. As my mum has been there a few months now I have realized the staff and manager go above and beyond expectations of a care home. The food is brilliant, the rooms are kept clean and are a decent size, there is always things to do for the residents with the staff, for example with the problem with covid we can't go in and the staff take it on themselves to entertain the residents. I appreciate everything they do and the commitment they all make to the residents. Five out of five stars or 10/10 can't recommend this place enough for their passion to look after all their residents. It doesn't feel like a care home it feels more like a retirement home, and me and my family are so grateful for all who work there. Thank you to everyone.

My lovely uncle needed to move to a nursing home after a period of illness which impacted upon his ability to self care. Myself and sister did our research and visited several nursing homes. The Willows stood out as the best. The manager was and still is understanding and proactive. My uncle is happy and well cared for. The staff are kind and caring, not only to my uncle but to us as a family.

The staff do a difficult job, they have to deal with unexpected situations but stay calm and spread their love equally to all residents. The Willows is clean, the food looks amazing. They ensure residents are happy. I've sat there for hours and I've not seen a resident ignored. The Willows is a happy and enabling enviroment .

I would like to say I couldn’t recommend this care home enough, their care through our difficult time has been exceptional. The staff are absolutely fantastic and the manager couldn’t do enough and even after the loss, they are still supporting us.

Mum came here from another home she was very frail not eaten for 2 months and given up on life. After a week here with the patience and dedicated help from the carers who sit and spoon feed her to make sure she is eating and look after all her care needs with dignity and compassion, she is back to her happy self chatting, watching tv, living life to the full again and her appetite has come back. She tells me the food is very good and that she feels loved and cared for by all the staff at The Willows and that she is very happy there. I am so happy I chose The Willows and I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone as you will not be disappointed, I can now go home knowing mum is safe and being well cared for. I would like to thank all the staff at The Willows for looking after mum so well, also the manager I find to be very approachable and very good if you have any worries or concerns just go and see her and it is dealt with right away. The lady who greets you on entry is a joy.

The lady in charge of this care home is not the manageress but should be. She is a presence in the home unlike some who hide in the office. It is a friendly place and the people working there are very committed staff. The home has an occupational therapy lady who everyone loves and everyone makes the residents feel at home. If I were to have a criticism of the home it would be the lack of staff. I feel they are very understaffed which in turn relates to the amount of quality care that can be administered to each individual. Having said that, as stretched as they are, everyone gets looked after including the residents family and friends. I have visited some homes over the last year and this is one that seems to come out on top. It's not perfect due to the lack of staff but I would stay here myself.

The Willows is a very caring and nice atmosphere. The carers always go the extra mile to help the residents from what I have seen when I visit. All the staff are very nice and welcoming and activities are provided to the residents by the activities coordinator. We especially enjoyed the singing and karaoke sessions. My friend has been a resident at The Willows for a few months now and I am very happy with the service provided. The home also always smells clean and fresh which you don't always find in these places!

Thank you again all the staff at The Willows!

The Willows are very well run from the management down to all the staff. The staff are all very friendly, hardworking and very good at their jobs. The residents are all treated with the same top standard of care. The home is well maintained and kept very clean and tidy. Also, the food is of a very good standard.

Previously I was a district nurse who visited The Willows and other homes. Ahen my Brother left hospital I picked The Willows for him. I was impressed with the care and cleanliness there. Also, this was some years ago, teaching residents how to use computers etc. The standards have never changed and when we visit he is always clean, as is his room, and he is allowed to do his own thing, which he is capable of, go to him whenever, play his records, watch his own TV, whatever. The Willows was a great choice for him.

I have visited a number of care homes over the years where friends were living. I was impressed with the cheerfulness of staff, their attention to residents and their willingness to relate to them.

There was plenty of room and no congestion. The surrounding inside and outside were well cared for and managed.

My wife has been resident at The Willows for thirteen years. I have always found management to be accessible to discuss any problem that occurred. There is good maintenance of equipment and the rooms are kept clean. I could not wish for better care for my wife.

From the day my mother went into The Willows, she could not have had better treatment.
Even though my mum was very frail, the staff were fantastic with her, even to doing her nails.
Unfortunately, my mum wasn’t able to feed herself, but the staff sat patiently with her and gave her her meals.
When my mum’s health deteriorated they rang me to go through and explained everything to me about how poorly she was.
As my mum became very poorly and not able eat, drink or talk to us, they allowed all of her family to sit with her, bringing us tea, biscuits and even sandwiches and toast when we stayed overnight.

The care my mother had right up until her death, was superb and not enough praise is given to the wonderful staff who really did everything and went the “extra mile” into making my mum’s last days as peaceful and pain-free as they possibly could. They were so caring, thank you so much for everything.

All staff do work well together. All residents are looked after and kept clean. I do feel they could do more and interact and get the residents a bit more active, by light exercise, dancing and singing a little. Some light games with colours and dated items that they used to remember.

Many thanks for all the hard work for the residents.
