The staff are really friendly and helpful, nothing's too much trouble. During Covid-19 they never failed to keep us informed by phone to put our minds at ease and reassure us that our loved ones were ok.

My lovely uncle needed to move to a nursing home after a period of illness which impacted upon his ability to self care. Myself and sister did our research and visited several nursing homes. The Willows stood out as the best. The manager was and still is understanding and proactive. My uncle is happy
and well cared for. The staff are kind and caring, not only to my uncle but to us as a family.
The staff do a difficult job, they have to deal with unexpected situations but stay calm and spread their love equally to all residents. The Willows is clean, the food looks amazing. They ensure residents are happy. I've sat there for hours and I've not seen a resident ignored. The Willows is a happy and enabling enviroment .

I would like to say I couldn’t recommend this care home enough, their care through our difficult time has been exceptional. The staff are absolutely fantastic and the manager couldn’t do enough and even after the loss, they are still supporting us.

Mum came here from another home she was very frail not eaten for 2 months and given up on life. After a week here with the patience and dedicated help from the carers who sit and spoon feed her to make sure she is eating and look after all her care needs with dignity and compassion, she is back to her
happy self chatting, watching tv, living life to the full again and her appetite has come back. She tells me the food is very good and that she feels loved and cared for by all the staff at The Willows and that she is very happy there. I am so happy I chose The Willows and I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone as you will not be disappointed, I can now go home knowing mum is safe and being well cared for. I would like to thank all the staff at The Willows for looking after mum so well, also the manager I find to be very approachable and very good if you have any worries or concerns just go and see her and it is dealt with right away. The lady who greets you on entry is a joy.

The lady in charge of this care home is not the manageress but should be. She is a presence in the home unlike some who hide in the office. It is a friendly place and the people working there are very committed staff. The home has an occupational therapy lady who everyone loves and everyone makes the
residents feel at home. If I were to have a criticism of the home it would be the lack of staff. I feel they are very understaffed which in turn relates to the amount of quality care that can be administered to each individual. Having said that, as stretched as they are, everyone gets looked after including the residents family and friends. I have visited some homes over the last year and this is one that seems to come out on top. It's not perfect due to the lack of staff but I would stay here myself.

The Willows is a very caring and nice atmosphere. The carers always go the extra mile to help the residents from what I have seen when I visit. All the staff are very nice and welcoming and activities are provided to the residents by the activities coordinator. We especially enjoyed the singing and
karaoke sessions. My friend has been a resident at The Willows for a few months now and I am very happy with the service provided. The home also always smells clean and fresh which you don't always find in these places!
Thank you again all the staff at The Willows!

The Willows are very well run from the management down to all the staff. The staff are all very friendly, hardworking and very good at their jobs. The residents are all treated with the same top standard of care. The home is well maintained and kept very clean and tidy. Also, the food is of a very good
standard.

Previously I was a district nurse who visited The Willows and other homes. Ahen my Brother left hospital I picked The Willows for him. I was impressed with the care and cleanliness there. Also, this was some years ago, teaching residents how to use computers etc. The standards have never changed and
when we visit he is always clean, as is his room, and he is allowed to do his own thing, which he is capable of, go to him whenever, play his records, watch his own TV, whatever. The Willows was a great choice for him.

I have visited a number of care homes over the years where friends were living. I was impressed with the cheerfulness of staff, their attention to residents and their willingness to relate to them.

There was plenty of room and no congestion. The surrounding inside and outside were well cared for

and managed.

My wife has been resident at The Willows for thirteen years. I have always found management to be accessible to discuss any problem that occurred. There is good maintenance of equipment and the rooms are kept clean. I could not wish for better care for my wife.

A very good care home, clean and lovely.
I have no problems with the home. Staff are willing to help you.
My main concern is that my husband is very settled. He's happy so I'm happy.

From the day my mother went into The Willows, she could not have had better treatment.
Even though my mum was very frail, the staff were fantastic with her, even to doing her nails.
Unfortunately, my mum wasn’t able to feed herself, but the staff sat patiently with her and gave her her meals.
When
my mum’s health deteriorated they rang me to go through and explained everything to me about how poorly she was.
As my mum became very poorly and not able eat, drink or talk to us, they allowed all of her family to sit with her, bringing us tea, biscuits and even sandwiches and toast when we stayed overnight.
The care my mother had right up until her death, was superb and not enough praise is given to the wonderful staff who really did everything and went the “extra mile” into making my mum’s last days as peaceful and pain-free as they possibly could. They were so caring, thank you so much for everything.
Reply from Jagjit Sandher, Operations Director at The Willows Care HomeThank you for your kind words Kathryn. Our staff were more than happy to help and were glad you and your family got to spend time with your mother. We are very sad for your loss and thank you for allowing us to care for your mother.

All staff do work well together. All residents are looked after and kept clean. I do feel they could do more and interact and get the residents a bit more active, by light exercise, dancing and singing a little. Some light games with colours and dated items that they used to remember.

Many thanks

for all the hard work for the residents.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.833)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.833) out of 10 for The Willows Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.883 for The Willows Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (188 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 213 Ratings = 4.883
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Willows Care Home is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
