The premiere ‘Beeches Suite’ offers luxury hotel-style accommodation for elderly ladies and gentlemen who are currently living independently, but would like the added peace of mind that their care needs can be supported discretely. Staff seem to care. They respond to any requests I put forward. The nurse is accessible and on the ball. The furnishings are fine. Even the temp student staff are lovely.

Whilst my mum was at Newlands Nursing Care Home she received very good care and most carers treated her with respect and looked after her well.
She was only there a short while but was treated well.

As a family, we are extremely pleased with the ongoing care for our aunt at Newlands Nursing Care Home. She has been a resident for around 2 and a half years now and is extremely well cared for.


The home keeps us informed of any changes and contact us periodically to ask us about how we feel about

the level of care for our aunt. We are safe in the knowledge that aunty is definitely in the best place. Thank you to all the staff and carers who do a fantastic job.

My father spent the last year of his life at Newlands. The manager, admin staff and care staff made us so welcome when we visited. Dad received excellent care from the nursing staff and care workers, who always treated him kindly and respected his dignity. In the last few months, as his health deteriorated
further, they made great efforts to talk to him reassuringly and to make changing his dressings and position as pain free as possible. The nurse made sure that medication and pain relief were reviewed regularly. We visited nearly every day, at different times of the day, and never saw or heard any resident being treated other than with kindness and respect.
The rooms are a good size and nicely decorated. The food is very good. A variety of activities is on offer, and families get a regular chance to meet the manager. My family would recommend Newlands to anyone who is making the difficult decision about a care home for their loved one.

My mother was a resident at Newlands for two years, during that time my mother received excellent care at Newlands, I was most impressed by how the staff took the time to get to know my mother. I personally was most impressed by how hard working the staff are and how they looked after my mother. When
my mother passed away many of the staff from Newlands attended her funeral and I expressed my sincere thanks to the staff and introduced the staff as my mother’s second family. It is never an easy decision to place one's loved one in a care home but I’m sure that the decision to place my mother in Newlands was the correct decision and that she received the best possible care in the last years of her life. I will always remember the care and compassion given to me by not only all staff at Newlands but especially the one staff member who stayed with my mother when she died and remained at work long after her shift had finished meeting me at the door and comforting me in my time of loss.

The Care our relative has received is nothing more than disgraceful. He had 4 falls which we were supposed to be advised about and we weren't. We arrived one night to see him shirtless and sat on his own. The home is in a disgusting state and I have images to share.

My mother has become very settled and happy at Newlands Nursing Care Home. My mother has been a resident at Newlands Nursing Care Home for three years. The staff are friendly and helpful. They work hard to get to know residents and treat them with respect. Residents are seen as individuals and care
is provided in a dignified way. Although the home provides residential and nursing care, the emphasis is on a homely environment and atmosphere. Any concerns we have had have been dealt with by discussion with the management team and resolved quickly. The newly refurbished communal areas are lovely.

So far I have only positive things to say about Newlands Nursing Care Home, my grandma's care home. The friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff are always on hand to help and treat her with care and respect. Her room is cleaned regularly and bathroom. She seems to be happy and well cared for and the
food is nice and home cooked. She hasn't been there long and is on the high dependency floor so is just in her own room and interact with other residents at the minute.

My mother has been in Newlands since February 2016. After being in a hospital for four months and incontinent. We were overjoyed that the day after moving in she was fully dressed and happily sat in the lounge, from that day we have had nothing but satisfaction with mums care. The staff are very friendly
and approachable and to see how mums face lights up when she sees them speaks volumes.
I was horrified to read the late CQC report and think there is a little too quoted on paperwork.

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Melissa has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives.


She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Melissa closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Melissa remarked: “I love to see the people we care for happy, and knowing that the team look forward to coming to work.”


Melissa has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievement being having her two children. She wants to show them a good example of being in a job she loves, whilst being the best mum she can be.


Outside of work, Melissa enjoys going out for walks with her dog and her children. She also loves music and believes it is good for the soul.
