Our mum was transferred to Newlands from Stepping Hill hospital for assessment to see if she could return to her own care home. Sadly mum's health had deteriorated and it was determined that she was end of life and palliative care was started. My sisters and I were so grateful for the care, dedication and warmth shown to our mum and ourselves by the whole team. From the nurses to the healthcare and housekeeping team and management, everyone was lovely, nothing was too much trouble and it brought us and our mum dignity and comfort at such a difficult time. Thank you to the wonderful team.
My mam was put on palliative care at stepping hill hospital so we needed to find her a suitable care home .We viewed newlands as they had a room available from the first contact we were impressed the room was clean and bright very spacious with an ensuite. The staff were amazing, caring and very considerate.Everyone was very professional and made sure my mam was very well cared for.The support they shown us as a family was very much appreciated, nothing was too much I'm so glad we chose newlands for my mam's final stay.
I don't need to mention names because everyone there was lovely to him and kind and respectful and looked after him so well. I rang a couple of times and he always sounded so happy and content and he can't wait to go back again. If he rates this care home 10/10 then it really is 10/10!
Newlands is a welcoming warm environment for the residence who live there and also for any family member or visitors. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the turnover of staff it's very low so for my mother this is a massive bonus, that she has continuity familiarity and trust in the stack that Care for her daily. This all gives me peace of mind in knowing my mum is safe happy and looked after from my point of view Newlands offer excellent care support and love to all its residence.
Overall I would rate as good. Nice home with friendly staff on the whole. Experienced some issues and management has responded positively. Rooms are small and most don't allow in much light. Often my mum has had items of clothing and other items gone missing which never appear to be returned. My mother enjoys the food in the main but it is quite repetitive at times. The rooms are modern on the Beaches suite but less so on other floors.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Hearing about families' and residents' experiences is incredibly important to us, as it helps us continually improve the support we provide. I'm also pleased to hear that you feel our management team responds positively, and we truly...
Overall I am very happy with the care my mum is receiving. At first I was very apprehensive due to a couple of bad experiences at an intermittent care home I had to get the right feel that my mum was safe and this is what Newlands does.
Management, Nurses & Care team are approachable and do take on board the needs of your family along with a very organised and helpful Administration and Maintenance team.
Meals, I have taken in food that my mum enjoys and have seen this with other residents. I imagine it's hard to please everyone on their food preferences though.
Cannot fault the entertainment team, spot on!
The standard of the accommodation (room 310) and the friendly & efficient care & attention were very much appreciated.
My mum was a newlands for 18months before her passing. All I can say they have been amazing everything from her care to helping her move rooms and due to oxygean machince the room she was in was way to hot. The staff are amazing and treated my mum like a queen nothing to much. To be honest she felt like they were family .she was on palatine care and I can honestly they gave me more time with my mum because of the care and when she got put on end of life care they allowed me to stay with her all the time and even arranged for me to have a area to have showers. All I can say is thank you so much to all the managers and staff you made my mums final month's enjoyable and to be honest I will miss visit newlands x
Generally, I am very happy with everything related to mum's care, nice home, nice atmosphere and pleasant ppl.
All staff are friendly, happy and helpful.
Both my parents moved into Newlands in July 2024, when my Dad required nursing care and my Mum required residential care. This is a big moment for any family and due to Dad's sudden decline in his health, not a step we were necessarily expecting to happen this year. As was expected, my Dad's health continued to decline and he soon needed end-of-life care. The nurses and carers were so wonderful with both our Dad and our Mum. The care our Dad received was absolutely fantastic, he was cared for in such a dignified, warm and professional way and we as a family always felt listened to and supported at what was such a horrible time. I have to say it wasn't just the nurses and carers, all the staff were so kind to us and for that we will be always so grateful. Dad passed away in November at Newlands, beautifully cared for in his final peaceful days. My Mum is staying on as a resident and we are so pleased she can stay. I can't recommend Newlands more highly. Thank you Newlands.
We'd like to take a moment to thank you for leaving such a wonderful review of our home. We are pleased to hear you were very happy with the quality of care your dad received and mum still receives at Newlands Care Home, kindness is at the heart of everything we do. Kind words like these are...
I am writing this review with a heavy heart, as my father recently passed away after spending the past 12 months on the "Beeches Unit" at Newlands Care Home. It's difficult to put into words the gratitude and appreciation we as a family feel for the wonderful staff who cared for him especially during his final days. From the moment we made the difficult decision to transition Dad into care, the staff at Newlands became like family to us. They provided not only exceptional care but also warmth and compassion that eased the burden of our decision. In his final days, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that Dad was comfortable and surrounded by love. They patiently explained the process leading up to his passing, providing us with the support we needed to navigate this challenging time. Their dedication ensured that he had a dignified and peaceful death, surrounded by his family- an experience we will cherish forever. Thank you for everything.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a positive review of our home. We are pleased you were very happy with the quality of care your father received In the Beeches unit at Newlands, kindness is at the heart of everything we do. We will ensure your kind words are shared with the team....

Care: Kept clean and any treatment necessary attended to promptly. Sometimes left too long in a wheelchair causing discomfort.
Room: Awkward and pokey. Have asked to be informed of vacant rooms but this has not happened.
Food: Unappetising.

We are sorry you have had cause to raise concern and have written to you formally to respond to each area of concern raised. Newlands is a lovely residential, nursing and care home for the elderly with complicated needs and other needs. The staff go out of their way to make sure the service users and family are well cared for whether emotional welfare concerns and food, drinks etc. are bought regularly for your refreshment. Newlands had great activities for the residents to enjoy ie: weekly entertainers for service users to enjoy. Highly recommended.
The staff here are always happy to help, are always jolly and have a laugh and joke with Dad, which he likes. He seems happy here and has settled in well. Many thanks to everyone at Newlands Care Home.
My uncle came to Newlands after being told he needed to be moved very quickly. Newlands had my uncle a bed within a day of requesting and when we got there they were completely ready for him no messing. The ongoing care they provide my uncle is second to none they know him well and they know us as a family. The nurses and carers are more than happy to update you on your loved one and even the manager is always available should you want to speak to her, we are extremely happy as a family and it is such a reassurance to know that the people looking after your loved one know them personally, their likes their dislikes the staff even check when the football is on and put it on for my uncle. The care home is also always very clean and inviting and there is always a smiling face in reception! From the bottom of our hearts we send a massive thank you to all at Newlands.

After almost four years of excellent care by the staff on Beeches. Last July, Mum arrived at the end of her life. Through excellent collaboration between the staff, GP surgery, district nurses and family, Mum was able to avoid being admitted to hospital and able to stay in her own bed at what had become her home. During the final week of her life, both she and the wider family were looked after with love and professionalism by the wonderful staff. Nothing was too much trouble and we all felt cared for by the whole team; from unit managers and carers to cleaners and admin staff there was a genuine concern for the well-being of everyone connected to Mum.
Daughter
Our Mum was discharged from hospital to Newlands December 16th. Prior to her discharge we were invited to visit the home, meet the staff, also a full tour and what takes place day to day. It was such a warm welcome and very inviting from the onset, the residents all looked so happy in their environment. Also the staff from admin to carers, nursing staff and maintenance. Our mum has settled well and making good progress both in health and well being, nothing is too much to ask or request of any of the staff. We as a family are more than pleased with this very well led care home, it's not just a myth it is home from home, we look forward to going to visit our mum now, we actually had the chance to choose a bedroom of our liking that Mum would be comfortable in, was made very welcoming on her arrival, her pictures and ornaments placed where we requested. Christmas and new year celebrations was truly lovely, all residents dressed looking happy, also the staff happily joining in their Christmas outfits.
Mum's nursing and care needs were consistently assessed and fulfilled, she was so happy and settled here.
Unfortunately, she deteriorated in December and needed palliative care, once again all care and nursing needs were delivered with compassion and dignity both day and night and the manager and her wonderful “team” run a very tight ship with a great open-door policy, and I will always be in their debt for this and thank them from a very heavy and broken heart.
