Mum's nursing and care needs were consistently assessed and fulfilled, she was so happy and settled here.
Unfortunately, she deteriorated in December and needed palliative care, once again all care and nursing needs were delivered with compassion and dignity both day and night and the manager and her wonderful “team” run a very tight ship with a great open-door policy, and I will always be in their debt for this and thank them from a very heavy and broken heart.
Found the home to be very well run.
Everyone here are attentive and caring.
Feel very fortunate to be here at Newlands.
My husband and I visited a friend for the first time today. He has been in Newlands for about 10 weeks and has settled down well. He looks so much better and is not as breathless when talking. We felt it was the best move he’s made. The home is very welcoming when you enter, warm and cosy feeling. The decor is very pleasant to the eye. I liked the idea of a lounge and dining room on each floor, giving it a more friendly atmosphere. We were very impressed at the activities laid on each week. There is enough going on to keep everyone happy.
Great, attentive, friendly staff.
In my mum's words, "It's like a five-star hotel".
She couldn't be happier with her life at Newlands.
Always helpful.
Lots of activities to keep entertained.
Staff lovely and helpful.
Always activities going on.
Sister is getting the best care possible.
I am happy with the support she has been given.
I would recommend this home to everyone.
Very friendly, kind and helpful staff.
Our mum couldn't be happier. Whatever time of day we visit, everything is exactly the same. Staff are kind, caring and really lovely with us and my mum. We couldn't wish for a better place for our Mum. She is very happy.
Nice staff.
She enjoys it here.
Food is very good.
Staff very attentive.
My aunt has been here since December 2021 and is given the utmost care.
Very friendly care home and staff.
When Mum first moved into Newlands we had a lot of teething problems and some more serious safeguarding issues which were reported. Things have settled down now and the vast majority of the staff are very kind and caring. Sometimes it feels to still be a bit short staffed though ie first thing in the morning. My mum's main complaint though is the food, the menu is quite uninteresting and the food is badly cooked.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We would like to apologise for the initial issues experienced when your Mother was admitted to the home; we are pleased these are now resolved. Regarding staffing levels, we use a robust...
I can’t speak too highly of Newlands and it's staff.
My mum has lived at Newlands Care Home for nearly 4 years. She has consistently been treated with great kindness and respect. Her room is kept beautifully clean and the laundry service is amazing. The dining room is light and airy and a lovely range of food is always offered. The carers are almost always the regular staff who know Mum well and she knows and trusts them. The floor manager is superb and Mum’s care (even, and especially, when she has been under the weather) is full of kindness and compassion. The manager and admin staff are always there to help when needed. I’m very pleased that we chose Newlands for Mum.
When asked for personal care for Mum, this is done within 10 minutes - no long waits.
Mum is clean and looked after.
I feel confident that she is cared for excellently.
My wife was recently in hospital and I really appreciated a courtesy call from them to see how I was coping. Thanks.
Newlands staff were wonderful with my mother-in-law and always very welcoming to the family when we visited. They kept us informed and always listened to us and took on board what we said. Loads to do for residents. Highly recommended.
I am pleased with the care that mum receives in Newlands. She would like to be able to walk a little more but other than that everything is fine.
Generally pleasant if slightly sterile environment. Caring & responsive staff. Night staff seem stretched at times. Rooms and facilities are well appointed. The safety of residents is treated as paramount. Team leaders are visible and coordinate staff well. Culturally responsive but could do better for minority ethnic residents in terms of food and religious needs. Night and day staff could rotate for better continuity. Could do with better access for relatives to get into the building and frustratingly to get out of the building. I often have waited 5 minutes or more to be let in or out.
Please accept my apologies for your experience, I really appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention, allowing us opportunity to improve.
I am more than happy to meet with you, at a time that is convenient, to discuss your...
