Nestled within the the peaceful residential area of Heaton Moor, just outside Stockport, Newlands care home offers personalised residential and nursing care to older people.

Inside, this lovely, purpose-built home offers a choice of four sitting rooms and four dining areas, all with specially designed furnishings for maximum comfort. There is also a hobby room, hairdressing salon, treatment room and a delightful family room.

The premiere ‘Beeches Suite’ offers luxury hotel-style accommodation for elderly ladies and gentlemen who are currently living independently, but would like the added peace of mind that their care needs can be supported discretely. The 'Beeches Suite' has been luxuriously developed by a professional interior design team to meet the needs of the most discerning residents.

My Mum was recently admitted to Newlands and I can't sing the praises of all staff that we have had contact with.
All have been helpful, caring and compassionate and extremely understanding.
I feel reassured that our Mum will and is getting the best possible care.

The resident is well cared for and looked after however she has advised us her TV hasn't worked for months and she is cold at night as there has been no quilt on her bed for a couple of years. It is hard on the family with limited contact due to Covid, but we understand the rules.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to make improvements where required. We would like to apologise for any upset this may have caused. The bedroom has been reviewed and we have ensured the TV is in working order; the aerial needed retuning and is now working effectively and our resident is enjoying watching the television in her bedroom. The bedroom radiators have also been checked; the room is warm and our resident has a duvet and blankets too. We appreciate the restrictions on visiting is difficult due to the local lockdown. We have several tablets in the home whereby we can facilitate video calls with loved ones and we encourage all families to book in with our Wellbeing Coordinator to maintain family relationships and lift spirits. We continue to work alongside the local council and Public Health of England and will update you further with our visiting options.

My friend has been in Newlands for 2 years and has had excellent care. The staff are always welcoming and friendly when we visit. During the Covid 19 pandemic, I have been kept up to date with my friend.

We looked at a lot of care homes but knew instantly that this is the one where we had wanted Mum to live. It had been a difficult conversation with Mum, but the staff made this her home, and she was very happy there. They welcomed all the family, and we felt comfortable to approach staff if needed.
Any decisions on Mum's care was made jointly with family.
Mum had a good friendship with her carers and nursing staff. Mum's face would light up when she saw her carers; which I felt spoke volumes. They all knew her very well and were able to identify if she was becoming unwell or just not her usual self. The staff were caring, friendly and very efficient.
It was not an easy decision to move our Mum to Newlands Care Home, but I know it was the best decision. The care and friendship she received from staff made it possible for us to move from her carers to just being family.
I would like to thank the staff who cared for our Mum, for making the time she had with you a happy time.

This is a warm, welcoming, caring home with much to offer. The facilities are top-notch, the food is excellent and the carers are all very friendly and caring. There are activities organised for residents every weekday morning and afternoon to stimulate them mentally and physically. It has rescued my
mum from a point where she was spiralling downwards quickly and we are so glad we found it.

My mum came to Newlands for respite care for one week after a minor fall. She had deteriorated in health since my dad died last May and unfortunately sustained a previous leg injury. Mum took a few days to adjust but I really saw a difference, she ate very well - the food is excellent, and made some
friends. Her leg was dressed regularly. She relaxed and I had peace of mind - a big thank you to the kind carers who looked after her.

My dad received the best care myself and my brother and sister could have hoped for. He was treated with care, attention and respect. The staff also made us feel completely at home there when visiting and that no query or request was a problem. It’s set in a lovely area of Manchester with plenty of
shops nearby. The building and the rooms were lovely and cosy. I highly recommend this care home.

A lovely Care home. My dad is happy and all his needs catered for. It is hard to have a loved one in care but the staff here are so kind caring and responsive. I work in the NHS myself and know the challenges of the roles these staff have. Just want to say a big well done to you all. Keep it up.

I felt at home in Newlands, and because of the hotel like accommodation I felt on holiday too. The best of both worlds effectively. I found the staff caring, professional, and happy to help. My father was a resident at Newlands Care Home in Stockport for approximately six months up until his death in May 2019. The care he received there was exemplary - particularly from one on the Beaches suite. His last days were extremely difficult and everything was done to make him as comfortable as
possible. The staff were excellent, both in their care of my father and their support for the family. Thank you.

I booked in for postoperative convalescence for the reassurance of having trained staff on hand 24/7 and not to have to do any cooking and my stay at Newlands perfectly fulfilled both objectives. The staff were all very helpful and the accommodation was luxurious I have already recommended it to my

My experience on transfer from hospital has been most pleasant.

Having left hospital after a hip replacement operation, I was in need of some TLC. The staff were all most welcoming on my arrival and during my short stay of one week. The staff have made my mother very comfortable during her stay at Newlands Care Home all, without exception, are very caring and attend to her every need.
Whenever she has problems there is always someone of the staff to look after her.

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Melissa has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives.


She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Melissa closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Melissa remarked: “I love to see the people we care for happy, and knowing that the team look forward to coming to work.”


Melissa has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievement being having her two children. She wants to show them a good example of being in a job she loves, whilst being the best mum she can be.


Outside of work, Melissa enjoys going out for walks with her dog and her children. She also loves music and believes it is good for the soul.
