When my mum became suddenly ill with an unexplained illness, the care teams immediately stepped up her level of care which has continued as she recovered only gently easing off extra help and encouraging her to get active again.

When it became clear that Mum had to move into residential care, we looked around several local facilities and rapidly identified Ladybrook Manor as by far the most desirable. There is such a great deal to commend: its relaxed and becalmed atmosphere (closer to a luxury hotel than a care home); the
very high quality of the facilities and amenities, such as the sumptuous (not standard-issue) food served in the dining room; the discernible personal touch of the staff, who quickly get to know the residents and their needs as well as the family members and friends who visit them; the tangible sense of community which is always convivial and kindly. We particularly appreciate the staff's literacy in the specific needs of their residents: they work hard to recognise and support the individuality of those in their care and engage with them accordingly. Nothing is too much trouble. As a family, we feel lucky indeed that Mum can now fully enjoy her senior years having moved to Ladybrook.

This is, indeed, a posh hotel as others have mentioned, but it's more than that. The staff are wonderful. When you get older, you tend to get more cranky. I certainly will be, I feel that I'll have earned it! But the staff put up with everything cheerfully, and diligently and they cater for your loved
ones' needs. My mum has to have all the food pureed now, and the kitchen staff come up with some lovely meals. Medications are carefully managed. There's a nice little bistro area when you come in, for friends and families to help themselves to complimentary drinks and snacks etc. Activities are many and varied, but they also cater for someone like my Mum who doesn't want to leave her room any more. Staff will pop in and join her in a jigsaw! Very impressed. It's hugely expensive, but it's the nicest care home I've ever been to, and my job has been the management of sheltered housing all my life, so I have some idea what we've got here. This is a lovely place if you can afford it.

My relative took residence at Ladybrook Manor in February 2023. We anticipated a few teething problems with her initially as one would expect. However, within hours she was totally adjusted to her new surroundings, no doubt with some assistance from the very able staff.
She likens Ladybrook to 'a
posh hotel.'
On visiting we find everyone friendly and helpful. Everywhere is clean and very tidy. Friends and other relatives who visit all make similar comments.
My cousin has taken on a new lease of life and says that she would never want to go home again. Great testimony indeed.

I am a regular visitor to Ladybrook Manor (Mon-Fri). The staff are kind, caring, approachable, friendly and extremely lovely, whether it's the care team, the receptionist, the housekeepers, kitchen staff, maintenance and management. The gentleman who I visit is treated with kindness, consideration and
dignity. Ladybrook doesn't feel or look like other care homes I've visited and is more homely. The staff also make me feel very welcome and included in decisions relating to my friend. Any minor issues (very few!) I've had with Ladybrook have been resolved immediately and professionally. I also experienced recently how Ladybrook Manor dealt with a resident who had passed away; this was done in an extremely respectful manner, which brought tears to my eyes and touched me so much! As sad as it was, equally it was very lovely. I would highly recommend Ladybrook Manor (I would live here myself!) A beautiful care home with a beautiful caring staff!

Mum was placed in two previous homes before Ladybrook Manor. Both were unsuccessful. She was a bigger challenge when she arrived at Ladybrook but they treated her as a person not a liability. The amazing staff make sure she is happy, motivated and part of a family. Mum has received care and attention
from day one and now she is much more settled. There are a range of activities to enjoy and the food is fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend Ladybrook Manor to anyone who is considering placing a loved one in care whether it be residential or dementia, it’s a lovely place to be.

My mum has been at Ladybrook since July 2021 and I feel she really is part of the 'Ladybrook Manor family'. All the staff are friendly and helpful and it is good that there is not a large turnover. We have been able to get to know everyone - reception staff, household, catering, carers, activities and
management. All play an important part in making the care at Ladybrook Manor work.

Our Mum moved into Ladybrook Manor Care Home in May 2022 after our father passed away suddenly. Mum had no time to prepare for such a move and therefore it was important for us all that Mum received the care and support needed to settle and get used to this huge change in her life. She has settled at
Ladybrook Manor. The staff are approachable and nothing is too much trouble. Mum has become used to her lovely surroundings and familiar friendly faces. She particularly enjoys meal times and says the food is lovely! Thank you Ladybrook Manor, you certainly helped us through a difficult few months.

Cannot recommend Ladybrook Manor in Bramhall highly enough.
Lovely surroundings and atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is delicious, and Mum is well looked after.
She is a new resident but is settling in well. There is a large choice
of activities that she can join in; her favourites to date are the exercise class and hymns around the piano, there are weekly outings, and you can always stop for a cuppa and cake.
The family are exceptionally pleased with how she is being cared for, and we no longer have to worry about the safety of our mum!
Thank you.

My previous experience with care homes was somewhat "patchy", to put it diplomatically. When my father needed respite care, following a stay in hospital, from which he was discharged far too early, Ladybrook Manor really "jumped into action" to assist despite being in the middle of a Covid Lockdown.
They found a truly splendid room and made what can be a most stressful situation for all concerned, really easy. An almost seamless transfer from his home, in which my father had lived since 1969, to care home. After a month's respite, we all decided that my father would be much better cared for and supported at Ladybrook as a resident. Each time I visit, I'm taken aback by the splendid facilities, relaxed atmosphere and, most importantly of all, the attentiveness of the staff. Unlike other care homes I've visited, the staff seem to have much more time to spend with residents, know their charges well and contact me straightaway if ever there are any issues. My father is in very good hands.

My mother was a resident for five years living in the Assisted Living and latterly Reminiscence. She passed away on July 13th 2022.
Her care from the outset was outstanding and when more able she partook in many of the activities provided.
When medical issues arose, as I had POA, the staff always
rang me and we came to decisions together regarding what was best for her care.
In later months when she needed more care the staff were fantastic and towards the end when I visited daily I felt the staff were not only carers but family friends.
As a family we wanted the best care we could get for mum and I am happy to say that we think that's what Ladybrook Manor provided.
It was a difficult time for care homes during Covid and although at times, quite understandably, visits were suspended, when things allowed visits were back on again with suitable testing before visits.

I would recommend Ladybrook Manor to anyone looking for quality care for a loved friend or relative

Often short of carers, therefore, have to wait for assistance.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, PA to Marketing Director at Ladybrook ManorThank you for taking the time to submit your review – we take all feedback very seriously and will always do our best to improve where we can. Having spoken to you since, we understand that you’re referring to the time it sometimes takes other residents to get to an activity if they require assistance, meaning that on occasion some activities have started a little late as we wait for everyone that wants to take part. Of course, some residents do have more need of help than others, and we also want to make sure that no one feels rushed or unable to take part - this can affect the schedule from time-to-time, but we will always endeavour to start on time when we can. To reassure you and anyone that may read the review, we always make sure we have good numbers of team members working so the home is safe for all residents, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are also currently recruiting for a fourth activity team member, which will allow us to run even more varied and fun activities for all, which I hope you will enjoy.

Mum joined Sunrise Feb 21 following the death of my father and Covid, all within the same week. Sunrise has welcomed Mum and our family, and she has settled in amazingly well. She often comments on how nice the food is and that it is like being in a hotel. There are lots of activities, day trips and
entertainment available for residents, which they can choose to be involved in. Sometimes, due to low staff numbers, there can be a delay before staff respond to a 'button call', which is a concern. Staff are pleasant and polite, and senior staff are approachable with any concerns you may have. Their response, particularly from GM, is honest and transparent and has always been professional and proactive. Healthcare and medically, Sunrise continue to support Mum's ongoing care plan and usually communicate changes or concerns, but I have had to chase up a couple of times. This is our first experience of the care sector, and during very difficult times, but overall, we are happy with Sunrise.

From the initial enquiry stage to my mother becoming a resident for respite care, the service has been first class.
Everybody has been most caring throughout her stay at Sunrise and I couldn’t have asked for anything more from the carers to the managers and the receptionist they are all first-class
Thank

My father has just returned home after spending five weeks in Sunrise Bramhall. We were made to feel so welcome by the managers and staff, and have been very happy with the care he has received during these last few weeks. I have been allowed to visit him after being tested for Covid, and as he was
in isolation for the first two weeks of his stay, these visits were so important to him. He had a lovely room, with a balcony overlooking the garden, and this was kept spotlessly clean throughout. As for the meals, he thoroughly enjoyed his lovely bowls of soup and the desserts but felt the main course was a little less appetising. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in caring for Dad, and special thanks to the Deputy Manager and Director of Community Relations who went the extra mile to ensure dad enjoyed his stay and that I was happy with the care he received.

My mother has been a resident of Sunrise of Bramhall for over six and a half years. The care she has received through this time has been exceptional. All the staff work very hard to get to know each of the residents and understand their needs. The whole team, from the welcome given by the concierges,
to the carers, the housekeeping staff, the dining room staff and the activity volunteers all play a vital role in making the community a safe and comfortable place for each of the residents.
Over the last difficult year, it has been a great comfort to know that my mother is safe, but also that there are staff who will spend time chatting to her, engaging her in things that are of interest to her and most important of all providing her with an opportunity to smile and laugh each day.

My mother has been a resident at Sunrise Care Home in Bramhall for the last two and a half years. She joined the community at a time when she was unable to manage her day to day life in her own home. She was welcomed from the start by a friendly, caring staff. Though they have at all times respected
her dignity, her desire for independence where possible and sense of self-worth, they have done all they can to meet her needs. Everyone from the kitchen and housekeeping staff to her carers has treated her with kindness. She regards the staff as her friends, as well as her helpers. As a frequent visitor to the home prior to the Covid outbreak last year, I have always been made welcome by friendly staff. During the epidemic, the home has done all it could to keep residents and staff safe and for this we thank them. As a family, we are kept well informed of any developments/changes within the home and this has been reassuring for us, knowing that my mother has been safe.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.604)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.604) out of 10 for Ladybrook Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.604 for Ladybrook Manor is calculated as follows: ( (171 Excellents x 5) + (69 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 255 Ratings = 4.604
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ladybrook Manor is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 99 registered maximum number of service users is 19.8, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
