I visit my sister practically every day and have done for the last year and a half. During that period I have been very impressed with the staff and the care provided. I would definitely recommend Sunrise to anyone.

At first appearance, Sunrise of Bramhall seems an ideal place for ageing loved ones. However, the consistent changing of staff concerns me. There is a lack of response to requests for assistance from the residents and requests for action from family members seem to be ignored by staff and management.

Sunrise is a lovely place, it has very friendly and helpful staff. It's clean and airy and has a nice relaxed atmosphere. Food is also delicious, we even had a family buffet there on Sunday which was organised very well.

My wife came into residence in the reminiscence section at the beginning of June 2016.
From the warm welcome, she was shown exemplary care and consideration from the dedicated staff. Suffering from dementia she was to benefit from the particularly friendly treatment from all the teams of carers.
In
the later months of her stay, her condition showed a marked deterioration.
This prompted the staff to keep her under closer observation and attention - right up to her last hours and final passing on May 4th, 2017.

This is a very friendly care home. Relatives and friends are made very welcome. My husband needs 24hour nursing care, the standard of which is very good. The carers are lovely - nothing is too much trouble. The concierge are very helpful, efficient and friendly. Friends who have, through their employment,
visited quite a few care homes, have commented on how good this one is. The activities are very good, my husband enjoys the food and overall I am very pleased that he is a resident here.

My mother has been at Sunrise for 2.5yrs. During this time she has experienced 'ups and downs' in her care. Mostly I have been satisfied that she was getting satisfactory care. However, during the last year, my concerns have grown about my mother's well-being. Her care needs have changed somewhat and
I felt these were not always being met. My particular concerns were the extensive use of agency staff who were unaware of/unable to deal with individual needs; and the middle and overall management. The CQC inspection report was published in May (inspection January 2017) and this confirmed all my concerns. I am aware that in recent weeks great efforts have been made to carry out improvements in all areas and am pleased with the changes that are evident in my mother's care and indeed in the general atmosphere in Sunrise. I believe and hope that a stable management team, now in place, will continue to effect positive changes. I am completing the questionnaire in this positive frame of mind.

All staff we have encoutered at Sunrise have been incredibly helpful. My mother has settled in much more quickly than we expected and all the staff seem to know who she is and why she is there and to have a good relationship with her.
Whenever we are visiting we are always made to feel welcome and
staff are always on hand to answer questions.

I spent nearly 3 months in Sunrise, Bramhall from 7/7/16 to 1/10/16 after leaving hospital with a full-length plaster as a result of breaking my leg. I was very impressed when I arrived, by the warmth of welcome, my beautiful room and bathroom, the food and the unfailing kindness of the carers. After
they had provided me with a wheelchair with leg extension so that I could manoeuvre myself I did not need a great deal of care but was constantly aware of how others less fortunate were treated by the staff at all levels. Their patience, understanding and gentleness were outstanding. I would have no hesitation in returning to Bramhall, Sunrise if I ever need more care.

My mum suffered a broken knee and was in need of somewhere to stay while she recovered. After a 2 week stay in another place where she was unhappy, we found a space for her here. It is an amazing place, more like a luxury hotel than a care home. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and my mum is
really enjoying her stay. She has been on lots of outings and involved in many activities. I would certainly recommend Sunrise of Bramhall to anyone.

My mother who is 92 has recently gone into Sunrise in Bramhall for respite care and I can't believe the change in her already after less than a week. When she went in she was very depressed, sleeping all the time and had a poor appetite. In less than a week she is a different person her appetite has
returned, the food is fantastic. She has started to take an interest in life again. The staff are brilliant and run the place like a 4 star hotel with the very best care. Always helpful and happy. They provide so much entertainment and trips out which make the residents feel alive. Everyone who I have met in there praises the place and she has made many friends already. There are knitting clubs, art classes, exercise classes, cookery classes and many more daily activities you could never feel lonely. There are trips out to shops and Cheshire villages, in fact 3 next week. Sunrise is a happy place which is something I don't normally associate with a care home.

The main difficulty is when my mother presses the call button and she feels there is no response for a very long time. Also she is naturally rather meek and when asked if she needs help for dressing she is inclined to respond that it is alright as she knows the staff are busy. The impression is that
she can cope, but she really wants help. Mostly though everything is lovely and the staff are so kind and appreciate it.

My mum was a resident at Bramhall Sunrise for a couple of years. During this time her health deteriorated until eventually she needed nursing care prior to her passing away. The staff at the home were fabulous from the time she went in until the end, the whole family were supported and treated as if
we were all part of an extended family at the home. Staff truly cared and always went the extra mile to help not just my mum but any of the people who lived there. It was a home from home. Mum chose a room when she first went in and she was able to stay in the same room till the end. I know that this may not seem like much, but I have had friends who were upset because their relative had to move from one room to another when their needs changed from personal care to nursing care because of the way the things were registered. It meant a lot for her to stay in her home.
The care staff are correctly titled - they do care. Staff are always smiling and positive even when they are working hard. The nurses are unbelievable and have extensive knowledge, especially when making sure that people at the end of their life are comfortable and looked after.
There have been a few changes over the last year in the management team and the staff have shown a remarkable amount of dedication in continuing with their care whilst undergoing changes in the team which must have been stressful for them at times. These changes have never affected the way in which they care or taken the smile off their faces.
Everyone is now starting to see the result of the changes in the home and the management changes which have occurred. Staff have said to me how much they feel listened to and how much better their roles are. The staffing numbers have increased dramatically over the last few months and this has allowed staff to spend a lot of time with not only my mum but all the other residents as well.
All the management in the home have an open door and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff.
The food is great and it is served in the dining room which is like a restaurant - it does make people feel special. At the end my mum could not leave her room and needed special food. Staff made this for her every day and brought it up to her room, eventually they needed to help her eat. It was never any trouble and they took the time she needed to have as much as she wanted to eat.
I have had experience of other homes when going with friends to see their relatives and whilst I am sure they do a good job, it is nothing in comparison to the service that my mum has had at Sunrise. I cannot praise the staff enough for their care and devotion to my mum and my family during difficult times. I would definitely recommend this home to anybody.

I have worked in the care sector since the 1990s, and I started at Ladybrook Manor in March 2020, as the Assisted Living Coordinator, and have worked alongside some amazing team members here. In 2022 I was made General Manager for Ladybrook Manor and feel privileged to have gained this role.


I am committed to delivering the highest standard of care to residents and fulfilling their lives and wishes, in their twilight years. My door is always open, so please come along and see me.
