When we had to put our dad into a Carehome over 12 months ago I like many other people who have to do this wasn't happy at all , as nowhere is good enough for your family as you want to do as much as you can . Once we got dad settled and he was bonding with the staff you realise how hard these people work , the staff were fantastic with him and everyone there . There was a lot of improvements to the building going on and still are more needed like everywhere but overall I think my dad was happy and liked all the staff there at the Carehome he would eat well especially Fridays with it being pudding chips peas and gravy day . If any improvements I would say for an outside area for fresh air or conservatory for residents to sit in the sunshine .

My relative has been at Moss Cottage since February 2026. Arriving after a move from a healthcare unit in poor health. It's been a long road but with the correct support from the home and staff, my relative has improved massively. The staff generally all specialise in something albeit wound care, companionship, dementia. Between them they have delivered excellent care. We visit daily so have a good understanding of how everything works and see everyday interactions. The home has a good relationship with the residents and also the healthcare professionals and services so all outcomes are delivered professionally with care. It's clean, the food is a great standard and they have an activities coordinator for planned crafts and entertainment. I highly recommend this home. The transition and outcomes have been excellent.

My husband is in the care home. When you have a concern it is dealt with by the manager immediately. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The manager has made so much improvement over the last two months. She is approachable and willing to give the time.

The door is always open just walk in and she will listen to your concerns. I make's a huge effort to get it sorted. Nothing is too much trouble

My Mum moved into Moss Cottage in March 2026 following a couple of months in hospital after a number of falls whilst living in her previous residential home.
Mum is 97 this year, so the change has been a little overwhelming, but she has eventually settled & that is down to the staff, they all go above and beyond to care for Mum.
Mum comments how nice the staff are on a regular basis when they walk past us in the Lounge.
The food is brilliant, Mum is on a pureed diet due to a stroke last year but still manages to have a variety of different meals/desserts/snacks.

My only negative comment would be the lack of daily activities - the previous home Mum was in had a weekly timetable visible showing a morning and afternoon activity being held each day - this is missed.

** Keep up the great care Moss Cottage **

My mum has now been at Moss Cottage for 1.5 years nearly. She is extremely well cared for. All her needs are met. She is very well liked and the staff genuinely speak of her in a loving way. She had skin problems when she went in but her skin is very well hygienically looked after. She is always lovely and clean. The staff work so hard. The staff are a lovely bunch of ladies and gents. The new manager has made improvements to how building looks both externally and internally. Fresh table settings, flowers outside, making it more welcoming. The home isn't a very modern building, but it is kept very clean, and things are slowly being replaced and repaired to make it fresher and brighter. Overall a very trustworthy place for your loved ones to be. I wouldn't want my mum anywhere else. The cooks, the carers, lovely receptionist, new manager everyone who works there, do their very best to love and care for the residents. Problems resolved as soon as they appear if necessary. Mums content.

My Grandfather has recently moved into Moss Cottage for end of life care. They have been really friendly and helpful and accommodating. I has only been a few weeks so far and it's over the Summer Holidays, so I can't in my opinion give a full service review, but on the whole the care has been good. The food is great and I was particularly impressed with the homemade chicken soup the other day!

My stepfather recently passed away after being in Moss Cottage for three weeks.
He received Palliative care and then end of life care.
The staff and care that I saw at the home was outstanding and professional.

Although the home appears a little tired you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover and I cannot praise the home enough for the care and dignity that my stepfather received.

My brother moved to Moss Cottage about a year ago and the experience has been very satisfactory to date. He is eating and drinking much better than previously in my opinion. The carers who are effectively his social life are attentive, entertaining and painstaking and I'm grateful for that. The nursing care is adequately monitoring his state and have on several occasions moved him to hospital when his health gave grounds for concern so overall I am very satisfied.

My mother was a resident at Moss Cottage for 9 weeks and she received palliative care during this time. The staff's care was personal to us and second to none. They treated her with dignity, compassion, care and love. The day of her passing was without a doubt very traumatic for my family and the support and love we received will never be forgotten. From start to finish, they could not do enough. When the ambulance came to take our mother away, they all stood in line and gave their respect to her. Myself and my family will never forget the care she received. With fondest love and regards to all the staff.

The care was good, the food always looked good and was always presented lovely and hot despite my husband being on a pureed diet. I joked it was like Masterchef. The entertainment looked good from what I saw my husband didn't really participate (his choice) as he was happy in his room watching TV.

All staff from what I witnessed and overheard genuinely cared about the residents. The Laundry was washed well. I did have a couple of things go missing but I guess in a home it's to be expected occasionally due to the quantity of washing they have and I wouldn't let that deter me or anyone from this home as I had much worse in a different home. It's never easy having someone in care but if I ever had the need to use a care/nursing home again I wouldn't hesitate on using this home. They really do go above and beyond on all levels so thank you to each and every member of the staff. You're a credit to the home.

Moss Cottage is a lovely home. My aunt has been there for around nine months and is so well cared for. All staff members are lovely, they're so caring and helpful and they all seem to know my aunt well. The home itself is clean and welcoming. There seem to be lots of activities. And the food always looks great.

My Mum spent over five years at Moss Cottage. The care Mum received was exceptional. The Home is very comfortable and the staff are friendly and very caring. Mum sadly passed away in December and the care and compassion shown to me and my family was wonderful! The staff really care.

I would recommend Moss Cottage to anyone looking for a safe and caring home for their loved ones.

My Mum went into Moss Cottage in October 2022 and has recently passed away. The care she received during her short stay was superb. The management and staff cared for her as they would for their own family and nothing was too much trouble.
